Hotel is situated directly across the road from Baie des Citrons - perfect for swimming, snorkeling or just watching the world go by. If you don’t want to stay in the big resorts, and pay big resort prices, this is definitely worth considering. It’s nothing fancy, but excellent for what you pay - very clean room, friendly and helpful staff, and the location can’t be beaten. Choose a “superior room” (higher floor, balcony, beach view) for a picture-perfect sunset view.

The only downside is that there isn’t much soundproofing on the balcony doors so the beat from the nightclub down the road can be annoying if you are a light sleeper. A couple of chairs on the balcony, and somewhere to hang towels, would also be nice! But overall these are minor.

Had a very pleasant stay over 3 nights at the Hotel Beaurivage. The location is fantastic right on the beach at Lemon Bay and plenty of restaurants and bars are within walking distance. The beach is great for swimming and snorkelling and is suitable for families with children. The rooms are fine and the views from the beachside rooms worth the slight increase in price. They are showing some wear and tear with scuff marks etc on the Lino floor, but it has all the basics that you need. No breakfast available, but the adjacent cafe offers it to hotel guests. To be honest I found the Babar cafe very average and I walked to the Casino Supermarket and the next door Boulangerie and picked up fresh croissants each morning at Port Plaisance. In addition the number 3 bus stops outside the door and is a convenient way to get to the city centre and Anse Vata. Just one thing to note that there is a nightclub nearby and if you have an oceanview room overlooking the street, you will hear some noise on Friday and Saturday nights. Also a shout out to the 2 gentlemen on reception who spoke good English and were very helpful and friendly. All in all a great lower cost option with a great location. Would definitely stay again if I return to Noumea.

Good clean hotel, great location on road overlooking beach. Reception friendly, helpful obviously French speaking, good English. Lift, in room WIFI, room serviced daily, usually after lunch (we were on 3rd floor). Room had a balcony overlooking the beach; recommended. No restaurant, breakfast, but shop, Patisserie, supermarket 5-10 minute walk , restaurants, cafes next door or 5 minutes other direction. Shuttles available from & to airport from reception, in house travel agency but much cheaper pre booking online. Recommended, would stay again.

Location is the highlight of this place. It has good views of Lemon Bay. However, the room that we were in had obstructed views of the bay because of a big tree. There were quite a few restaurants and pubs in the vicinity. The hotel room was quite clean and well maintained. Staff are quite helpful and polite and speak English and French. The only concern was with wifi which kept dropping every 10 minutes.

Clean hotel in the heart of Baie des Citrons, with plenty of restaurants in walking distance. (Would like to rate as 3 1/2 stars but not possible.) Staff were friendly and efficient, booking airport transport with ‘Arc en Ciel’ before our arrival. (Rental cars have street parking near the hotel, and we always found a spot.). The only ocean swimming allowed in Noumea currently is in a small roped-off area across the street. Lagoon View rooms, some with balconies, look great but are quite noisy unless you are a nightclubber yourself. After three nights of hearing the nearby club music until 3.30 am, as well as cars racing past and people yelling on the beach and footpath ALL night long, we moved into a garden room which was perfect for us. Management were quite helpful facilitating this changeover. Babar below the hotel had good food, and there are plenty of other dining options nearby.

A great hotel, generally new, smells nice, very helpful staff and situated in a great location. The reason why this missed a perfect rating is due to two issues that troubled us. We stayed here for 7 nights and from night 4 onward, we had cigarette smoke coming through the air con nightly and every morning from 6+ am. Very likely, the ac has a shared system and guests who moved in smoked in their rooms even though it isn’t allowed. We brought this up to a staff but she said it’s normal, anyway we took it in stride and tried our best to ignore this. The other reason is that the room is tidied very well daily but it isn’t exactly cleaned. The hair accumulation on the floor and the dead insect remained present for the entire length of our stay.

All in all I’d consider staying here again and take my chances with in-room smoking neighbours.

Dear Customer, We thank you for your comment following your visit. We are delighted to learn that despite the problems encountered, you continued to enjoy the Beaurivage hotel. This demonstrates the quality and professionalism of our teams. However, we are sincerely sorry to learn that you were intoxicated by cigarette smoke which is normally strictly prohibited at Beaurivage. We would like to point out that our establishment is non-smoking. Every member of the staff knows this and I am surprised to know the answer that my staff gave you! We understand that this has bothered you and I am truly sorry. However, we are delighted to learn that despite this disappointment, you were able to take full advantage of the services of our staff. Your warm words towards them are much appreciated and we will not fail to pass them on. Concerning cleaning, however, we spend every day in the rooms to clean them, your comment will be forwarded to our housekeeper. We hope to see you again soon at Beaurivage for another moment. Warmly, Flavie DEBIEN Reception Manager

Great room and location, very clean and the staff are amazing despite my terrible French. We could only swim at our beach due to the shark ban on swimming. The beach is amazing and there are lots of bars and restaurants that’s are within walking distance. I would recommend the supermarket near the marina for your essentials and food, however the bakery - l’atelier gourmand has the best pastries and sandwiches around. It’s a short drive to Anse vata but it’s worth it! Great pricing for the room and we would definitely stay again

We found the hotel to be very reasonably priced , we had a superior room overlooking the beach . Was a bit noisy but that’s not the hotels fault, it’s the main road and the beach . The facilities are fine , staff are helpful and friendly, but the Television is all in french - no subtitles even so that was a bummer in the evening but wifi meant we could watch stuff
Otherwise all was as advertised

This is a great value place. It is located in a top spot. Straight across from Lemon Bay - out the front door and cross the street you're right on the beach. Easy access to all the waterfront bars and restaurants. Short walk to Anse Vata and Latin Quarter is also walkable if you want.
The staff are friendly and helpful.
To note it is an older property and a bit of refurb would be great. Still, comfortable rooms, reasonable air-conditioning and fantastic high speed unlimited WiFi - free.

The hotel itself is decent and value for money. Michael at the front of staff was extremely helpful with local knowledge and impeccable English. Location is awesome, restaurant downstairs has awesome truffle burgers and our view of the Bay was spot on.

The downside is the club about 100 metres away which plays loud ‘doof-doof’ music until 3 am.

Unless, you’re a late sleeper then there is absolutely nothing wrong with this hotel.

We used "Arc en Ciel Service" from the airport to Hotel Beaurivage back in August this year. We ended up using them again to get back to the airport as they were fantastic. We booked it all online which also gave you a discount. We paid 2000 XPF (about AUD$25) per person. Hope that helps.

Does this hotel have a swimming pool?
Answer from TeeCee
Palm Beach, Australia83 contributions33 helpful votes
As above! No need for a swimming pool because the beautiful Baie des Citron is 30 mtrs across the road.... it's calm and the sand slopes away very gently so great for those who want to swim and those who just want to stand/bob around. There are modern showers to rinse under as well. It's so delightful watching the local families all enjoying themselves and having picnics. It's very relaxing, so different to Anse Vata which is very windy! We loved this spot.

Best way to get here from airport? Taxi...? Or airport transfer...?
Answer from TheAdventuresofET
Washington DC, District of Columbia106 helpful votes
The best way... obviously... is by taxi but it will cost you $100 or more. There is an airport transfer service company called Arc En Ciel and it cost about $30 per person. It's a shared transfer service that drops off passengers in the hotel areas in Noumea. The travel is about 40mins to an hour. To book, you can give them a call or via the service desk at the airport. They don't monitor the email / message box in their website. For payment, you have to pay through their service desk at the airport.
