Detailed Reviews

The hotel is not large; the hall, passages and room are really tiny, but it is expectable in Hong Kong. I found the hotel very nice, the rooms were clean and rather cozy. I didn't intend to spend much time at the hotel, so, it is quite acceptable for sleeping! The beds are comfortable and the bedlinen are new. You can also find a bottle of drinking water, tea and an electrical kettle in your room.
Breakfast is not very rich, but it is enough if you are not using to eating much in the morning. Toasts, vegetables, croissants, corn flakes, biscuits and other things were sirved. There were even waffels that should be made by one's own. =))
The location is ok. There are shops and markets nearby, but any metro station is rather far away, one should take a bus or taxi to get there.
Speaking about the drawbacks, we didn't have hot water in our shower. I don't know why, some rooms had it, and other not. The water was slightly warm. And there are no wi-fi in the rooms, one could connect to the free wi-fi only in the passage.

We stayed at this hotel starting May 13 and the folks at the Front Desk were helpful.
Everything in this hotel is small: the receiving area, elevator, corridors, rooms and beds. The rooms are different from each other, but they have complimentary water, small cabinet, small ref, airconditioning, water heater, TV (Chinese channels only), toothbrush and other supplies (behind the mirror), and WIFI. The location of this hotel is far from shops, so it would take you about 30 mins if you walk to Moko Mall or Waterloo St. Better take a bus or cab if you're in a hurry. This is a small nice hotel if you are on a budget (or need to allot more funds for shopping!) and just need a place to sleep. We were always out anyway, so this hotel gave us the much needed rest every night.
Tips:
1. They have small cards at the Front Desk which you can show to the taxi driver in order to help you go to different places.
2. You can easily find taxi cabs at the corner. Just turn right when you step outside the door.
3. There's a small Chinese restaurant at the corner of Ma Tau Chung and Ma Tau Kok which is open even late at night. Dimsum there costs HKD 16 to 18. It's near Circle K and 7-11.
4. To turn on the water heater in the bathroom, turn on the light and exhaust fan switches.

The hotel is neat, the staff is a bit hard to communicate with, they dont speak english, im having a hard time getting directions from them, but they are really helpful. The room is very accomodating, and spotlessly clean, they have room cleaning every morning when the guest is away. This is more than enough to expect from a 3 star hotel. I also find the place very accessible bus stops are just around the corner, depending on which place you are going. The most catch is that the bus going to the airport is just a block away. Riding the bus cost much cheaper than taking the express train to the airport.

We booked this room for 4 nights for around HKD2500. Seeing the reviews, I was expecting an average stay but my experience was surely not average but disappointing.
1. Location - far from the train stations. There was supposed to be a bus stop nearby but was not given a chance to take bus since the staff cannot give us proper directions. Had to take taxi going to nearest MTR (Mongkok) - cost around HK37.
2. Staff- cannot even speak basic english. Always scowling as if it was a hassle for them to be interacting with guests. Does not care about the guests at all. We tried asking one of the staffs where the nearest MTR is, and she said to just take a cab. Wow.
3. Food - we decided to eat lunch there when we arrived. I ordered the pork chop with tomato sauce rice. It's one of the worst I have tasted in my life. It was so mushy and bland. I'm not exaggerating when I say it was disgusting. Price was around HKD68.
Breakfast was the same for our stay. Bread (toaster provided), butter and marmalade, coffee, tea, milk, juice, salad (lettuce, tomato, and dressing), and they would give 2 pieces of cold ham, corn/hash-brown, 2 pcs of cherry tomatoes, and a piece of lettuce on a separate plate.
4. Room - small but clean. Sheets and towels were clean. But the room was too cold. There was a heater in in the room but it was still too cold. TV had only 1 channel that had english shows. Toilet was also clean but tiny and also tooooo cold. Freezing actually.
There's constant banging on the top floors and rooms beside ours. Too noisy. On our first night, we woke up at around 2am because of the hanky panky on the room beside ours - there was knocking sounds on the wall.
We were supposed to stay here for 4 nights, but only after 2 nights, we decided to transfer.
No, I will not recommend this hotel to anyone specially for first time travelers in Hong Kong. I would suggest to find a hotel where the staff can speak english. It's better to shell out a few more hundreds for better location and better service.

One of the worst hotel we've stayed. Very small room, bad food, they don't change the menu. So if you're staying for a couple of days you get the same breakfast every day. And the worst is, bad service. The old guy at the lobby is accommodating but the other guy Alex is very very rude. He shouldn't be in a hotel because he doesn't know how to interact properly with guests. We just asked a simple question and to our surprise raised his voice and answered very very rudely. We asked if he was the owner and he answered that he is everything. So rude huh!

