We just visited here for their afternoon tea set. The restaurant 豐盛閣 has a wide sea view and the environment is cozy. The tea set for two cost $468 in total, quite a good deal. The quality is also quite good. Spent a lovely evening here : ) As we are Smartone member, we got 30% off for the tea set and have free upgrade to special drinks !

Clean and tidy room with 2 bathroom, they have 8 beds for family or group. Nice to stay 1 night with friends or family. The room price with breakfast which is very valuable.

You can see the Tsing Ma Bridge outside the hotel at night. Nice night view for taking photos.

Not many choices for Dinner. You may need to walk for a certain distance to find the restaurants in the residential area.

OK...I booked the room because it was cheap. Let's be honest here, Hong Kong hotel rooms are expensive, and we were planning a trip mainly to go to Disneyland. The hotel search said this one was close, and it was. What I didn't know was how tricky the transportation is.

Noah's Ark is located on Ma Wan, which is a tiny residential island not far from the international airport and the island that Disneyland is on. However, it does not have a subway stop, so you must either take a taxi or a bus from the airport. Once you are on the island, you can take a ferry for a 20 minute ride to Hong Kong island. Also, cars are not allowed on Ma Wan, except for the public transportation and taxis, but they drop you off at one point.

When we got in, it was about 1:00am, and we were dropped off at the vehicle circle. We then had to figure out how to get to the ark, which was really just a short walk from there. Apparantely they aren't used to receiving guests at these odd hours, so security had to open a gate to let us in where we eventually found a desk clerk and a waiting bed (we made sure to reserve the room for that night so one would be waiting).

Our room was not one of the "dorm style" rooms (we were on our honeymoon...duh!) but rather a smaller room with a double bed. I was pleasantly surprised by how modern it was, with lots of nice amenities, and the shower had the absolute BEST water pressure I have ever had anywhere. Almost blew me away. Again, the room isn't large, but cosy, and very clean and modern. Well worth the price.

The real charm is the island os Ma Wan itself. It's mostly a residential community made up of a series of hi-rise apartments, all bunched up together. But it has this beautiful esplanade that takes you to the ferry building. There are also a few nice restaurants along a beach that overlooks the bay and a big overhead bridge. It reminded me a lot of San Francisco only more like a village. I really loved it, and will visit again.

On Saturday the Cuban group made us dance to have fun.On Friday the Latin dancers took the guests to dance Latin steps as an event and that was full of great energy. There is Níl as a friendly person .And also the barmen in Sunsun Bar were friendy to me. I'm thinking about definitely to come back to this hotel whenever possible for me.

We choose this hostel because of the attractions nearby (close-up view of the Tsing-Ma bridge, the Ma Wan Park, Ma Wan Fishing Village and last but not the least, the ark of course) and also because it's big enough to accommodate 8 persons in one room. Reasonable price during peak season, VERY CLEAN beddings, easily accessible by ferry from Central or buses from TsingYi/Kwai Chung, and a lot of activities for the kids. I will definitely recommend this to those families with kids.

I chose this hotel for my family of five to stay in for a night while transiting Hong Kong. I thought the 8-person bunk bed room would provide a nice balance between accommodations for five people without having to pay for two hotel rooms while staying reasonably near the airport.

I was right about proximity to the airport but that's about it. This hotel was just odd. From the airport, apparently travelers can only reach it by bus or taxi - and these modes of transport drop travelers off at a random public transport dropoff point because the hotel does not have a standard dropoff process (arrivals pull-through, bag dropoff, parking, etc.) like normal hotels of this size/cost. This can be a bit concerning at 1 am, in the dark, when traveling with three very tired kids after being dropped off by your taxi driver and told in broken English to "go to the compass." There is no obvious signage guiding one to what would be a hotel - again, concerning for the aforementioned reasons. There is also no mention of a method of navigating the labyrinth to find this hotel (or a map, which would be awesome) on its website. We ended up using escalators, going down stairs, walking along roads under bridges...dragging luggage in the dark with no clue really where we were going. After finding a security guard that looked like he worked at this hotel, he let us pass his post and we dragged ourselves and our bags another 50 yards inside a building. The building was devoid of any people or an obvious front desk (or, again, any signs telling weary travelers where to go to check in). I had to leave the family behind and wander a few floors of the hotel before I found a human being that also said she could check us in.

The room was clean and gave us a few hours decent rest - the skylight without controllable blinds wasn't helpful, though.
The "breakfast" included with the room was a joke. For a Westerner, a "breakfast" of corn flakes (with milk), ham slices, bread (for toast), and coffee is not a breakfast. They did serve noodles and other Asian fare, but definitely not an impressive spread or anything I would classify as a breakfast that could mislead travelers into choosing this place.

Taxi fares to the hotel were about HKD250 one way with bag fees and tolls. Definitely wouldn't waste my time on this place again and you shouldn't either.

First of all, you need to understand that it's not near HK Island but it does offer different experience for travelers.

