This hotel is geared almost exclusively to large Christian tour groups and it works fine for those sorts of groups. But I wouldn't recommend the hotel for anyone else, certainly not for individuals visiting Jerusalem on their own. Location of the hotel is not particularly convenient for the individual tourist. Service is geared to large groups and not individuals. Food was satisfactory. Rooms are spacious and satisfactory as well. I did have a problem with the heat in my room not working - I mentioned the problem twice to Reception, yet it was never resolved.

Grand Hotel 10 minute walk to Old City. Our room had a mini fridge and a tea maker. We had 2 twin beds that were pushed together but they kept coming apart. The sheets were a bit rough, and the beds were not comfortable. The room was always too warm or to cold, we had to leave the window open to regulate the temperature this made the room very noisy from all the sounds in the streets. The shower had a half door and the floor in the bathroom would get very wet and slippery, there was no fan in the bathroom so the entire room would get humid after a shower. The sink clogged up easily. The outlets were loose making it difficult to plug things in without them falling out of the wall. Our room keys never worked and we had to go downstairs at least once a day to get them remade, it concerned me a bit that they never asked for identification to get new keys. Our stay included breakfast and dinner, at breakfast they did not start making eggs until 730 am and there would be a long line so if you needed to be on a bus by 8 you would not get real eggs. The food was not very good, with the exception of Friday night. One morning they did not have enough seats for our group. The hotel had a bar in the lobby, the bartenders were nice and the drinks were reasonably priced. We came with a tour group so we stayed where we were told, if I were to come back as an individual I would probably not choose this hotel.

The hotel is huge and caters mainly for the large tour groups. We travelled as an independent family so it wasn’t the best environment for us. Breakfast gets very busy when the groups are cramming in their meal before their day tour.
The rooms are clean and relatively spacious to allow a sofa bed for our teenage son. Our room faced the main street so it was noisy. The heating was set centrally so we had to keep our window open as it got too hot. Hotel service is minimal (ie no porters or concierge)
Main benefit is the location - a short walk to light rail and bus stops, and 10 min walk to the Old City. We didn’t have dinner at the hotel but do try and check out Sarwa Kitchen which is a 5 min walk away.
It was adequate for our needs (a place to sleep after a day of sightseeing) but independent travellers may prefer a more boutique hotel.

We stayed in this hotel for a few nights while touring in Jerusalem. The check in was very efficient, the room is very spacious with modern decor. There is free WiFi provided in the hotel. The location is convenient. You can walk to Damascus gate from the hotel. It takes approximately 15mins.
The breakfast in the hotel is mediocre. If you arrived on Friday, breakfast on Saturday is terrible there is not much variety to eat. On Sunday, it is much improved. However hot food is not really hot.
One evening I was asking whether I can have a late check out the next day. The staff whom I was not asking just tell the staff that I was asking "No". Then she has no option and tell me the hotel is fully booked next day. On the same evening, I asked my husband to ask, and the staff did say we can have late check out until 1pm. You can see how unhelpful The original team was.
In addition, there was one day when I come back from touring, at a common area near where water and juices are there for people to drink, there is a few sheets of paper staples together with people names and room numbers on this. In the current world, this is really an unforgivable mistake. The hotel really needs to tighten it's process particularly dealing with customer data issues.
Avoid at all cost !

The Grand Court is located close to Old Jerusalem and public transportation. The breakfast and dinner buffets are very good with a great assortment. The rooms are nice and consistent with other Middle East properties. The front desk staff are very friendly and the gift shop has a good assortment of items. We were able to get Dead Sea lotions for a LOT less than anywhere else. Only negative is that they do not supply, nor do they have, wash cloths. Bring your own if you want one.

I stayed in this hotel for about 8 days. horrible experience. Even though they say breakfast is included you are lucky if you get a cup of coffee with the line and crowded around you :1 tea machine and 1 coffee machine for 200 or more people. Early in the morning you can get green tea instead of normal black tea. whatever left from the previous day will be served. The workers are very very rude. Supper will be different based on your color. You will get the same type of the whole 8 days. Which it will be different with their own kind !! Room cleaning : they will put do not disturb sign and will tell as if you put the sign. when I talked to the reception they told me they clean rooms every other day. In this case i told them I want my room clean every day and change everything everyday. Customer service they told me they do not speak English, really ??!! how do you expect to communicate ? In general very bad experience, horrible customer service . unfriendly, racist. !!! trust me do not go there !!!!!!!