My friends in Hong Kong recommended the Bridal Tea House chain which provided affordable accommodation with various locations to pick from. They offered monthly rates which worked out for my family travelling with my baby who was just short of 12 months old.
The room was indeed small but acceptable in terms of the standards of Hong Kong accommodation. While it was no fancy hotel, it provided everything we needed such as towels, mugs, tea bags, electric kettle, disposable slippers, toothbrush, toothpaste, bottles of filtered water daily. Everything was arranged neatly in the room. We stayed in a room with a double bed. There was a mini desk with Mirror, internet hookup, hair blow dryer, refrigerator and enough storage space if you know where to look!
While they did not change the sheets everyday, they serviced/cleaned the room daily, and sheets were done at least once a week that I could notice.
The only thing we did not like about our stay there, was the noise, especially in the morning. The hotel hosts a lot of guests that check in-out every few days. You could hear people talking loudly in their rooms, in the hall way, day or night. But the slamming of the doors was worst in the morning. It was so loud that you would have no choice but to get up early in the morning. This happened almost every morning!
Another minor inconvenience - about once a week, when my family got back to the hotel, we would have trouble getting through the mini door entrance where the only elevator was for the building because the tour bus arrived at night and dropped of many tourists that crowded the small entrance where the reception was. You could walk up the stairs on the other side of the building but it would have been too difficult for us with our tiny baby.
I suppose if you were single/without kids, just looking for a cheap place to stay, bring your ear plugs and you are set. Although there is no MTR subway close by, there are many options to get to various MTR locations by just one bus/van even taxi for less than USD$3.
Another advantage of staying at the TO Kwa Wan location is that it is an old, poor but safe neighborhood. Descent restaurants are close by and they are inexpensive. You will also find bargains at small vendors in the neighbourhood.

Pros:
1) Easy access to bus and taxi
2) Free Breakfast
Cons
1) The exact same breakfast for 6 days. 1 boiled egg, 2 sausages, 4 ham, 1 slice very very dry bread.
2) Very small room . Got bruises from bumping the corner of the bed ( to be fair, rooms in HK are small)
3) Stay in a family room but utility ( mineral water, towel, slipper, etc) meants for 2 only
4) No MTR station
5) Poor services. I would like to share 2 incident. There was a lady knocking everyone's door seeking for help cause there was no hot water. I help the lady to call the reception ( night reception), however the guy was very sarcatic telling me that it is obviously that there was no hot water cause I did not turn on the heater. Also best answer I got from him when I telling him to go to the room to help the lady was we only have 2 person working so we don't have man power to go to the room to help that person. At the end, I have to go to the room again to help that lady. The second incident was really terrible. The check out time was 12. I was resting with my sister (30 minutes before 12) . The housekeeping when knock our door ( not 12 yet) and before we able to respond to her, she just open the door, looking at us and close the door. SHouldn't she confirm the occupancy of the room before opening the door just like that.
6) There isn't much shopping centre here. Plenty of restaurants, however since there isn't much attractions nor shopping mall, you had to go Mongkok or other places to spend your day.

I was actually really nervous to stay here. We were desperate to find a cheap room for 1 night and I only booked out of desperation. However, we were pleasantly surprised by our room. Clean fluffy sheets and pillows on a really comfortable bed. This is a no frills place in a location that is out of the way but if you don't mind taking the bus and already know exactly what you're going to do while in Hong Kong I would say this place is not a bad option. This place is not going to exceed expectations but it really isn't bad.

This hotel could be considered as the worst one that I had stayed in throughout my entire stay in Hong Kong.
Firstly, there isn't any MTR Station nearby. Secondly, there is only 1 lift in the entire hotel. Thirdly, the room is rather small. Fourthly, the staff could barely speak/understand English or Chinese.
An incident that had occurred during my stay there was that the fire alarm gone off just because one of the hotel tenant did not shut his/her toilet door tight that had caused the leak of hot air triggering the fire alarm.

The hotel room are tidy, and the accomodations in room are fair enough, but since the distance from the MTR station is quite far, so need extra money for Taxi in Hongkong. And the night crowds (Kowloon, TST, the Peak, etc) are reachable by nights only by taxi. The internet are fast enough to download several information needs about HK.

They have a vegetarian menu (didn't try it, but bthhotel , includes a link to their "Green Monday" vegetarian specials with prices. This menu is for Monday, but believe they have some vegetarian options on other days.
There are several other restaurants near the hotel, and myriad excellent restaurants nearer the "Walled City" - about a 7 - 10 minute walk.