The Location: You can take the bus from the airport to the hotel. It should take around 20-30 mins. After you get off the bus USE THE ELEVATOR to go to lower level. Otherwise you will have to drag all the luggage via stairs. The hotel website doesn't provide much details about how to get to the hotel.
Noah's Ark is on an Island so whenever you want to go somewhere you have 2 options:
1. Take a ferry to Central Pier on HK Island (approx 1hr) and then you can go anywhere you want.
2. Take a bus to Tsing Yi Train Station then you are good to go too!
As you can see, it always takes time like an hour to go to the main islands so keep this in mind before heading out. It's not as bad as you think.

Breakfast: it could be better but it includes in the price so nothing to complain here.

Wifi: free!

To sum up, I would recommend this hotel to family or adults who don't mind to walk or who are able to walk (from hotel to bus stop or to ferry pier). It's good to experience it once to have a resort feels in HK. But one time is enough...next visit I would probably stay on the main Islands.

The Rooms: It's in a very good condition. We stayed in both resort side and dorm type (4-bed 1-bath). Our group is 6 adults and 2 kids (6 and 4). The kids really like the upper bed and all rooms have access to the shared deck with a view of the bridge and the beach.

Pros:

1. Stayed in a 8 persons dormitory for our family of 7. Cheaper than getting 2 hotel rooms in city .
2. Near a clean beach, under the tsing-ma bridge- beautiful scenery
3. Exclusiveness
4. Linked to outside via buses to mtr and airport
5. Many Restaurants choices are available
6. Well-planned room layout and smart use of space inside the room
7. Free breakfast is simple yet sufficient
8. Toothbrushes, bath soap and shampoo ( in dispensers) towels are provided.

Cons:

1. Far from city action and shopping
2. For families with small kids , stroller, many bags , not really convenient to walk out to take buses and then hop from buses to mtr. (15-25 minutes ride out via buses 332 &330 to 2 mtr stations)
3. No Swimming pool
4. No fridge in room

If you travel light and like the beach and don't mind not having a mtr at door step, this place is great for you.

If you have young kids but not those very young ones with strollers, it's a good choice too. I'm just so tired of folding or lugging for baby stroller to get on buses but well, in HK it's not very baby friendly anyway. A baby carrier works better but don't expect HK people to give up seats for you all the time. They are mostly curt and indifferent. But I have to give some credit to the guys who stood up to give their seats to me when I asked aloud.

So if you like shops and mtr bear where you stay to cut down traveling time, this resort is not for you.

+ Poor instructions on how to get to the hotel from airport.

+ Lobby is underwhelming. For that resort name and setting, I would expect something more than 1 person behind the counter.

+ Breakfast food is average quality and only 3 items repeated twice on buffet line. You get noodles, porridge, and eggs. Changes daily but not far from that menu.

+ Rooms are clean but shower causes water to drain down to the bathroom floor into the drain hole across the bathroom. The bathroom floor becomes a river of water across it. They need to address it.

+ bring your own Asian outlet to convert electrical plug type to work with US 120V appliances. Even if your device can handle 240V input like phones and hair dryers, US plugs will not fit. Luckily they had 1adapter to borrow at front desk.

+ To access the hotel from Hong Kong airport, go downstairs under the train to door 27. Catch the 334 bus to PARK ISLAND (Ma Wan area as is locally known). The bus will take you straight to the island. There are no intermediate stops. Once there you have to lug your luggages into a escalator room (ask around as it will be confusing which room) take the down escalators - both of them, exit the room. Now that you are outside and appear to be in the back of a restaurant with beach to the left then you are on the right track. Keep going for 1 minute until you see a set of stairs and gate then carry your heavy baggages down the stairs, through the gates, cross the street then look up. You should see another gate labeled "Noah Ark". This is your first indication that you are at the right place. Why they don't put up signs as soon as you get off the bus is beyond me. Carry your suit cases up the stairs again. Now your will be greeted by a gate keeper. He will check your paper reservation before allowing you in the compound. Don't expect ant help fron him with the suit cases. They never offered to help me at multiple opportunities. Now you should be walking towards the ark, clean and well kept stamped concrete yard. Beautiful bridge to your left. To get to the lobby, keep walking to the ark, enter two small double doors, go inside then follow right. The unassuming hole in the wall is the reception desk.

+ The escalator room closes at night. So if you come in later, you will have to find a way to walk around the building and it can be dark and scary.

+ To get back to the airport, hop on bus 334 which leaves on the hour. There is one stop before dropping you off at the airport on a 30 minute ride. Bus rides are 24 HK dollars one way. Exact change only. Exchange money at the airport.

+ To get to downtown, hop on bus 332 and you will get to town for $10 KH dollars. There you can catch a connecting bus to kowloon. Don't ask me how. Looked too scary so I never tried. Once in Kowloon, you can taxi back to the hotel for 155 hong Kong dollars (about $22 USD). Nathan road in kowloon is where the action is (restaurants, shops, night market).

+ Beach is beautiful view though there isn't much to do there. No chairs to sit on the beach. No drink shops on the beach. Just sight seeing.

+ There are no restaurants worth mentioning because the 2 restaurants cater to the local condo residents.

+This island is very vacant. Where did all the people go? If you want to see the hong kong scene, stay in the kowloon area. It is more expensive, however.

+ from the airport you can take the train to kowloon for $99 HK dollars.
