Charming host in a functional B&B about 2 miles from the town. Large shared kitchen and a couple of shared bathrooms. Unit has at least 6 rooms so could get crowded. Bus route a few minutes walk away towards the hospital. Internet was a bit iffy when we visited and took a few days to sort, however the host did try his best.
Airport pickup organised through the host and he was very helpful in organising other trips.

We had a wonderful stay at Dayspring Lodge and Selena and Isi really looked after us and gave us a lovely welcome to Tonga. We were working at the hospital a short walk from Dayspring Lodge and it was very conveniently located. The breakfast was definitely a highlight with wonderful fresh fruit from the garden. We also had a lot of problems with transport and flights and the Dayspring team were incredibly helpful with this and accomodating. I would highly reccomend staying at Dayspring to anyone going to Tongatapu and especially those working at the Hospital.

I was born and raised in the UK and after graduating with my Masters Degree in Tourism I decided to take a trip to the South Pacific. I spent a very comfortable and enjoyable 12 days at Dayspring. The lodge itself is very clean and well maintained. It is spacious with 2 lounges (upstairs and downstairs) as well as a large kitchen/dining area and 2 outdoor seating area's overlooking the beautiful garden. I was delighted to learn that the lodge had free wifi which came in very handy during my trip. The location is ideal - only a few minutes drive away from town. There are also 2 convenience store's located on both sides of the lodge, which sell all your everyday necessities. Lastly I cannot emphasize enough the exceptional hospitality of the staff at Dayspring. They were very welcoming, friendly and would go the extra mile to ensure all my needs were met. The complimentary breakfast provided was always a nice treat to wake up to with a selection of fresh fruit, toast and cereal etc. Overall very good value for money accommodation and I would recommend it to students or even families. Thank you Dayspring Lodge! I will definitely be back in the near future!

My wife and I along with our daughter and son-in-law have just returned from a week's holiday in Tonga. The team at Dayspring really made our holiday with their generosity and knowledge of the island. Isi is a fantastic host and Dayspring is a wonderful 'home away from home'. If you are thinking of holidaying in Tonga then look no further than Dayspring. Isi will make sure that you have a wonderful stay.

ayspring B&B is in a very quiet neighbourhood, which is a blessing in Tonga where roosters can make your nights difficult. It's a 45mns walk away from the centre of Tongatapu but you can catch a bus close to the house (opposite the hospital, 2 streets away) that takes you in the centre in 5mns, so very convenient. Selina and Issy welcomed us in their very homely place and we felt very safe there. The room was comfortable and big enough. The breakfasts were very tasty and plentiful. Thank you for a wonderful stay in Tongatapu.

During my first trip to Tonga ever, I stayed at Dayspring Lodge for a total of two weeks. I recently graduated from University and have been doing some travel in the Pacific. Having been born and raised in California, it really was a culture shock to visit such a small island. I have to say that I'm so glad to have chosen a place to stay where I felt safe and comfortable.

The location is perfect...just a few minutes away from town. It allowed for peace and quiet, with the center of town being just a few minutes away if I needed anything. There are convenience stores/shops on either side of the lodge which sell phone cards, food, cold drinks, etc.

I looked forward to waking up in the morning, enjoying my free breakfast, exploring for the day, and coming "home" to a hot shower, dinner, and free wifi ;) It was very relaxing to hang out in the lounge areas upstairs and downstairs. I had the option of preparing my own food or having them prepare it for me...nice!

Overall it's a great value and I would definitely recommend to anyone who's thinking about going for a short trip or even longer.

Pros-----
-Immediately on arrival the hostess Mrs Faith and her assistant Henry (?) welcomed us in and was warm and friendly. They were very attentive and eager to assist in any way. She gave us a tour of the place, which was very homey and clean (you knew you were in someones house, not in a hotel.. in a good way) She offered us a fresh coconut, which she taught us how to open ;) Once we got settled in, she gave us great advice about the city and things to see and do.
-The room was pretty big, clean and secure. Shared bathroom with a few other guests staying there.
- The free breakfast was great
- Our hostess asked if we still had wifi data on the second day and when I told her no, she gave us some extra wifi free of charge so I could contact my family back home

Cons--------
-The location is a bit out of the way from the action but downtown/airport is just a quick taxi ride away. (We arranged for a taxi to pick us up really early in the morning on the day of our departure but he never showed up and we were close to missing our flight, Thanks to our wonderful hostess, she called a friend to come pick us up and take us to the airport last minute and we made it! A testament to how cool Tongans are, The dude was racing us to the airport, if it weren't for his speeding and Mrs Faiths quick problem solving we would have missed our flight)
- Shower water temperature was a little spastic, sometimes hot, sometimes really really hot lol could use some adjusting

Overall - Highly recommend this place. there are cheaper places and there are places closer to town, but I loved the atmosphere and the hospitality. After a month of backpacking the South Pacific, it was nice to be homey. I felt like I as visiting my mom. Faith had her daughters there and they were getting ready for school while she and Henry made us breakfast.. it was great : )

The highlights of my stay were the beautiful breakfasts, Sunday evening barbeque for guests and the wonderful host Selina with her positive 'can do' attitude the guests are sure to have an enjoyable stay.

Thank you Dayspring Lodge for another memorable stay.

Dayspring provides a homely, comfortable place to stay in Tonga. In my downstairs room I had a very comfortable bed and a good size room for my 3 day trip. A highlight was the breakfast of tropical local fruit, boiled egg, toasts and spreads and numerous cups of tea. The lodge is very secure for those women traveling on their own and has good, clean bathrooms and showers. Good value for money, l highly recommend Dayspring.

We spent four weeks at Dayspring Lodge whilst working at a nearby hospital. I honestly cannot fault the place. The room was clean as were the communal areas, we particularly enjoyed the balcony. Breakfast was included and was delicious and plentiful. The wifi was good, much faster than I was expecting. But the best thing was the welcome we received - thank you for everything again Selina, hope you are all well!
