The Westin Josun Seoul boasts an elegant ambiance and comfortable, albeit occasionally dated, rooms that guests find well-appointed. Many praise the hotel's exemplary service, with staff demonstrating eagerness and attention to detail. The spotless cleanliness, especially housekeeping's meticulous work, consistently impresses guests. While the hotel's extensive amenities, like the gym and spa, earn rave reviews, opinions on value vary with some deeming it overpriced. Nonetheless, the central location remains a highlight for exploring Seoul's offerings.

Stayed 2 nights for business with a colleague. I hadn’t been here in 4 years so my memory was a little foggy.

Everything in the lobby was polished clean. I was greeted at my car. I redeemed suite nights for this stay and was provided with a beautiful, Korean-style suite with a platform bed and natural stone bathroom. The bed was EXTREMELY comfortable and the sheets were crisp.

The staff could not have been more friendly
and helpful. There was an incident where an outside visitor did something that would incur a cost to me, but the staff realized I did not want the item and gave me a pass. I was so appreciative of their generosity. The lounge had a good breakfast assortment.

There are also many great places to eat outside the back door, including street food. Don’t miss the KBBQ directly across the crosswalk. So close we missed it the first night.

I will definitely return the next time I am in Seoul.

We stayed for 8 nights at the Westin Josun Seoul and could not have been happier with our stay. The hotel is absolutely beautiful. All the staff were incredibly helpful and kind, and spoke excellent English. Despite the hotel being very busy, we never had to wait for service. Our room (605) had a lovely view of the Hwangudan Altar, was quiet, and spotlessly clean, with very comfortable bedding and high-quality sheets, towels, and bath amenities. The shower had great water pressure. We are a family of three adults, and the room was spacious for us, with a queen and double bed. There was also plenty of closet space and drawers, so we were not living out of our suitcases.

The location of the hotel could not be better – very close to key tourist sites. Kakao maps made it easy for us to navigate while walking. And we could easily walk to Seoul Station with our overnight bag for our weekend in Busan. Seoul is similar in size to Manhattan for comparison. For any place we could not walk to (or were just too tired to walk to), taxis were inexpensive and easy to flag down everywhere (open taxis have a right light in the windshield). We fully intended to use the subway, but taxis were so easy and comfortable, and allowed us to see various parts of the city, so we never used the subway during our trip.

The Lotte Department Store around the corner and the Shinsagae Department Store a few blocks away both have must-visit food halls (similar to Harrods), with outstanding food courts where you can try a variety of mostly Korean and other Asian dishes. Both get very busy by 6:00 p.m., so get there before then to get a table.

We took a jumbo taxi from the airport to the hotel (~$80 USD) when arriving. When departing, we took the airport shuttle from the hotel to the airport. You can buy the tickets at the hotel when checking out for just ~15 KRW/$12 USD per person. The Westin is one of the first stops, so the shuttle isn’t full and no advance reservation is needed.
We highly recommend this hotel and would definitely stay here again.

We were sad to leave. Thank you to everyone at the Westin Josun Seoul for making our stay so perfect.

We recently stayed for 6 nights at The Westin in Seoul. Having never been before it was a great surprise to be welcomed so warmly to a beautifully decorated lobby, our rooms were ready straight away, although we could have checked in on the executive floor as well. The rooms were nicely decorated and not over the top. Very relaxing bed as you’d expect from a Westin. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The executive lounge offered a great breakfast and views of the city. The location was perfect for us. Not only the local area itself but so easy to access the subway to go wherever we needed to get to. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this hotel, from it’s comfy rooms to its central and great location.

We stayed at the Westin Chosun Seoul for just one night during October 2019.

As a Marriott Platinum member, we were only upgraded to higher level rooms only, but no junior or standard Suites were offered. The room was quite standard, average in size and layout, with partial City view and direct view of the Temple of Heaven. However, the Temple of Heaven was under renovation, so the room view ended up quite disappointing.

Due to age restrictions in Korea, my daughter was also unable to access the lounge.

On the positive side, Westin Seoul is very well positioned, in the heart of city and within close walking distance to the popular Myeongdong street food, shopping district and local Palaces.

The breakfast at the hotel was also quite nice and there's a Citibank ATM within the hotel, very convenient for foreign guests like us to withdraw KRW via Citibank Plus Transaction Cards.

Staff at the hotel was also courteous and friendly. Rosie at Concierge patiently provided direction and map for local attractions and Jenny at front desk actioned our checkout efficiently.

I might choose to stay at the Westin Chosun Seoul again in the future, but probably during a less busy period, where more loyalty recognition can be realised for Elite members.