On arrival, we were watched by a man at the security desk hauling our large bags up the driveway. Oh no, no offer of assistance. That would be hospitable. He just stood there and watched as we struggled, occasionally looking up from his phone. When we arrived at the doors he asked several times, “checking in?” I finally replied, assuming he would welcome us and escort us to reception. Nope, he sat there and pointed to reception and didn’t move. NICE. So arrived at reception, the lady couldn’t have looked more annoyed to have guests arrive. It’s ok because she distracted herself chatting away with other staff who were leaning all over the desk ignoring us. She barked at us for our passports and gave us a key with no further information. Oh well. Israeli hospitality strikes again! The room is very very tired. It would have been nice in the 90s. The TV stations had to be manually re tuned as they were out of sync. The wifi does not work, despite me calling reception to ask if it’s working, she said “come down and I’ll show you how to connect”. I didn’t follow her advise, instead I joined the hotel next doors wifi with no issues. The room compendium says to go to a website to connect to their wifi. Don’t go there it’s a camera sales site. The heater is permanently set to heat in winter, when I asked if there was a cool option I was looked at by the receptionist like a looney. Pool is also closed in winter. Buffet breakfast was good, no room number checks or anything on entry and staff insist on packing all guests in close proximity to minimise their workload despite a HUGE dining area…covid what? You will regularly find all staff on their phones on constantly in public areas, in fact I’m sitting in the lobby now as the barman entertains himself on TikTok very loudly ignoring three customers. But he was able to get up and serve another staff member a coffee gratis…I can’t over emphasise how inconvenienced the staff seem if you ask anything. Luckily it’s the right city for crucifixions as that’s how you’ll feel interacting or should I say, interrupting their social gatherings. I have three more nights here, I wonder what’s next.

We stayed at the Grand Court as part of a Holylands tour with NewMarket travel from the UK. This was the final hotel on the itinerary and we stayed for 4 nights out of the 8 day trip. The hotel is huge and the ammenities and quality were first rate. The rooftop pool is wonderful and food served in the restaurant is the widest variety I have ever seen in any hotel..anywhere. This hotel caters both to local and international tourists and the food options reflect this. Location wise this is a good choice if exploring Jerusalem and the HolyLands, with buses departing from outside and a tram stop 5 mins walk away. Not much to explore within walking distance but rather a good hub to travel to the Old City and further throughout Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.

If someone is so unhappy to stay in this hotel, be warned to expect nothing at all from the staff. My checkin was accomplished by a girl in a steady bad mood; asked about finding some restaurant nearby she just showed me the door and told me to walk around. There was no water in my fridge, hence I called room service to order 2 bottles costing ILS 20 each. Only one was fetched but before bringing the second I had to pay, in cash, in advance. A ILS 50 was produced by me and the guy told me to wait for the order and the change. Another guy brought the water and was just leaving when I asked about the change. He said that no change was owed and a tough argument took place taking more than half an hour to be solved. Communicated about the issue the bad tempered recepcionist just heard as it seemed routine. During breakfast the guy in charge with the eggs was frying omelettes talking through mobile phone with no breake and paying no attention to the hosts orders. It looks like all the staff is aloof with hosts needs and rudness is the rule. If one doesn't care about being treated like dirt, that's the right place

We stayed here three nights. The hotel is very spacious and attractive, and is a common base for many tour groups. The lobby is a good lounging area and there is a bar that seems decently priced drinks. The hotel gift shop has prices that are better than what is found in the Old City or in Bethlehem, so a good place to buy souvenirs. The room had a lovely arched window overlooking a courtyard with greenery. The servers in the dining room are a little officious, and very insistent about seating times and insisting tour groups eat together, but the food has a lot of variety. Sushi was even offered one night!

Do it yourself Laundry facilities in and around Jerusalem are rare. Anticipating this we bought polypropylene underwear that washes easily and dries overnight, which it did in the dryer climate of Israel. There are lines on which to hang clothing in many of the hotels so it must be a common practice.
I don't recall sushi being at the breakfast bar, but that doesn't mean it wasn't there. There were many different items at the breakfast bar, although less than most hotels. I don't know the cost for an external visitor, but I'm sure the hotel could answer this question for you.
There are more places to choose from in the Jerusalem area.
