We checked in, and after looking around the area we were in, did not expect much. However in the end the hotel really impressed us. Our room was amazing and very clean and comfortable. Nice sized television and balcony, and also an amazing rooftop to see the whole Haifa Bay.

The staff were very friendly and offered tips and information on where to eat and visit.

Would stay here again for sure.

When we got to the neighborhood, we were a bit underwhelmed. It wasn't as clean, new and vibrant as other sections we'd driven through. We consulted the internet for facts on crime rates, etc, deemed it safe and set about finding a parking spot.

After dragging our suitcase to the hotel, we were met by an extremely friendly man who barely spoke English but was a joy to try to communicate with. Despite the language barrier, he did a thorough job getting us set up and getting us to our room. We were in for a surprise! The room was spectacular - a huge bed with a single bed as well. Very clean, uniquely decorated and the bathroom was great! There were informative packets on what to do, maps to get around, etc. We visited the German Colony that night then headed back for a restful sleep - we needed it for the following day of climbing in Carmel Mountains.

We left early and found a different neighborhood! Vibrant, bustling and friendly. The Shabbat had closed everything down and taken people away... turns out it's a really lovely place!

Highly recommend for price, location, and customer service. The only downside was the parking. After driving down one way roads for ages trying to figure it out, we just parked on the side street by the hotel and found it worked just fine.

The hotel offered a generally clean room for a great price in a good location. Don't stay here if you are looking for a lot amenities, large bathrooms, are travelling with a lot of luggage or are a light sleeper.

There are a couple sets of stairs to climb, although the staff is more than willing to help out. Noise tends to echo in the hallway so you can hear doors opening and closing from your room. Parking is street parking and was ample on Sirkin St during the afternoon onwards, one block North (the lower street in elevation). Again the staff will go with you to show you where it is. Plan on arriving then if you want to park, as the non meter spots fill up during the morning and start to clear by afternoon. As others have mentioned, the area where you park looks shady, more so because its quiet and dark. We didn't experience any problems.

There was a flat screen tv provided with tons of satellite channels if you have the time to sort through all of it. The location of the property is about a 25 min walk to the German colony and a 5-10 min walk to the train station that goes up Mt Carmel.

The rooftop has a nice view and worth enjoying when you have some downtime.

The owner, Itamar, is some kind of a swindler. He seamed very nice before I paid him, but he changed his attitude once i came to the hotel. I had to beg for essential things like a fork or Knife. In most of his impudence, the owner told me to buy cleaning products so i can clean the dirty room he gave me.

Very unsafe for a woman. Drugs and
Alcohol all around.

The hotel was ok in general with fine breakfast nearby. I had booked this hotel for two nights in May 2013 with booking.com, but wanted to cancel the second night. We agreed with the hotel manager, that I will right a fine review for them and they will cancel the 2nd night on the day of the arrival, but the same day as I completed it upon return home, I was charged for the second night. I asked my bank to check if it was a mistake and it was not. I never believed in coincidences and this is definitely not the one. I would not recommend to stay at the hotel, where managers risk to damage their reputation for the cost of a one-night stay

We arrived at 9:30 p.m. and waited 45 minutes - everything was locked up!! We were three women left in the street with no where to go.We had no working phone, and no other choice but to go to another hotel. No one answered when we tried to call, so we emailed the Hotel to cancel two days later when we finally had access to a good wifi connection, and they didn't even have the courtesty to reply. Loui Hotel carged us for all eleven nights when we didn't even stay a single night. It was not our fault we had to cancel - the manager was a "noshow" which is what he called us - He told Booking.Com we didn't have proof we'd been there that night. Some hotel guests showed showed us their room, and it was not like the beautiful rooms pictured on the website. The hotel is old, in disrepair, dingy and dirty. I also found out later that they falsely advertise that the stay includes breakfast, and I wouldn't have chosen the hotel in the first place, had I known that. We ended up staying in a much nicer hotel at the top of Mt. Carmel for a better price - including breakfast.

Thanks to Tal, Loui M Hotel to have deleted my previous review which was only the reflect of what you can expect booking in that place:
- area is not nice at all, you will find slums just front of your window
- I found bugs and strand of hair in the bed, cleaning haven't been done, and I don't tell you about the bathroom and toilets... disgusting
- owner and receptionnist are rude and not helpful. Their english is as best as my 2 years daughter
- they tried to charge me much more that I expected

To sum up, this business is a real scam. The best advice that I can give you, go away and book in another hotel.

When we got there I turned down the sheets and there were black hairs between them. The were only changed one in the week we were there and then only when requested. We had to ask for a hand towel four out of six days. Wash clothes were totally unavailable. The shower was very small and part of the bathroom floor so it was hard to take a shower and not flood the whole bathroom floor. The bathroom sink was so small and shallow that if you turn the faucet on full force, you received an unwanted shower. The towels were threadbare and stained. The hotel was located on a one way street which made it very difficult to drive there every day. You had to drive a very long distance out of you way to go the correct direction on the one way street. We did not have water for two of the days we were there. The location was not close to anything important as far a good restaurants or attractions go. I could never go there again. Also there is no elevator so if you have a lot of luggage good luck with getting it up steep narrow stairs.

We made the unfortunate choice to book this hotel on Dec. 26th. From the beginning, we were lied to. Don’t let the fact that it shares a name with the Louis Promenade deter you into thinking this hotel is anywhere near that part of town. To call this a boutique hotel is such a misnomer, I can barely write this without laughing! This is more like an apartment complex for junkies. I have no idea where the pictures they use on hotels.com come from, but they are NOT this place! The location is in a VERY seedy part of town and if you have your own car, you will be parking on a very rough looking street filled with moaning junkies and prostitutes, located behind the hotel. The rooms have other’s hair all over them (floor, beds), pieces of old soap in the shower, urine still in the “freshly-cleaned” toilet, and a heater that barely works. Honestly, the worst hotel/motel experience we have had since we stayed right outside the Taj Mahal in Agra, India (which we expected to be shady). We were told they only had one room available (they had several). We were told it would take an hour to be cleaned (though this was already 6 pm and it took until 8:30 pm). We were told the ‘German Colony’ (restaurants, etc.) was a 5-10 min. walk away (perhaps 45 min or so as we never made it in 30 minutes). Returning to the hotel, at 8 pm, the room was still not ready. On top of this, our hotels.com reservation was cancelled by the staff so that they did not have to pay hotels.com the standard 10% of the rate and could instead keep 100% of the rate. I completely understand this but when they cancel our reservation, we also lose our credit for one night’s stay towards a free room; the reason we use hotels.com. Please save your money for another hotel. By far the best part of this place was the kind service at the front desk provided by the owner’s brother (though he was the one that made all the lies) and another nice worker. They were very sweet.

A surprising location for a hotel in a commercial street, but the location is within walking
distance of many neighborhoods of lower Haifa. The down side of the location is nosiness, especially in the morning.
Room was clean and spacious and comfortable. Has a mini kitchen, though we didn't use it.
The staff (owners) were very nice and helpful.
Included breakfast, served at a nearby restaurant, was excellent.

The "motel" in the name is completely misleading as there is no on-site parking. We did find a spot quite easily in the parallel street, though, but that might be a bit of a challenge during business hours.
