I stayed I the Hotel Atix with a tour group. On both stays (at the beginning and the end of our tour) I had a corner room with beautiful views of the mountains. The room was spacious and comfortable. There was a refrigerator/minibar with enough room for a few of your own items. The gym was pretty basic but it was enough and you couldn’t beat the view! I didn’t check out the pool.

Breakfast was included in our room rate and there was always a good variety of breads, pastries, fresh fruits and vegetables, meats and cheeses. They will also prepare several types of egg dishes. Try the coca tea! It might help with adjusting to the altitude. We had dinner two nights in the hotel on our initial stay and one night on our stay before flying home- far better than the average hotel restaurant in the US and very reasonable prices.

The restaurant staff were particularly nice- when a travel agent who was helping us get home during the COVID-19 mess arrived to process our reservations and brought her little girl (the schools were closed), a woman in our group asked at the restaurant for some juice for the little girl , to be charged to her room. They provided it for free.

There is plenty to do in the area and it’s very walkable. The nearby supermarket (Ketal) is huge and a good place to stock up on provisions.

I would definitely choose this hotel again.

This hotel is on the new side and lovely with wonderful decor. I love that this is not a large hotel and is more boutique with personalized. The breakfast was very good with fresh juice every day and the service was very nice and friendly. The rooms were a good size, clean and there was a great shower.
Tips:
1) When I was there the weather was a little warm so the AC did not cut it, the front desk solved the problem and got the air flowing again. All you have to do is ask!
2) The location is in the lower area of Bolivia so it is far from the airport but it is in a hip area that has a lot of good places to eat and explore.
3) The hotel is about 4 blocks away from the green gondola to get around the city.

I loved the decoration and comfort of this hotel. Yes, it is a little bit far from downtown but you can get there by the green line of mi teleferico which is very close to the hotel. (It is a must to take a tour around town by teleferico anyway).
The booking process was very easy. Tania and Abril answered quickly to all my questions. Luis, the young guy who picked us up from the airport was wonderful giving us a tour of el Alto even though the traffic was really bad. Thank you!
We had to leave the hotel very early in the morning and they packed breakfast for us (sandwich, pastry, apple and fruit juice).

I had reasonably high expectation before my stay at Atix hotel from reading the reviews, but honestly, this was one of the most disappointing experiences (if not the most).

First, the wifi speed was unbelievably slow. Even at a restaurant in the city, the WiFi has much higher speed than that.

Second, we were exhausted from our trip in Machu Picchu so we tried out the spa. Note: the massage therapists came from some agency that the hotel has contact with. Extremely unprofessional, no force at all and my therapist was even streaming her tv show during the massage.

With the price that we had paid for, this has definitely not matched any of the basic standard and has made our experience at La Paz horrible.

This was part of a work trip extended to do tourism to Uyuni and La Paz surroundings with my husband. We only stayed here for one night, but it was the best afternoon in La Paz.

The hotel is located in a modern and high-end neighbourhood, which was very pleasant to walk around in, felt safe and offered a variety of interesting food and café options. The staff are fantastic - helpful, friendly and solution oriented. We had good to great experience with all, but Oscar stood out by going above and beyond in helping us retrieve forgotten luggage from Uyuni. The room was very comfortable, had a beautiful view and the shower offered a good spectrum of water temperature and pressure. This turned out to be the perfect spot to recharge in between intensive travel agendas.

The one thing I'd probably improve are the menu and the breakfast service. We had late lunch here and the attention was great and the food was good. However, we went out for dinner because we didn't find anything else interesting on the menu. Breakfast starts at 07.15 and the hostess reluctantly allowed us to serve ourselves from the prepared fruit plates and coffee, even though we explained that we had a short amount of time before our pick up and wanted to enjoy the food.

Unfortunately didn't get to stay but just wanted to highlight the excellent customer service - specifically from Abril.

We had to cut our trip short but both before and after this the hotel was a great help and very understanding. Abril was very helpful in organising a taxi from the airport, room requests and something extra for the honeymoon. When we had to cancel on the day of arrival the hotel was very understanding and we were able to cancel with no issues.

While we didn't get to stay, when we do go to La Paz we will definitely be staying here.

This hotel compares favorably with those I have stayed in as a businessman around the world. It is in a fashionable part of La Paz, near many restaurants and night life. The room is clean and well appointed, as is the bathroom. We did not hear any ambient noise except in the morning when you could hear (surprisingly loudly) the water draining from the shower in the room above. The views are dramatic. The linens are high quality. The art work in the common areas is extremely interesting. We did eat in the restaurant for dinner and breakfast. The food was quite good both morning and evening. My only complaint (and it is minor) is that the wait staff in the evening when we ate dinner did not speak English at all. This is surprising for a hotel that presumably is seeking an international business clientele. I would stay here again.

We were in LaPaz in Feb 2020 for a trip with friends. We stayed at the Atix and I am so glad we did. The hotel is really nice, good space, and a fabulous rooftop bar. Their breakfast was wonderful, fresh juice and fruit and options to order off the menu as well. They are in walking distance of the cable cars that get you all around the city, as well as a great little shopping/coffee/restaurant area. It is about an hour from the airport with traffic, but really once you get there, everything is easily accessible. The staff was helpful and we had everything we needed. If I ever find myself in La Paz again, I will not look for any other options!

The hotel itself is very lovely with some awesome, awesome views. Staff are friendly and their breakfast tastes very good. The massage therapist there literally put me to sleep - must see her if your in need of a good massage!! The rooms are very clean and spacious, and the pool (although very small) makes for some great views. The only downside to the hotel is that it is quite far from downtown La Paz where the different tour companies will pick you up from.

I stayed with my daughter at the Atix for several nights. It was a lovely looking pool, and although I'm a swimmer, I never stepped foot in it. Most of the time we left early morning and returned back late at night, exhausted. Eventually we got altitude sickness. This is not the first time I travel and don't swim, which is so odd for me, because I love to swim. In other words, stay at the Atix. You will not regret it. They are LOVELY. I would not go to another hotel just because they have a spa. The Atix probably has one.

It's in a good location in the sense that it's a safe area, grocery store and food options nearby HOWEVER it is quite a long way from the main part of the city, where you can explore markets and see quirky local cafes, etc. I stayed in Sopocachi on my first trip to La Paz and would choose that instead, given the option.