The hotel location is great, right in the middle of myeongdong and easily accessible. Free parking was great. I’m a Bonvoy member and requested for an early check in but they were not able to honor that, and I came back to a 40 min wait line for check in.
Had a small child and 3 large bags and nobody to help me get to my room.
Room was outdated, but it had everything you would need and also a Nespresso machine. I was surprised by the poor quality of bathroom amenities, the shampoo/conditioner/body wash really motel quality. It was horrible.
Housekeeping also wouldn’t make our room until 4-5pm which we then had to call to make sure they would do it before we came back from dinner. Everyday the same thing
We enjoyed the pool and the attendants were nice! We really enjoyed our time there.
Breakfast was a nightmare, luckily we are a family that wakes up early but by 830 there was an hr wait for breakfast already. The food was great but you had to stand in line for coffee, toast, eggs…
Another occurrence was trying to get a cab, they would not get a cab for us and instead told us to call one via our phones. Which I guess it’s fine, but that should not happen at 4-5 stars hotel.
All in all our stay was ok, for a 3 night stay, but I wouldn’t come back, also Lotte next door is not much better either, I would stick to JW Marriott in Dongdaemon if you need to stay north of Seoul.

The Italian restaurant downstair that used to serve a very high quality food has been replaced by a not so good restaurant. Something is not right with Rubrica and they can't even serve a fresh squeezed juice properly. It's a very low quality. Actually all the restaurants at this hotel seems to go downhill. Hotel business should be run by professionals who worked their way to the top and they need to figure out what's wrong very fast. The hotel room is good and everything was delivered on time. The front desk is nice and also the people at the front entrance are kind and helpful. Except restaurants it was a pleasant stay.

Westin Josun Seoul is one of the oldest hotel in Seoul but when you stepped into the hotel, you totally cannot feel any signs of aging in it.

The rooms are very well maintained and clean. Smart TV has very strong internet connection with Youtube and I was able to enjoy my time at night after a tiring work day.

The hotel staffs are very welcoming and pleasant. This top notch service is definitely something that Westin provided as I have the same positive experience when staying in Westin Tokyo. This definitely is one of the reason why Westin is always my top choice for work trips.

Housekeeping is great and the rooms are cleaned and they even replaced my bedroom slippers daily. I noticed this because I had a small cut on my sole on my first day and the slipper had a small blood stain but when I returned after work, the slipper is a clean white new pair. The housekeeping also noticed that I kept my bottle water next to the bed and put a fresh bottle with a clean glass next to my bedside daily. Such attentiveness are very much appreciated.

The only downside that I have experienced during this stay is that there is a constant water dripping sound in the toilet from day to night. It sounds like something is leaking but I can’t seems to locate the source of it. It will be good if the team can check and ensure that the issue is fixed as the sound gets loud at night when I want to sleep.

Overall it is a positive stay but I would ask for a different room next time.

Overall
Dated traditional hotel in the heart of the city with ok service and decent dining.
No Marriott recognition

Service:
Indifferent. Other hotels in seoul provides better service with genuine care and attention to detail. Plaza is much much better.

Bonvoy Experience:
I am Marriott Titanium, Hyatt Globalist.
Upon check-in from the club floor,
The clerk said the hotel was full so cant give a suite upgrade, the suite was available on the homepage but didnt bother to fight on the issue since this hotel was infamous for not giving upgrades to high tier members and honestly we didnt care much since the hotel is old. (it was two days mid week stay)
But when I went to the room, it was a low floor room with a horrible view of the parking lot behind the hotel.
Complained and was changed to the front side of the hotel.
No sympathy whatsoever during the process. A pity.

Hardware:
Dated, dark and inconvinient room.
Bed comfortable.
Bit suffocating due to low floor height.
Small lobby with no distinction.
Traditional hotel with lots of history but nothing more to it.

Dining:
One of the best breakfast place in Seoul (considering bang for buck)
Super crowded even for weekdays.
Club lounge is horrible. drinks are very limited and the food selection is bad for a korean 5 star hotel. service horrible during the happy hour. we stayed for 10 min and left.

Location:
It is located in the heart of Seoul near the city hall but there is almost no view from the hotel since it is located amidst of many office buildings.
The Plaza Seoul has much better location/view

I had a truly amazing stay at the Westin Josun Seoul. We received a room with view over the Pagoda which was magical. Although the room furniture felt a bit outdated, it was very clean and comfortable and honestly kind of fitted the entire atmosphere of the hotel as well. The lobby felt luxurious and bright, the reception staff was kind and very helpful. We used the concierge service once and they would try book a table for us at a restaurant but unfortunately did not get back to us. They were kind enough to inform us later that day that they wanted to send me an e-mail about not being able to book a table but the e-mail failed to send. I liked that even though they made a 'mistake' they were kind enough to honestly tell me what happened, this is how you earn trust.

Breakfast was amazing, lots of options and the big winner for me was the barista. Fresh coffee in the morning and even dairy-free options which was pretty rare to find in other hotels in Korea.

The hotel is nice and in a good location, but it completely disregards bookings made by titanium members for the spouse. The reservation was made and paid for by member's card and the hotel did not extend one titanium member benefit because the member was not there. They did not even give points for this stay. Treated as a walk-in. The manager's response was a bunch of cookie cutter pasted rules and policies. This is the only hotel we stayed in the world that did not take the membership status into consideration at all. They were happy to take the member's money, though. Recommend avoiding this hotel if a family member stays without member present in this place. They do not seem to care about members who were loyal to the brand for a long time. And it is not the points and benefits that were not given upset the most, it was the attitude, which we have not experienced in any of the Marriott hotels worldwide. In the future neither the member no the rest of our family will stay in this place.
