Nestled in the heart of Port Vila, the Ramada Resort by Wyndham offers guests a homey atmosphere with rooms that not only boast spaciousness and comfort but also feature full kitchens and stunning views, as many travelers have noted. While the resort's amenities, including its dining options and entertainment, receive high marks, guests have called out the additional transportation costs and some services as overpriced. The commitment to cleanliness is generally applauded, though opinions on service vary, with accolades for staff friendliness contrasting with remarks on occasional slow service.

Lovely location, worth paying extra for a ground floor with room.
Snorkel if equipment provided although not much to see off the local beech (we did a day trip to the other side of the island, which did this very well)
Approx 10 minutes walk to large local supermarket and a further 10 to the market and picturesque sea side walk
Staff were excellent and provided great service
We tried various local restaurants however the meal we had here was not only the best but also the best value.
Our room was a long way from reception however the provision of a transport buggy meant that it was no problem

The hotel is by the shore of the little bay east of Port Vila. The entrance from the main road is hidden but once you pass the Au Bon Marche market at the roundabout, look for a big tree on your left and you will see a post on your right indicating the entrance.
The rooms are type of apart hotel, you will enjoy the view of the sea bay (looks like a lagoon but with tides), the staff kind attendance and the beach. The rooms are located in different buildings numbered from 1 to 7. Number 2 is close to the parking place but not over the beach whilst 3 to 7 are over the beach. Transportation from the reception to the rooms is by the use of a buggy electric car.
The rate confort vs price is quite good and better than other hotels.
I recommend you to hire a car as the hotel is not close to the town centre, however taxis may be called and coming very fast.
The only problem is that at the time of our arrival (we stay for 2 weeks) there were not so many buggies and in rainy season it is needed for reaching the car parking.

We had a week, less one day due to flight cancellation, at the Ramada. This was the 9th place we have stayed at in Vila over many visits and is easily the most well appointed and designed. It is still fairly new and I am so glad that they survived the covid lockdown as many of our favourite business's in town did not.
The room was spacious and very clean. Fantastic design and the use of local hardwood is excellent. Plus with it's own kitchen you can choose to buy beautiful local organic produce and do your own thing or make use of the restaurant. We like to mix it up. The food at the restaurant is good but could do with perhaps another dish or two on the menu, or to vary the menu through the week.
Happy hour(s) and the live music is a bonus, although I was disappointed that there was no live music on the Saturday evening as it was my birthday! Sorry had to slip that little whinge in there. The fire show mid week was great, not as extensive as at the Beach Bar at Mele on Friday evenings but for a donation only, it's great entertainment.
One thing that the management could look at is moving some of the sun lounges from the pool area to along the lagoon front. We looked straight out at the lagoon and it would have been nice to have had a couple of lounges spaced every 5-10 metres to have a relax in and perhaps a few in the little chapel on the water. Not everybody wants to lay around a pool in a circle looking at each other.
The best part about the Ramada is the staff, they are fantastic. As is typical in Vanuatu, everybody has a warm smile, they are friendly and will help with anything you need, from getting your phone connected to wifi to suggesting it's Tusker time!
Overall, the measure of any accomodation is "would you stay there again, and it's a definate yes with the Ramada. Quick walk to buses on the main road, or the Au Bon Marche which has everything you could need food, drink or grocery wise and fantastic staff.

Normally they are very entertaining and talk to the culture of vanuatu during and between song and dance. We have strated putting a few facing the Lagoon, I do like your idea and we will add more facing out to the lagoon. Thank you We loved hosting you and hope to see you again! The Ramada Team

The staff is friendly even if not responsive to problems. This hotel had the worst wifi internet I have ever had at any hotel worldwide, reported issues and they simply give another coupon. Website advertises free wifi, but in fact it is throttled and restricted to a certain amount per day and then they want to charge you extra for additional usage. Extremely unprofessional. They also do not recognize your status with the Wyndham program if you have any unless you make them aware of it.

I recently returned to Vanuatu and had to quarantine at the Ramada. Very dissapointed in the experience. Food was well below average. Overcharged for 1 night which had to be paid in the 1st few days and also charged 51,000vt for air conditioning on top of quarantine charges which had been advertised by the government. Absolutely ridiculous - i was not made aware of the charge until I got the bill on the 2nd day. Had I been given a choice as the others on the flight were I would not have agreed to stay there. Management even accessed my private facebook page and read to me a statement that I had put on my page about the food and thanking them for finally sending someone to the market and buying some local fruit. Tv and Wifi worked sometimes and not others. Now the management are refusing to answer any emails to discuss the issue with regards to overcharging for a night.

We only booked here because our first choice was booked out on our first week of the trip. Turned out to be between than our first choice. We actually wanted to stay there longer but they were booked out.

