Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

The staff requested extra payments for several times. I had payed when I booked but they did not believe me. They kept insisting a new payment time and again. I presented an English receipt of the original payment through Booking.com, but I was just laughed at since no-one understood English. The only language the staff knew was Hebrew. They called Booking.com where the person did not speak English either. They asked for my banking account details to prove that the transaction has actually happened although it was not helpful since my bank account doesn’t speak Hebrew. The only relatively good thing about the accommodation was its central location.

What can I say, I lasted about 40 mins before deciding that there was no chance on earth I would be sleeping in this place, the room was filthy with stains on the walls where it looked like someone had been spitting from the bed and then let it dry, the carpet was sticky, the place had an horrible smell and the bathroom, well I’ll let you decide from the pics I upload, after telling the guy on the reception I was leaving, his only response was “no refunds” which at the time I couldn’t care less about, I just wanted to get out for fear of catching something , I’m not one to moan and if you check my other reviews you will see that most I put is positive things, but this place really was the worst, I left without finding anywhere else to stay that night but thankfully found a really nice place just around the corner called hotel litov which was great, had I not then my plan was to sleep in my hire car as this would have been a better option that staying at habira.

This was the first property I ever stayed at in Israel and I put my groups here for 2 consecutive trips. Finally, I could no longer stand the place. Nasty was the operative word for Habira. It has become somewhat of a joke after all these (now 13) years of bringing groups to the Land. After reading the more recent reviews, it seems things haven't changed. Funny thing is, we would gladly return if owners would make their property decent. Cleanliness would be a nice beginning. Attempt at a good breakfast would also help (worse breakfast we had in all of Israel). I wonder why this doesn't seem to matter. Too bad. If things change, we will gladly return for the location, if nothing else.

This hotel is in urgent need of total renovation. It is dirty, the furnishings are decrepit, the staff unhelpful, the food basic and scanty. It is way overpriced. If you are not planning to be in your room much and to spend all your time sightseeing, you may be happy or at least not too unhappy, but it is a miserable place to be. I would not go there again.

We went to this hotel on good luck, because its location is perfect close to Zion square and a 10 minutes walk to the Old Town. However, the rooms are dirty, the breakfast is the worst I ever had in Israel, and the staff is not friendly. Besides, it is way too expensive.

The hotel is absolutely dissapointing. Old, unmaintained, dirty, no facilities, miserable breakfast. Moreover, other than hosting tourists, it is also used for different purposes (...) The only good thing about this hotel is its location on Zion Square, ten minutes walking distance from the old city.

Although the location is excellent, the hotel is in poor shape and our room was not clean at all. In fact, there was a piece of old chewing gum stuck to the bathtub! The front desk staff was ok but not overly helpful. The "breakfast" was terrible - instant coffee, no juice, you get the picture... They did give us new sheets when asked (however, we shouldn't have had to ask).

Excellent location - Yaffo Street and Ben Yehuda Street are two of the prime destinations in Jerusalem, and HaBira is almost directly on the corner of the two. This also happens to be in proximity to many other great strips. The rooms in the hotel are very nice, with nice amenities and also very clean. The staff are very nice and are more than competent in English. There is also an elevator for wheelchair access. Coupled with the great rates, this place is pretty much unbeatable.
