Detailed Reviews
I am sitting in my room at this hotel right now, using the free wifi in my room, that has been fast and reliable for the last 2 days. I am on the 21st floor, it works fine! I have to really wonder about the people who trash this hotel in reviews, they don't travel? Their naïve? the expect everything to be the same as the states? (then stay home!) not sure. This hotel is exactly as advertised, probably more. When I was booking, I was a bit apprehensive, but then when I read the reviews, like the one from Jul 13 where the guy was upset because they did not give him a toothbrush (really, you travel without a toothbrush?) besides, there is some sort of recycling law that prevents hotels from providing non-disposable items. I started looking at these people's other reviews, then I understood. Ok, to come here, take the KAL bus, it is super comfortable, costs 16000 and drops you to the front door. easy. Then, you are located within a 15 minute walk to all the shopping areas, and if you don't like to walk it is no more than a $5 taxi ride to the furthest shopping area. The checkin was fast and professional, the girl at the counter spoke perfect English. The bell hop was super friendly, and engaged me in conversation, seems he is a college student majoring in Geography (not sure what job that gets you!) and he was a prior enlisted man in the Korean Marines stationed on the DMZ. The café in the lobby is ok, just like a starbucks; and there is a starbucks next door (out the front turn right, then right - next to Family Mart) there is also a store across the street from the entrance, it is like a 7-11 with a few other items like umbrellas and such. We also had a few requests from the front desk; my wife called down and explained we forgot our travel convertor for 110v, within 5 minutes they brought us one! We also now travel with a 2 year old, asked about a crib and they brought one within 15 minutes! Cut little thing too! Housekeeping has been great, we slept in the first morning and did not leave until noon, back at 2pm our room was made up and extra towel were left for the little one! As far as the property goes, yes, to be fair, there are some signs of age. But they have made repairs (our ceiling obviously had a leak once, but it has a patch which is visable due to pait color) GASP! I should down grade my review to a 1!!! The shower issue, yes, there is no shower curtain, yes the floor floods, when your done showing, put down a towel, magically your floor is now dry! As far as a tub, if that is your thing, then yeah, you'll be disappointed! We are in room 2117, an end, it has an excellent view of N tower, is super quiet, and in great repair. The bathroom faucet is really fancy, took me almost 30 seconds to figure it out... The water is as hot as you want, for as long as you want. We have a refrigerator in the room with minibar. We have been given coffee and 2 bottles of water each day (free). The toiletries in the bath have been resupplied each day, which is funny since we brought our own large size and the wife keeps dropping these in the baggage! The room is very clean, and the beds are extremely comfy! Not too hard, not too soft. We have a queen and a twin (seems larger) and a total of 6 pillows between them, very nice pillows! The linen is white, clean and in great repair! I love white linen! We have a room safe, large wall closet and closet at front door, We have room shoes and robes provided. The TV for those who care, (I don't, I'm in KOREA!) is a 40" flat panel with a ton of channels. The A/C, ceiling mount split mini, wife likes it a bit warmer, I think it could go colder, not sure! Our room is comfortable. Lastly, the windows open, I like that, wife does not because we have a 2 year old (could she wiggle out? maybe, but it would be hard!) All in all, I would recommend this over most others. The area is quiet and very clean. The staff is really accommodating, and the area is convenient. One last thing, when we checked in I noticed they had a trip advisor award from 2012. I hope my review helps them get a 2013 award, they deserve it!

The Ramada Suites in Namdaemun is situated perfectly for Seoul's first time visitor whose main goal is sightseeing in the area. Every place of interest - cultural, shopping or entertainment is within 10-15-30 min walk of the hotel, really it's biggest advantage over the business hotels located in the Gangnam or other areas of Seoul.
It is very easy to get to/from Incheon airport, as the KAL limosine bus stops right outside the lobby. It comes and goes every 30 mins or so, and the trip to the airport takes 50-70mins depending on the time of the day. Tickets cost 15K Won and can be purchased from the reception.
Not sure how transportation works from Gimpo airport (Domestic airport), we took a cab for 35K Won, about 30 min drive.
The hotel itself is your standard Ramada in Asia (the Ramada's in the US are more in the 2-3 star vicinity, whereas the ones in Asia are more in the 4 star range); the room is fairly large with plenty of floor space to move around even after we brought in all of our luggage. The bathroom seems to have been rennovated fairly recently; had one of the fancy gizmo toilets, as well as an updated shower, sink and faucets.
The room had some sort of a balcony, but don't make the mistake of leaving the door open, unless you enjoy the intrusive company of some very hungry mosquitos.
Front desk were very nice, check in was fast; English was good enough for whatever little interaction we had.
Our rate was about $125 per night which is ok for Seoul; rate did not include breakfast.
My few gripes were the lack of free internet, and the lack of any wi-fi in the room. We were told it costed about 19K Won ($19) per 24hrs or 110 Won per minute. However, I plugged in the LAN cable and internet was available immediately, no log in/log off process which begged the question of how they account for billable usage. When I checked out, I didn't get billed for anything, so as far as I was concerned, internet ended being free for me, therefore this did not take away any stars from my rating.
Another small complain I had was how slow the elevators were. It can literally take up to 5 mins of wait time just to get in.

