I stayed at Pera Palace in October on a trip to Istanbul and I could not have been more pleased with the hotel and its location. In the heart of Beyoglu, Pera Palace was walkable to so many fantastic restaurants and shops. Despite its convenient location, it wasn't noisy at all and the thick windows ensured a good night's sleep. Our room had beautiful high ceilings and a super modern bathroom and we also appreciated the bottle water and PPE they provided upon arrival. We loved the breakfast and made reservations to use the gym. This is a historic gem that should be at the top of your list if you're hoping for a luxury option within walking distance of many of the sites

We chose a delux room, overlooking the Golden Horn, which was every bit as nice as we had hoped. We had a small balcony with a table and two chairs so we could sit out and admire the view if we wished. The room was spotless and a chocolate appeared each evening with the bed turning down service.
All the staff were attentive and nothing was too much trouble. We would especially like to mention the Maitre D in the bar and his lovely assistant Esma Murat.
The hotel is excellently placed for any amount of sightseeing you would want, and in our 6 night stay we saw and did everything including a trip on the Bosphorus!

Spent a night here and loved it . The staff are friendly and professional . All hygiene protocols have been adhered to with free masks easily available. The location is ideal for anyone wanting to take a walk to Taksim , Galata etc and the Pera Museum is less than 2 minutes away. Breakfast was an assortment of Turkish favorites and was elegantly served. My room with its balcony had a lovely city view and the shower with its seat had to be my favorite aspect of the room. Taxis are easily available so no need to wait . There is nothing to fault in this fine establishment

Very beautiful European style hotel with an interesting history. The amenities were nice. The staff was professional and accommodating. The breakfast was delicious and they brought so many different kinds of Turkish foods. It was in a very walkable neighborhood, close to restaurants and shops and many of the historical places and attractions. If you go during the pandemic, rest assured that they have very good sanitary and safety practices in place. Staff members wore masks, they had sanitizer readily available, they provided masks for guests, provided the means for social distancing in the public areas.

I chose the Pera Palace basically because of it's history, first time in Istanbul so wanted to stay somewhere nice. The hotel itself is located in a very nice area and I was whisked in to reception, met with a warm greeting and swiftly checked in.
The room facing "The Golden Horn" was in excellent shape, nice size and large bathroom. I always appreciate hardwood floors.
Room was quiet and the mattress excellent, pillows slightly too fluffy.
Breakfast was served outside on the veranda and it was lovely, I chose the Turkish breakfast, lots of food! Loved the "cream" and honey on fresh bread. Excellent service. Had a late dinner there one night with friends. they had a live band and the place was packed. They managed though to get us a table as we were staying at the hotel.
I really enjoyed staying at the PP, the area opposite the hotel is packed with small restaurants serving delicious food. Very secure area with lots of families strolling about, even at midnight!
Highly recommend the PP, terrific hotel, excellent area to stay in. 15m walk to Taksin Square and 10m drive to the shopping area where LV, etc are located.

I stayed one night in this hotel because I considered it an emblematic one for Istanbul.
After I was accommodated, my impression is of disappointment, compared to what I expected (but not upset), maybe because of the measures and effects of the pandemic.
In essence, the hotel looks deserted, no one was in the beautiful lobby, I only saw a few hotel guests, possibly because it was the end of August ...
I will start with the weak points, the most important thing is that the atmosphere is desolate, the hotel empty, the pastry shop closed during the summer, a variety of modest sweets on the terrace.
The minibar has only plain water, the slippers are not of the quality you expect at 5 stars and at for the price paid, they are not personalized (with the name, the hotel emblem), simply some slippers that you receive at any 4-star hotel, even the shower gel is insufficient (it was just a small container, not 2 or 4 as you find in self-respecting hotels).
My friend, with whom I was and recommended it to me, liking him when he was, said that he does not compare to what he was once (a few years ago).
However, the hotel is well maintained, has a special history and a friendly staff.
We did not serve breakfast, having left before serving time, but we asked and they prepared a breakfast for us which we served at the airport.

