First thing that attract my attention was hotel's stunning view toward golden horn golf .
Hotel is located beside the street. Lobby is spacious and comfortable and divided to three parts, front desk lobby, bar in the middle part and posterior large lobby with stylish furniture.
There are only 2 little elevator at the anterior and 2 midsize elevators at the posterior, so that busy at rush hours!
Rooms are clean، with small windows and enough space.
Surprisingly there are no teabags, coffee and enough water!
Walls are thin and sounds of the neighbors is in the room.
Bathroom is clean and comfortable.
Corridors are designed with charming statues.
Restaurant is located on the roof ,but surrounded by large windows, and amazing view of golf.
Apart from middle quality of breakfast and crowded space, spending time with family at such a uniqe restaurant and taking fotoes ,comes to me as a dream.
Unfortunately waiters manner is not politely, and overall service of the restaurant isn't acceptable.
But staff of reception are helpful and able to speak
english, Persian and Turkish.
Metro station and bus station are close to the hotel.
So that you can go everywhere easily.
Walking to the galata tower needs only 10 minutes.
We love hiking so all the nights went taxim square by historical pera and istiklal streets, within 30 minutes.
Hotel have indoor pool and sps, but we didn't have enough time to use them.
In summary:
POSITIVE
Excellent location
Clean hotel
Helpful reception staff
Amazing view from seaview rooms and restaurant
Nearby bus and metro station
Value is affordable
NEGATIVE
Small windows and non soundproof rooms
Restaurant and elevators aren't capable of guests
Low food quality and serving manner
No free water, teabags and coffee in the room

I relatively recommend this hotel
I really enjoyed the stay at Grand Halic and was pleasantly surprised. The location is very central, so it is easy to get to some of the major tourist sites. Galata tower is very close and then you can walk around from there.
In terms of the hotel room, I think the beds were great, somehow the mattresses relieved me of my back pain, so if the staff could let me know exactly which mattresses they use, it would be great!
For the money, it was great.
Rooms: The hotel rooms are pretty clean and comfortable, room services were very efficient and rooms get cleaned everyday with new sheets and towels. Also room service are very quick when we asked for team, we got it in less than 10 min
Location: The hotel is located in a very nice place with a view over the golden horn, 5 min walk to Galata Tower and Istiklal Road, 2 min walk from Shishini Metro station and there is a bus station located right in front of the hotel gates
Food: Our rooms were BB, breakfast was pretty nice and consistent in quality
SPA: The SPA at the hotel was pretty nice, clean and convenient.
Rates: Finally, the hotel rates are pretty convenient and affordable
The front hallway may look classy, but the rooms are appalling. Black mould in the bathroom, broken room door lock, outdated furniture, fridge did not work, air conditioner was turned off (we were later told that it needs to be turned on centrally which left us with 4 hours of no air conditioning on arrival), rooms are not soundproof. View from the window is such that you are looking directly into other rooms.
The pool has multiple restrictions and rules. It is only available at specific times during the day. For example, the pool only opens at 14:00 PM and only a maximum of 4 people can enter the pool at any time.
Furthermore, the pool is located next to the spa (which according to the hotel team is rented by an external company). This means that hotel guests must share the space with spa guests (despite the fact that the hotel owns the pool) and therefore there is an expectation of silence at all times.
Unfortunately, we were not aware of these rules and therefore we received abuse from the spa staff. We were screamed at by a rude South East Asian masseuse. She was very disrespectful and abusive towards us, telling us to get out of the pool and asking whether we’re too blind to see the signs around the pool. When we asked for her name, she refused to tell us her name on the basis that we are not her customers.
When we complained to the hotel staff about her treatment of us and that we were upset about being spoken to rudely, the hotel staff lied about what steps would be taken (for example, they said they would speak to the manager but then didn’t when we asked). They also laughed at us and dismissed our concerns. Never in my life had I imagined hotel staff members laughing at a guest’s concerns.
Staying at the Grand Halic Hotel has been shocking – none of the hotel or spa staff understand basic customer service standards. There is no professionalism, only incompetence.
This place is anything but a 4* hotel. Avoid at all costs.
Breakfast is quite normal
Access to the metro is very good, but to access Taksim Square, you must take a metro station
The cleanliness of the hotel is not great, but it was not bad either
Toothbrushes and toiletries are not available in the room and you must ask for them to be brought to you.
In general, with the price of this hotel, you can choose a better hotel with better access.
Location of the hotel was handy. I mean there were both bus stations and subway near the hotel.Although it was about 15 minutes walking to Taksim Square, it wasn't crowded. Additionally, when we came out of hotel, the view of the city and the beautiful sea was awesome.
Our room was standard and so clean. It had also air conditioner and heater.
Overall, my sister and I were so satisfied, and had a great week in Grand Hotel Halic.
The location of this hotel was great,
The hotel staff cooperated with us regarding the room problems.
Breakfast was satisfactory,
Rooms facing the street have a better view , But all the rooms are small,
Daily charging of water and coffee in the room is done regularly and Wi-Fi is good.
We were at this hotel from November 17th for 6nights. It was absolutely amazing and enjoyable for my fiancee and me... Due to covid19, we could not throw a party in our country, so we decided to visit Istanbul for our honeymoon. I Want to appreciate to an MRS Burcu she is the receptionist and totally helpful. She gave us a Seaview room.
Additionally, the hotel's location is overly great, 50 meters to the metro station and 5 min to taxim square.
Breakfast was so enjoyable, and it was a buffet and warm...
The staff was very nice people.
I highly recommend this place to stay with you all guys.