I ran out of points for the Hilton so we moved to the Ramada for one night. It was close to all the shopping areas and conveniently serviced by the KAL Limousine bus to/from Incheon Airport.
Our room was quite large and shaped like an L with one leg for the beds and the other a living room. It felt like 2 rooms in one but the condition was just average and could stand an update as it was dark inside and a little worn. The bathroom was functional but cracked tiles and mold was noticeable.
Our rate did not include breakfast but there was a nearby convenience store and Subways sandwich shop. However, we went back towards Seoul station for a better meal.
Service was acceptable and they gladly stored our bags while we wandered around Seoul before come back to catch our bus.

One of the worst hotels I have been in my life! An old building, completely impersonal, old blinds on the windows…
The room has nothing that can make it a little more cosy: no paintings on the wall, no rugs, nothing.
And normally the hotels leave the air conditioning on when the guests are about to arrive… This one, the room was so hot and I was melting for 30 minutes till it got a little fresher.
Really don’t recommend!

Booked this hotel through Hotels.com for a week touchdown in Seoul before going on a beachvacation. We chose Ramada for petfiendlyness easy access to the city and hopefully chill and not so uptight and swanky.
Well nobody speaks English... and we have not gotten any clening of our room since we arrived 3 days ago. We asked them about the cleaning today but it seem the maid only work in the mornings....
So the room is not very clean. The staff cannot communicate in English. The toilet broke down and we were told not to use it so much(?). Each interaction with the staff is comical. A hotel should have staff that can talk English and know international manners. Its a minimum.
We are staying in room 1311 at the moment. (The room is noisy). Eventhough we ve booked and prepaid for our small dog, the staff seem astonished that we have a dog (which we checked in).
We will not return here on our way back in late July. We ll opt for the swankier hotels bc they at least talk a bit more English.
Ramada this is embarrassing!

+1
Stay away. Do not stay in this hotel. Their review online are not reliable, they don’t allow refund, don’t speak English, allows dogs, mouldy everywhere especially the toilet. Aircon in room is super noisy, worst than village love motel. Please see my photos, if you can accept these then book your stay.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. When we tried to check in, a manager politely informed us that the hotel was overbooked and that we would have to move to another hotel. When we asked him to point to the hotel (a Hilton) on our city map, he had to unfold the city map to show us the hotel way outside of town. We refused and were given two rooms on the top floor. When we walked into our room, there was a terrible sewer smell and when entering the bathroom we noticed that the toilet hadn't been cleaned (it was quite obvious). We immediately called for someone to clean the bathroom and although the service was fast, the 'cleaner' showed up with a single rag, no disinfectant. Our room wasn't cleaned both mornings and when we called, we were told that we had left our 'do not disturb' message on. Two days in a row? No. Even as I watched the room being cleaned on the second day, I saw that the fresh towels had black marks on them and so did the sheets. They were clean, but stained. Overall, a frustrating and unpleasant experience.

Showers dont work, you will be standing under cold showers until engineers come fix this .. happen for most nights during my stay. My room was wrongly assigned to other people while we were still staying in it resulting with a walk in to my room in the middle of the night by 2 drunks....the scariest thing that can ever happen when staying at any hotel. The hotel location is not well known by taxi drivers and they cannot understand even if you showed them the hotel card.

Upon arrival the front desk slipped us a piece of paper stating that our stay may be interrupted by the owners of our rooms "putting a sticker on the door". What that means is due to an ongoing legal dispute, many of the rooms have been sealed (literally, with tape) and affixed with a sticker saying that the room is no longer legally allowed to be a hotel room. There were no toiletries in the bathroom, and the A/C was a bit of a hit or miss proposition. When I reached out to Ramada to let them know about the conditions here, they responded with a message that they couldn't help as I booked through an online service. Stay Away!
