Made the reservation though Expedia and asked for an airport transfer. The hotel never responded though the Expedia messaging system but did answer my phone call and were very communicative through WhatsApp.

The hotel is in a good location, the rooms are very large with loads of closet space. My room had a great view of the mountains!

This is an older hotel, so the AC was a bit louder than it would have been had the equipment been new. I thought about asking them to look into it but didn't. One of the lights didn't work, and one of the electrical outlets didn't work. The bed was comfortable but the linens a lower thread count than one might expect in a 5 star.

My Spanish is terrible. Although it was much easier to communicate though WhatsApp, all my phone inquiries were resolved as desired. In person interactions also went fine, but English is not spoken by much of the staff.

The pool and jacuzzi were the same temperature, about 85°, not nearly as warm as I would like for a hot tub. I had a wonderful Tibetan Massage in the spa. The exercise room was spacious, clean, and will equipped with free weights and machines.

The restaurant has well deserved great reviews with a few vegetarian and vegan options clearly indicated on the menu. It is open from about 7am until late in the evening and a robust buffet breakfast is included with the room.

I'd happily stay again. A note for travelers from the US: international flights into to Bolivia come and go see only from Lima or Bogata and only in the wee hours of the morning. It's a tough trip. Next time I'll spend at least a night each way in the connecting city. It will probably make the trip far more pleasant.

I came to a business event on the hotel with a group of 30+ people, and the facilities were perfect: the meeting rooms, the lunches and coffee breaks, and everything in general. The staff is very friendly and attentive to our needs.
I stayed longer to do tourism with my partner in the city and it was also great. The hotel is located near a cable car station (that connects easily to the center of the city), supermarkets, pharmacies and restaurants. The room was very comfortable and the staff was very helpful even after checking out, guarding my luggage while I was out and finding a couple of things I had forgotten in my room.
Overall it was a great experience and I would come back without doubting it.

It was a wonderful experience, I loved the careful attention of the staff who showed a lot of empathy, education and dedication to make our stay a pleasant one.
The suites are large, well lit, perfect temperature.
I liked the detail that each suite has its electric boiler plus a variety of tea , mates or herbal teas and instant coffee. The same at Reception where there is also some dough to accompany.
There is also the option to choose pillows of different shapes and textures at no cost.

I strongly recommend against staying at this hotel, not for the facilities, which are good, but for the attitude of the staff. My company were paying for my trip- the staff spent three days telling me each time I passed reception that they had not sent through the necessary details and that they would have to take a payment from me personally. I have two different concierges the company’s number and told them to get in touch. They told me they couldn’t get through. The evening before we checked out I called them myself, was immediately put through, and it transpired that they had sent the documents through several days before and the hotel staff had misplaced them. I told the reception staff we would not be staying there again- neither of them had th presence of mind to apologise, they just looked down and wouldn’t meet my eye.

To add insult to injury, we were told we could have two complimentary drinks- we ordered them on the last night, a lemonade and a glass of wine, only to be told the next morning by the same receptionist, estaphania, who had repeatedly insisted I would have to pay for the room myself that these drinks were not eligible and she refused to discount them from the bill.

Not only was there no apology but no effort to make amends and she continued treating me rudely. It is fair enough to say that they were suspicious, hostile, inefficient and lazy.

Perhaps the worst experience of my life! Talk about rude service, horrible room and a broken heating equipment that kept us awake all night!
It was supposed to be a romantic weekend, specifically told the staff that we were celebra our anniversary and requested a room with a view. In a city like La Paz that shouldn’t be difficult, right? You can imagine our disappointment when all we could see from the third floor room they gave us was half of the hotels entrance rooftop. We ask kindly to be changed room and we were told the hotel was fully booked (really?) but after a while of making our case we were moved to a different room. Please see attached picture! All we could see was a building, our heating system was so noisy we had to turn it off and both my husband and I got a cold. It honestly felt like the staff was bullying us. Unfortunately we booked the room in booking.com with a non refundable option and we had to stay there for the 3 nights we had paid for. You can be sure we will NEVER come back this place and we will NEVER recommend it to anyone. With so many great options around (Atix, Casa Grande, Met hotel) don’t waste your money in this place!

We appreciate your comments regarding the experience with us. We value the time it has taken. Our objetictive is to continuously improve and learn from each experience. It is important for us to understand how you have felt and allows us to respectfully offer an explanation. Occasionally, the availability of rooms on higher floors is subject to variations such as high hotel occupancy or room maintenance or incidentals. However, we express our sincere apologies that we have not met your expectations that this situation has caused in your stay. Having, in this way, offered the change of room to a higher floor depending on the availability of the moment to be able to satisfy your need. However, we deeply regret that this new room has also not been satisfactory in terms of view and comfort according to your expectations. With the commitment to provide a high quality service, we hope to have the opportunity to show you that your satisfaction is our priority in an experience of well-deserved excellence. Best regards Karem Lanza Quality Assurance

My husband and I had an absolutely wonderful experience here. Thank you SO much to the entire team for your hospitality. After a rather rough trip from the US to La Paz, my husband ended up leaving his cell phone in a taxi. Not only did the team track him down, but the owner was gracious enough to tip the driver for his time driving back to the hotel. Jose at the front made sure that we had a special stay (as we were there for our anniversary). Food was great and service was great. There is so much that I could say but I truly just want to say Thank you! Thank you to the owner and the staff :)

Camino Real was a nice place to rest after tiresome travelling in the night. My bed was big and comfortable and the temperature in the room was nice. Although there is a big street next to the hotel, my room was quiet. The bathroom was clean and there was hot water all the time. The view to the mountains was great.

As the hotel was not new, the lighting was not so good: just some lights in the ceiling, and the only switch near the door. Additionally there was a very weak night lamp beside the bed but it wasn't bright enough for reading. Internet connection was a bit weak, too.

The hotel has a good breakfast buffet, and the restaurant is good, too. There are some small shops and restaurants near the hotel but most services are a short walk away.

I didn't have time to go to the spa but my colleagues told me it's very nice.

If you want to rest well in La Paz, visit Camino Real Hotel, I love this place because I could rest pleasantly, it is located in the lowest part of the city. The hotel is very nice and the attention is amazing. And finally the most important thing is that the prices are very affordable.

Hi Melissa. Pardon the very late reply. Depending on traffic, I would say approx 40 minutes by car to the airport El Alto, La Paz. My departure flight was around 4 in the morning, and the drive took hardly 30min.
