Homely, clean, friendly. Accommodation includes a big breakfast. Fruits, cereal, eggs done to your liking bacon, sausages and toast. Its a generous Tongan serve. The staff are lovely, warm people. I would come here again.

This is a great B&B with excellent amenities, wireless internet, buffet breakfast and excellent and very friendly staff that are very willing to help. Bathrooms are across the hall but that's OK. Reasonably close to town to walk or TOP$5 in a taxi.

We stayed at Utu One in Tonga for nearly 3 months. Went in for 3 days liked it so much we stayed for our whole visit to the Island.
The staff was wonderful to us. We were fed and looked after as if we were family.
We stayed in the Suite and had our own bath, access to the laundry and great t.v. viewing.
It is clean and up to date. Now has new solar power system in place.

On our recent trip to Tonga we needed a last minute place to stay as we had missed our return flight to Sydney because of issues with the domestic airline. Staff at the local Air New Zealand office recommended Utu'one to us and we arrived there tired, dirty and in need of some TLC. We'd been travelling bewteen islands since 5.30am that day and arrived at Utuóne at 10.30am.
The lovely staff immediately cleaned a room for us, made us a breakfast and made us feel welcome and cared for. It was exactly what we needed.
Our room was large and clean with a lovely view onto the garden. The bathroom was across the hall and I never saw anyone else use it. The breakfast was generous and well prepared and the staff were all simply lovely to us, special thanks go to Mary, Tina and Lote.
Utuóne is a short walk to the town center, across the road is the working harbour and fish markets. Billfish and other restaurants are a short walk and the Catholic cathedral is across the road.
We had a late check out of 12 mid day and because our flight home was even later, we were able to leave our luggage with the staff and have a relaxed lunch down the road before heading off.
Tongans are generally happy, caring and friendly and the staff at Utuóne were especially so.

After two terrible nights in another accommodation we found this lovely B&B in the same road, nearer to town, cheaper and with breakfast included.
The hosts were so welcoming when we first enquired and we booked in immediately.
They gave us helpful advice on things to do and see, in particular we flew to Eua Island which was was one of their recommendations. It was just what we needed.
I cannot rave on enough about the cleanliness and friendliness of the whole establishment. If you are in Tonga well worth booking in at Utu'one B&B

I felt right at home at this beautiful bnb. Run by a lovely family who were ever so warm and helpful. Great location opposite a local market (selling fresh watermelon, mango etc) and great proximity to the water. I suggest hiring a bike and riding round to neighbouring beaches. The beaches are stunning and theres a great bar/restaurant up the road (the name escapes me, but ask at reception they will know the one).

Situated within walking distance of downtown, this B&B was a wonderful surprise after a long plane flight. This is a family run B&B that went above and beyond all expectations. The owner and staff took a genuine interest in our trip and time spent in the Capital; they helped arrange taxis and an island tour, and helped to locate travel services that we needed. The building itself was very clean with light airy rooms, comfortable public spaces and a relaxing garden. They made a full breakfast to order that was great. We highly recommend this property!

Sadly, this property isn’t as it appears on the website. Central location, a short walk to the main town? Actually at least 1 km. Just steps away from the deep blue Pacific? Actually across a busy road from an industrial wharf area.
It’s hard to know what this B&B’s business model is, but it seems that it caters less to tourists and more to long-stay workers. The group of Fijian civil servants staying while we were there thought it quite OK to have a party just along from our room until past midnight.
Simple maintenance issues in the room (e.g. missing light bulbs) hadn’t been attended to, and the cleaning was pretty superficial. It’s a pity, because this could be a nice property. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the home-cooked breakfasts quite adequate (as long as you like eggs).
There will be better places in Nuku’alofa.

Thank you for the feedback and apologise for the late reply. I am just now registered with TripAdvisor to be able to make responses to our customer's comments. I apologise if your stay was not to your satisfaction as we really take serious our motto: "Your Satisfaction is Our Aim". We are indeed steps away from the deep blue Pacific but with the wharf right across from our establishment and the market fair being held there every Saturday. Yes we are also indeed 1 km or 30 minutes walk to the main town which really is considered a very short distance, isn't it? There was no intention to deceive the public in any way I would have to say. These are clearly pointed out on our Website and video clip on Facebook. We do offer free rides to our in-house guests if they don't feel the need to walk to the main town, one only need to ask. Thank you for pointing out the missing light bulbs, this has been attended to and because no one is 100% perfect it pleases us when guests let us know of any oversights on our part so we get any problems resolved immediately. To have our customers happy and satisfied is our No. 1 priority. The group of Fijian civil servants are regular customers and they stay up to 3 weeks and on their last day they get together to celebrate their success over few drinks. It was not every night they party, they were too busy auditing and writing reports to have the chance to make other guests miserable. This group has been always good and considerate of others staying at the BnB but nevertheless they were asked by my manager on this particular night, when you were there as one of our guests, to keep the noise down as possible. We also take pride in our good reputation for cleanliness and good plumbing system in comparison to other bnbs and we certainly try keeping it up. We advertise "continental" breakfast which of course includes only cereals, fruits, toasts and spreads and beverages while eggs; bacons and sausages are bonuses not to mention drinking water available (24 hours),also foc. Thank you again madam for your feedback and truly sorry that we did not meet your expectation. God bless.

We originally had a few issues with Air NZ and getting our baggage to arrive... so had to stay here for a few nights before moving to an offshore island. In the few nights we stayed here, it meant that we didn't want to leave! Home comforts like wi-fi, a self-catered kitchen, and a comfortable lounge area, with air-con, TV and a fridge in every room - it really is a great place to stay. After coming back to the main island, we immediately checked ourselves back in for the rest of our visit. Extremely clean, Utu'one seems to distance itself from the cockroach population that has haunted us in other accommodations! The staff are very friendly and always make a great cooked breakfast for us. Overall, a great place for short or long term stays, with a range of rooms for all budgets. There is even the option of a fale, which is tiny, but equally clean and comfortable!

Thank you James, I will always remember you and your lady with the strikingly beautiful blue eyes. Apologize for the late reply. Thank you for your wonderful review of Utu'one. You were an easy couple to have the pleasure of looking after. So sorry to have you two move in and out between your room and the Tongan fale outside but you hid your disappointment well with a smile and that beautiful nature will always remain in our memory. Hope you'll come this way again. Malo'aupito, God bless you both.
