Had a great stay at the Moxy! Location is excellent, close to Gyeongbokgung Palace, Bukchon Hanok Village and just across the road from many local eateries and restaurants. The street outside the hotel was blocked off every evening and the place came alive with outdoor restaurant and bar seating etc, great party atmosphere but you can’t hear a thing from even the rooms facing the street. The subway entrance is just outside the hotel and it is really easy to find your way around Seoul from there. We opted for King rooms and they were great, spacious enough with clever use of the space such as a foldable table and chair that hung flat on the wall when not in use. The bed was a little unusual in that there is no room for bedside tables but a shelf overhead takes care of that and the bed and pillows were very comfortable. I particularly appreciated that every plug type was provided so no adaptors were needed. Master switch to control all the lights is located on each side of the bed. Nice big-screen TV and very easy to log in to your own Netflix, just remember to log out before you leave. They also had a few English-speaking channels. Bathroom is split into toilet area and shower area, each with its own door with the sink in between. Well stocked with pyjamas and toiletries and fresh bottled water every day. The bidet is amazing and I would rate it as the best in all 5 hotels we stayed at in Korea and Japan. I also made great use of the tea and coffee-making facilities in the room. I loved the gym, it is tiny at first glance but had enough equipment and free weights to get a very decent workout and is stocked with towels and a water dispenser. Breakfast is excellent with a wide range of Korean and western foods, filled me for the day so that I didn’t really need lunch. The vibe of the hotel is young, hip and fun and while I accept that I am not the demographic it is geared to, there were a couple of minor annoyances such as music blaring a touch too loud in all the common areas. However the room itself was extremely quiet, very soundproof. The key card is needed for the elevator and is only programmed to your floor so make sure you and your travelling companions are on the same floor or else be prepared to take the stairs. Staff are very friendly and helpful and speak a variety of languages, everyone seemed to have good English. I really enjoyed my stay at the Moxy and would definitely stay there again.

I have not stayed at a Moxy hotel before, but decided to try this one recently. The location of the hotel is in Insadong, which is a very interesting and fun area to walk around. The hotel is right outside exit 4 of Jongno 3(sam)ga station, although it takes a few minutes to walk up to the exit. The proximity to train lines is excellent.

Check in was on the top floor. My Marriott Bonvoy status was recognized at check in, although no upgrade was provided or expected at this class of hotel. The room itself was fine, a little more young and hip than Aloft. The room was fairly basic, with no real closet, but there were pegs on the walls to hang clothes. There was also a clothing rack built into the wall but it was open. The TV had Netflix, but no bluetooth casting. Plenty of outlets that were intelligently placed and smart placement of air conditioning and lighting controls. The bed was comfortable and there wasn't very much noise from the street. The shower was nice, with wand and rainfall options, but the adhesive for the dispensers wasn't very strong and the bottles would come halfway detached from the wall from pumping them. Not a luxury room by any means, but very decent and modern considering the price of the hotel.

The lobby of the hotel had an area with board games, a dart board, a foosball table, and many comfortable couches. I spent some time there relaxing after a walk, but didn't see it being used much.

The breakfast was on the second floor. The seating area is a little awkward, set up with different height tables and chairs. It seems to be built more as a social area and not as ideal for a dining area. The breakfast was solid, with enough choices, even cooked to order eggs and Vietnamese pho available. The staff did an excellent job making sure there was always enough food out in the small buffet area.

The gym is also located on the second floor, opposite of the dining area. A little awkward in location and with clear walls.

Very good hotel, especially considering the price point. Insadong is a great area to walk around, with many interesting shops and restaurants, plenty of street food, and this is a great hotel to use as a base to explore the area.

I've been here several times before, but every time I come, it's attractive and the satisfaction goes up!! There was no breakfast during the early days of opening and breakfast was served over a year ago and I used it once, but last year was clean, fresh and delicious!! This year was more upgraded so it was so fresh and varied and taste great!! It was the conclusion that everything came better and tasty than the other 5 stars!!
The foods were so qualitative and the taste and purity were the best. The hot foods were also varied and the salmon freshness was better than most recent 5 stars, and the baking, fruit, sides, various and delicious desserts in the cold foods were the best!
And from the check-in to the reception staff and staff, breakfast staff, etc. were so kind and welcomed and greeted and thank you!!! The 24-hour lounge was impressive.

