This resort is secluded, so we spent our time there. Rooms were clean, the food was good and the resort had everything you could long for: A serene beach, two beautiful large swimming pools, an extensive night program in front of the restaurant at the beach and a nice water park which our 6-years old enjoyed a lot. Indeed, it became one of his highlights. The resort may not have the same splurge and great location which Henann Resort in Panglao offers, but the excellent staff made more than up for this and were caring and extremely attentive to the needs, so we could completely let go and just relax. During the period, I stayed in many places in the following chronological order: Westown Resort (sixth rank) in Coron; Karuna Villas (fourth rank shared with Coco), Coco Resort (shared fourth rank with Karuna) in El Nido, the Citadel (third) in Cebu, SLAMs Garden (last rank - this is very basic and functional, but still great for full-blood divers) in Malapascua and Henann Resort in Panglao (second) and this was the very best resort considering money for value.

My family had a great stay. The room is clean. All the staff are friendly and approachable. The gym is well-equipped. I like the fact that they switch to refillable glass bottles instead of providing single use water bottles in every room. My children enjoyed the water park and playground. Breakfast is superb.

This is overall a nice resort but it didn’t really meet our expectations. The resort is a 1,5 h drive from Puerto Princesa and that was OK. However the area around the hotel makes it feel very secluded, with two restaurants and two stores along the road. The rooms are nicely built and decorated but unfortunately quite dirty. There’s also a big difference in the location of the different rooms, some of them has a really nice location while others are squeezed in between other buildings. The sound insulation of the rooms is very poor both between the rooms and through the front door. The beach isn’t very nice especially not in the morning when the water is low. They are having two pools which are OK but not more than that, one of them is located just beside the restaurant and it feels a bit strange to splash around while others are eating lunch three meters away. The food in the restaurant is good but quite expensive. They are having a la carte for lunch and buffet for dinner. We tried the buffet once an it was good but not worth the price. We had dinner and lunch on the two local restaurants along the road for 10-20% of the price instead. The staff is friendly and helpful and always asked if they could help you with anything. We purchased a full day tour from the hotel to the underground river, zipline and other things and it worked very well. Of course you pay a bit more for it through the hotel but it was OK and you don’t have much of a choice when staying here. The gym was very good with a lot of machines and free weights. The main reason for us to stay here was the waterpark for your daughter. The waterpark was OK with three water slides, a wave pool and splash land for the younger ones. You get one day free entrance when staying at the hotel and then you need to pay for additional days. One day was enough for us but we would probably have taken some rides in the slides every day if the entrance was included every day. All in all it’s a nice resort but location is a bit too off, the beach is not very nice and the food is expensive.

We spent 5 nights and 6 days at this resort and had the most amazing time. We brought our three children (ages 1, 4 and 7) plus our parents and sister. As a family of 8 we had plenty of activities to keep us busy from the two gorgeous infinity pools, to the water park and our own private boat to a sand bar 20 minutes away. The staff at Astoria are incredible and super helpful. It’s approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes from puerto Princesa airport, due to the size of our group we used Astoria’s private shuttle service. Upon arrival, we were given the five star treatment. We had a two bedroom quote equipped with a kitchenette. We had two rooms joined. The rooms were cleaned and fully equipped with water and towels. Because we were at the hotel for 5 day, we had two free days access to the water park, plus free 20 minutes boat ride to a sand bar where you can snorkel with a guide to see the beauty of the corals and fish. There are other planned excursions for a reasonable price if you want to go to El Nido, the tour services are very helpful. I can’t recommend this resort enough, we had an amazing time. We celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary and took advantage of a private dinner by the beach. Thank you to the staff for making this a memorable trip. Till next time!

For the 4th time, still, we enjoyed our staycation in Astoria Palawan. Same quality of service even this time of Pandemic :) The Staff (special mention, Ms Mel) are very accomodating despite the scare of the virus. UV light disinfection made us feel more secure and comfortable. Can't wait for our next staycation :)

Booked an expensive room here for new year’s fridge in room was broken ask 3 time to have it fixed or replaced so the special celebratory wine and food was ruined. Went to the restaurant for a drink looked more like a calenderia than a restaurant and the bar was a poor imitation serving badly made drinks from behind a wooden bench The new years entertainment was badly organised and ametuer. Everything is great up until the organization of the tours. Booking through the hotel is much more expensive than booking online through a tour site; however majority of these tour sites will not pick you up from astoria so you will have to organize your own method of transportation that fits with the tour pick up time. On our way back from our el nido trip we made frequent stops for no reason and were not told what the reason was if it was for dinner or a washroom break so a lack of communication. Would definitely stay here again but would look into different methods of booking tours.

My husband and I visited Astoria Palawan for a week in October of 2019 for our honeymoon. It was both our first times in the Philippines and this place was absolutely amazing. Every single person of staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They speak to you every time you pass one of them and they offer to take pictures of you and your family. They offer group and private tours to the many attractions of the island and they are pretty affordable. They had fire dancing every night for dinner entertainment and the absolute best food buffets ever! Unfortunately, the main pool was under renovation when we went, but they extended a free pass to the water park to make up for it. We met so many amazing people while on this trip and we definitely spread the word about this place. No better place to stay if you’re visiting Palawan. Palawan, Palawan, Puerto Princessa!!! Hope to be back someday!

Excellent experience! I availed the Astoria Aqua Fun and the experience we had is more than its worth. Very relaxing and clean room, all food items at the buffet for dinner and breakfast are delicious, great selections and very accommodating staff.
We enjoyed the spa, infinity pool, billiards, ktv room and the Aqua Fun area, especially the wave in the pool and the slides.
We once stayed at the room to have dinner to relax. I'm impressed with the food because it was really good.
Lastly, all employees are well service oriented from the airport service, guards, reception, room attendants, usherettes, pool attendants, shuttle service and convenience store crew. They always smile and have a very accommodating tone of voice.
Special mention to Ms. Bernadette Garces of upgrade department who help us arranging our booking at Astoria Hotel, from the flight options, accommodation dates and time, room selections, places to enjoy, inquiries for the reservation of all amenities, welcomed us when we arrived, tour us in the hotel and serves as our photographer as well. Peace. Hehehe. Thank you so much for your excellent service.
