Porini Mara Camp is located in the exclusive 17,500 acre wildlife conservancy of Ol Kinyei, one of the most beautiful wilderness areas in the Serengeti-Mara eco-system. The camp has 6 spacious guest tents with an en-suite bathroom sited in the shade of Yellow-barked Acacia trees. The camp accommodates a maximum of 12 guests, where guests enjoy game drives in 4x4s, sundowners at scenic viewing points and escorted walks with Maasai guides. Ol Kinyei is noted for its excellent wildlife viewing with a resident pride of lions, cheetahs, leopards and a wide variety of animals. There is a strict limit on the number of tourist vehicles allowed in the conservancy so that visitors from the camp can view the wildlife without other vehicles.

The Porini Mara camp is on the Ol Kinyei Conservancy, and it has access to the Naboisho Conservancy. While we were there, many grazers from the Maasai Mara had migrated into the conservancies. Despite being the 'low' season, there was a lot of game. We saw lions, leopards, cheetah, and elephants. George and David were our guides. They did a great job, and we had a fun time. My wife and I got some of the best phots we've ever gotten on safari. We had the option of doing a game drive in the Maasai Mara, but we didn't see the point of going. The food was delicious; and the camp staff was very attentive. This was our third visit to the Porini Mara camp, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. They had good covid procedures in place as well.

I can't praise the Mara Porini staff highly enough. We had a wonderful weekend. The wildlife viewing on our many game drives over 3 days was fantastic. Probably the best of any trip we've made to the Mara. Our safari guides (as always on Porini safaris) were very knowledgable. Even though visitor numbers are down because of the pandemic, it was heartening to see an American family visiting, and continuing local support for the conservancies. Thank you, Porini, once again.

This is definitely one of my favorite places in Kenya. I've had the luck to stay here twice and our game drives have been something out of this world. The first time, when we were going back to the camp after sundowners, we bumped into a pride of lions where two males were trying to mate with the females and the roaring of the whole pride was something that got inside your skin, absolutely fantastic. The second time, with the amazing experience of George, our guide and friend, we saw a cheetah hunting and we could stay a whole day watching another pride of lions with 2 cubs of 2 months jumping all over the mom... what an experience. The staff, the food, the rooms, everything makes this camp something you never forget in your life.

I spent two nights at Porini Mara Camp. The staff was absolutely amazing - so attentive, friendly and helpful. The tour guides knew the best spots for game viewing - I saw lions, a cheetah with her cubs, lots of giraffes and even had a hippo visit the camp at night. They made me delicious vegan food, which I had informed them about in advance. They implemented all the Covid protocols including staff wearing masks, sanitizing and hand washing stations, disinfecting luggage and a la cart dining instead of the usual buffet. I felt very safe and comfortable. Would highly recommend.

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, everything about our experience at Porini Mara Camp exceeded our highest expectations. The staff is so incredible attentive and friendly, your every need and then some is met. The food was delicious and there was so much of it! We never expected to be eating three-course meals while on safari. The tents are very spacious and comfortable, with a flush toilet and sink. The game drives were truly something to behold. Wilson and George our drivers and guides were incredibly friendly, very knowledgeable and went above and beyond to make sure we not only saw as many animals as possible, but that we had a great time. A highlight each day was our "sundowner" where Wilson and George would take us to a beautiful view for sunset and provide us with some ice, cold local beer to enjoy while taking in the scene. We truly can't think of a better safari experience than what we were lucky enough to enjoy at Porini Mara Camp and highly recommend this to anyone thinking of doing a safari on the Mara.