The location is no more than a block of traffic, no noise and quiet and good rest!! The room is a little small, but the satisfaction of the staff and breakfasts is better than 5 stars!!
Thank you for visiting!!!

I do not recommend this hotel. The hotel is located in a very noisy party area. Drunk youth relax under the hotel windows every day. The rooms are small and lack any storage space for clothing or personal items. Before that, we stayed in another hotel, there were shelves, a closet, hangers, a table, chairs and storage space; every day in our room the cleaning lady brought drinking water to the refrigerator. At the same time, the previous hotel was cheaper. That is, there is something to compare with. In this hotel they brought us water only on the first day of our stay; we didn’t like the cleaning service. The hotel itself is also noisy, you can hear the neighbors talking on the side, you can hear the neighbors upstairs walking, the door to the room does not close all the way, so you can hear everyone in the corridor. Did not like.

This hotel has such a fun vibe. The rooms are small but they make good use of the space. It’s in a great location, the street outside has a busy nightlife yet the hotel felt safe and secure. The Moxy is also just a 5 minute walk to Ikseon-dong which has so many cute cafes. This is a great location if you want to be close to the Gyeongbokgung Palace or Bukchon Hanok Village areas, but overall Seoul is so accessible by subway and bus so we were able to travel around the city very easily.

I also want to thank the Moxy staff because I left some items on the hotel safe after checking out, but they were able to work with our hotel in Busan to arrange for same day delivery of the items to Busan. I was pretty stressed out but thanks to the staff from both hotels I was able to retrieve my lost items and enjoy the rest of my visit to beautiful South Korea.

The hotel exceeded my expectations. I was delighted with the play area at the ground floor and we did enjoy the welcome drinks. Check-in was smooth and the bartender was accommodating when I ordered the same drink I had for my welcome drink the next day. My room is more spacious than my sister’s and nephews. And my family enjoyed the breakfast buffet on our last day of stay. Having a laundry facility at B1 was a nice touch since I didn’t want to bring dirty winter clothes back home.

This unassuming (from the outside) hotel is located right by a Metro station, so you can get absolutely anywhere from this location!! Staff are incredibly pleasant and its bar area is great. The breakfast buffet is TO DIE FOR. Hands down, their breakfast buffet is the absolute best that I have ever experienced. The chefs are incredibly talented and put on an amazing spread! Everything from savory to sweet is available and everything is delicious. We found it a great way to taste a wide variety of Korean cuisine! Definitely do NOT hesitate to book your stay here!!

Would very happily stay here again. Location is perfect for access to Ikseon-dong Hanok Village, Insadong St and many of the significant palaces.
The room was smallish but the design meant we had quite enough space for our 6 night stay.
The 'city view' room on a high floor gave a good view of snow covered Insadong. There was negligible noise from the street and only a little from the rooms beside us.
Staff were great.

Hotel in a convenient and busy location.
It was a small room with no view, but the room was quiet, clean and bright, and I felt as if it were my own.
There was no bathtub, but the shower booth was very large. And toilet water pressure and bidets are good!
Breakfast was stylish and delicious, with Korean food. There are many restaurants nearby where you can enjoy breakfast.
There was a laundry room in the basement, which was very helpful because I was with children. It's very convenient because you don't have to prepare change because you pay by credit card.
I really like the liveliness of Jongno 3 Street, so I want to stay here again.

There is one fundamental problem that has to be fixed. The aircon blows directly at the head of the person when sleeping on the bed. They have to reposition the vent.
The bathrooms are modern and the wood floor feels clean. Don’t like the lobby on the top floor. It would be better if it was on the ground level.
Location:
This hotel is in a lively if somewhat downmarket part of Insadong. Outside the entrance is obscured by a subway entrance so yiu may miss it. There are eating tents and a public toilet outside with people smoking at night so it feels a bit grungy. The upside is there are reasonable restaurants around the corner and a night market. But the cost of the room is lower so you get what you pay for. Some of the Western tourists who stay here look a bit shifty.
Overall if you are on a budget this place offers nice modern rooms. They just have to fix the aircon direction. Also the location may be a little grungy for some.