Pera Palace is a classic grand historical hotel and if you bear in mind that the hotel was built in the 1800s you will therefore forgive it sometimes peeling on the edges. It cannot be compared to a new blank canvas modern luxury hotel which Istanbul has many to choose from. This hotel has tons of character and true history from famous guests that stayed before and unique architecture features and proportions for example beautiful high ceiling rooms, coving and endless velvet curtains that are simply unique. I stayed in a classic room which had beautiful views, a lovely balcony. Despite the room being a normal layout with a simple shower, which was old but well maintained, I have enjoyed the visit very much. The location is fantastic, especially at night time when you can step out to the street which has many restaurants and shops with a true carnival feel. The gym was decent and suitable for all my needs. It was only missing a roller and a mat. The breakfast was okay but in today's standards was not amazing. It felt a bit too communal dining room rather than a unique dining experience which you would expect judging the rest of the property and its ambiance. The lobby and its various seating corners are beautiful and a great sport for meeting and for coffee breaks in between shopping. The staff were always helpful and in general the stay provided an authentic Istanbul feedback.

The hotel was in a great location. We were close to shopping, the Galata Tower, great coffee shops and restaurants. The staff was very friendly, specifically the night manager Levent. Levent was very helpful making sure we had what we needed.

The inside of the hotel was beautiful and luxurious. The garden area had a large space and great cocktails. The staff were very accommodating for the large party we were with.

Part of the time my partner needed to work remotely and we had issues with the WiFi connection. My usage was minimal, since I spent most of the time exploring, but ran into a few WiFi issues.

The hotel offered a service where we were able to have someone come to our room for the COVID test we needed for our return flight. This was a very easy and convenient process.

Our room was right next to the elevator and the outside noise of the bars on the streets made it difficult to sleep before 2am. We could hear the noise outside of our window quite clearly. If you aren't planning on sleeping before 3am, it shouldn't be an issue. The bed sheets were extremely comfortable and we slept well once the noise from outside settled down.

The shower in our room was very nice and large. A friend of mine had a very nice bath tub in their room on the same floor as us. I'm a big bath person, so I personally wish we had a room with a tub as well. (All the other rooms were booked up at the time)

We stayed for 5 nights in a room overlooking the city. The hotel is full of character and really well located in the heart of the Pera district. It’s 3/4 mins walk to the main shopping street. To get to the Sultanahmet district where the main historical sites are is 15 minutes (25/30 Turkish lira) in a taxi.

The hotel staff are very warm and friendly and helpful, especially the concierge.

Our room was well equipped, clean and pleasant and to a standard you would expect in this type of hotel.

The only slight negative would be the breakfast, which is limited compared to offerings in other 5star hotels. It’s a small point but the were at least three different sets of crockery in use at the same time which looks poor and doesn’t match the standard.

I’m glad we stayed there, it added to our Istanbul experience with atmosphere and character that a modern hotel simply can’t equal.

I reached Istanbul Airport by Turkish Airlines from Tokyo. Direct flight. Just 25 min by taxi to the hotel from the new airport. (200 TRY) Pera area is European area in Istanbul. The gentle and friendly staffs welcomed me at Pera Palace Hotel. After checking in 411 Room of the hotel, I enjoyed visiting Blue Mosque and Topkapi museum and Ayasofya museum from the hotel by taxi, just 10 min driving. (50TRY) Taxi is safety and reasonable price in Istanbul. I recommend the guests to use the taxi. After enjoying artistic sightseeing for 3 hours including lunch at the restaurant in Topkapi Palace with beautiful view, I returned the hotel. My room, 411 is Agatha Christie Room. After just 10 min sleeping, I went to the pool and sauna. Wonderful!! Clean pool and jacuzzi! Dry sauna and mist sauna and Turkish sauna! Marvelous Spa! After swimming, I went to the shopping street 3 min walking from the hotel. I enjoyed good food and shopping of Turkish goods. The hotel has good breakfast at Agatha Restaurant. Recommend Pera Palace Hotel. No 1 Hotel in Istanbul!!! Happy and Fantastic Staying for everybody!
