If you are visiting Luxor don’t waste your time looking for a hotel. Just book your stay at this hotel Very relaxing. Perfect location. Super breakfast. Spectacular garden. Friendly staff. We were in summer time and we enjoyed the fresh mangos from the garden 👌😋 The whole family loved the place!!!
Rooms are large and kept clean by house-keeping. They have upgrade the WIF but it is free in your room, not just reception. Breakfast seems to meet most people needs, although I am not a big eater so hadn't tried everything. The pool area is managed by the staff well. Most rooms look over the gardens and it nice to sit on the large balcony and do nothing else but that especially at dawn or dusk I often use the staff entrance to leave the grounds, avoiding the Corniche touts
the hotel is fantastic! the service, the rooms, the history of the hotel is absolutely awesome. The garden of the winter palace is absolutely gorgeous an oasis in Luxor. I Highly recommend the pavilion winter palace during your stay in Luxor
An iconic hotel with Agatha Christie as its claim to fame. The gardens are stunning and very well looked after. The staff are wonderfully polite and friendly and extremely helpful. The rooms are clean and extremely spacious but quite dated. This hotel is in perfect position to visit some of the great sites in Luxor. After being so exhausted from the sight seeing we ordered room service. It is reasonably priced and if a average quality - nothing particularly outstanding - basic and edible. It was slightly cold on arrival but that cannot be avoided I guess. Breakfast was lovely! The buffet offered a great selection and all extremely tasty. The breakfast setting in the gardens is beautiful. The pool is less than to be desired about. It was unclean and weathered. The pool was dirty and the outdoor showers were gross. The sun beds are stained from being wet constantly. But once again the staff were lovely. It was a decent stay for the price we managed to book for!…
Pavillon Winter Luxor staff are one of the most welcoming I have come across, from checkin at midnight to morning breakfast to late checkouts to in-room dining. They have an all star team, Mr.Mohammed from the Room service always greets with a smile and their chef serves excellent delicacies; do try their Fish Samiya, mixed grill and steak. Another stand out team member was Ms. Asmaa at reception who was very helpful, courteous and welcoming. Besides staff, the hotels rooms were very soacious, we got connecting family rooms, ample and timely water bottles, fresh local fruit basket, very well maintained gardens and excellent views from the balcony. Other amenities were at par with most 5 star hotels, including an organic loofah ;) Great housekeeping and very good selection of food for breakfast with extended timings from 5:30am to 10:30am, theres also a box breakfast option if you are in a rush for your tour. I would highly recommend the hotel for any tourists visiting Luxor, its location is 20mins drive from the airport and minutes walk from Luxor Temple and the Nile Cruises boarding point. We were very happy with everything related to this hotel: friendly staff, its location, excellent breakfast, fabulous gardens etc. Also, want to give a big shout out to our driver, Mr Sayed Saber, who took care of us two days by driving us to all important sites. He is a nice person, trustworthy and gives you all the necessary details to make your stay as smooth as possible. You can whatsapp him at: +201030102836.
Sofitel Winter Palace is the best place in Luxor to visit, accomodate or dine in Sofitel Winter Palace . Employees are friendly and warm welcoming . Hotel are clean and comfortable ... Exquisite hotel in the heart of Egypt. Halls filled with spirit of the past epoch of exploration, excavation and discoveries, rooms with antique furniture with touches of time. Excellent service throughout.
Back again, service was as always, excellent, starting with the breakfast staff in the morning, ending with those in the evening with room-service and everyone else in-between. My wife had been sick just before we flew out but had thought it was over. It wasn’t and she spent the first 4 or 5 days in bed. Every staff member I met asked about her & said ‘if there is anything we can do, please just ask’ (Except maybe the gardeners) It was February/March and we had been in February before so were prepared for the weather extremes and for our last few days in March, boy was it cold. Fortunately, the pool is heated until April. Looking forward to our next visit when it will be much warmer and our complaint will then be that it’s too hot. (But the pool won’t be heated then)
The Pavillon no longer has a restaurant to cater for an evening meal, but to be honest, guests have mostly gone out for meals over the last 15 years anyway. Guests can use the restaurants, bar and Victoria Room in the Winter Palace. The La Corniche restaurant there does á la carte and also a fixed price buffet. I’m a small eater – I went for the á la carte. Room service I found no different to any other hotel I’ve stayed in Breakfast has to cater for guests from all countries, but I always found something. The swimming pool area is one of the best in Luxor. Food is served by your sunbed or you can go to the EL Nakhil Pool Bar. My favourite dishes include the Caesar Salad and the Iced Nougat. I found the back gate a good way to avoid the touts out the front on the Corniche, with their cries of Tax?, Caleche?, Felucca?, Motor-Boat? the minute you are in their sight before you have even left the hotel. Downsides – Other guests in both hotels going on about what they should have had with their loyalty card i.e. Room Upgrades - They were missing out the words “Subject to availability”. Both hotels were often at 100% occupancy during my stay. Guests saying the hotel needs an upgrade - When they do all the upgrades in both hotels as they did in the Old Cataract, the prices will go up as they did in the Old Cataract. My review is headed “Value for money” – It is.…