Room (junior suite) was very spacious. Room looks new and very clean. Awesome facilities. Kitchenette with all essential kitchen equipment including large fridge with freezer, 4 piece toaster, small dishwasher and microwave.
Couch with a decent size TV. Big balcony with a great view.

Hotel facilities were new and clean. Lovely pool which interlinked baby, child and adult pool so you don’t have to get out of the water in order to go in to the kids pool.

Breakfast buffet was good and tasty.

Very lovely staff.

Resort on a steep hill but they have staff driving buggies to take you around.

Would def come back if we return to Vanuatu.

We did this trip in Jan 2020 just before the COVID shutdown of the world... so a little late in posting. The resort is located a little out of town which can walked to. The staff are all very friendly and willing to help.

We had a ground floor room which was easily accessible from the waterside and could be walked to within 2-3 mins from the restaurant. The resort isn't too large but you can have a good time just relaxing in the pool.

The restaurant is good, the buffet breakfast was well stocked everyday and for lunch / dinner there were different options provided (buffet and a la carte) as well. There was a fire show evening which was really great, similar to any other island resort you get...

The room was spacious and had a good kitchen in it which allowed for any cooking you wanted to do. Amenities included were good as well.

You can hire a private van and go for a roam around the island and swim at other beaches.

We had a great stay at Ramada and loved the location. We could walk to town easily or catch a local bus. Our lagoon view suite was a great size and the bed was comfortable. The rooms face East so the balcony had sun in the morning which was nice and it meant our room were was cooler in the afternoon. The block out curtains also did a good job so we could sleep in. The staff were all great and very friendly with a special shout out to Bob at the pool who is such s nice man! The only thing that could be improved is the food as we did have some lunches that I’d not recommend, I even sent a burger back which was so over cooked and horrible I couldn’t eat it! I never do this which is saying something! There are two chefs and you definitely want to hope that Kanik (I hope I’ve spelt his name correctly) is working as his food is great! Also don’t expect a proper beach as the hotel is on lagoon 2 which is more like a river outlook and not somewhere you’d want to swim!

Staff really do make this place. They are warm and engaging and always happy to help. Management is also appreciated by staff and very approachable.

Rooms are well appointed and well maintained. On the initial day of your arrival, you will find local flowers placed about the room, making it feel homely and nice.

The food in the restaurant is just amazing! You can not leave without trying the steak. It is cooked to absolutely perfection.

Entertainment in the restaurant does not disappoint. Fire shows, cultural shows, and a local covers duet (these guys are really good) they're on a Friday night. Be prepared to get up and have some fun. Staff are always happy to join in, too.

Kids were well engaged by staff who took them over to feed the fish while the parents kicked back in the restaurant, and although there is no lifeguard at the pool, staff did keep a watchful eye.

Beds are superb and will give you a comfortable night's rest after a hard day relaxing.

Room was excellent except for faulty refridgerator (replaced - needed a reminder after 3 days) and very poor TV reception. (could not be improved when attempted) A few minor cleaning details notified to hotel.
The grounds need much more maintenance - a thorough heavy duty clean to outside surfaces and especially vertical ones (driveway walls and steps to beach). Gutters are full of debris and plants are growing from some. Leaf litter on roofs visible from path to lift. Lift needs a thorough clean. Restaurant roof badly in need of new ‘thatching? Possibly due to 2023 cyclones?
The food was good with the exception of a couple of seafood meals served cold and one steak tough and overcooked slightly.
Service was great, especially at the restaurant and bar.
The reception/lobby furniture fabric is stained.
The pool deck chair cushions are dirty.
There was rust on the metal brackets etc on the screens between unit balconies.
There were two light fittings on the balcony outside the lift on level 2 with globes not working.

We enjoyed the location and the room and hospitality but all the above disqualifies the resort from being 4 Stars and certainly not the Luxury Escape which we booked.

Dear Dauvik, Thank you for taking the time to write of your experience with us. Unfortunately, in the tropics we are at the mercy of the weather which can be extreme at times, from cyclones to rain, including significant down pours. The culmination of which has slowed our ability to paint and work on the exterior of the buildings, as well as the roof guttering. Thankfully we are headed into the dry season and our maintenance team are ready. They haven't been sitting around however and worked diligently on the rooms to ensure they are as you say in excellent conditions. regards the team at Ramada

Unsure about the room. A 2 bedroom one if they have them, and down the far end from the bar (loud music some nights). We only tried dinner there once or twice, was average, and expensive. A lot of food places are expensive there. There’s a supermarket nearby and local markets so we bought snacks and our own breakfast to save money. The rooms have kitchens in them. Ripples on the Bay resort had amazing food and drinks. And not as pricey. Such a nice place!! I think it’s adults only though.
