I cannot say enough good things about the The Story Hotel Pera and the staff. They did absolutely everything possible to make our stay comfortable, make sure we saw the best of Istanbul and always felt welcome. We stayed at the beginning of our our holiday and then again at the end - best way to start and end a holiday. Would definitely stay again if we are in Istanbul and highly recommend.

Perfect location, Wonderful staff. Four of us stayed at the Story Hotel for 5 days. The location was terrific as one of the most interesting pedestrian streets was just around the corer with the Galatea Tower only minutes away. I would easily stay in this part of Istanbul again. This hotel is not large and the rooms vary depending on the price point. My sister-in-law had a room without a view of the outside and it was small. My wife and I and daughter stayed in the top floor room that was larger and included an outside balcony that had a view of the water. The hotel’s lobby is the very small with just a single hall that leads to the elevator and the five floors of room. Our room had nice Air Con and a TV that worked well and a bathroom with a great shower, all amenities you don’t always find in a Turkish hotel. The real draw here is the staff. All the staff from reception to those who cleaned our room were amazingly friendly and kind. This is the first hotel ever that offered us for free a hotspot we could use so that as we traveled around Istanbul we could stay connected via wifi. This hotel offered us a free boat ride and then when the ride fell through and did not go as planned, they offered us an alternative ride and a free trip to the airport when we checked out for any “inconvenience”. It was clear the staff liked working here and were proud of their hotel. All of us appreciated our daily ‘chats’ with the staff as we came and went.
I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is excellently located in the city center, very close to major attractions. The room was spotlessly clean and quite spacious, we actually were offered a free upgrade to a superior room which was such a delightful surprise. Speaking of nice and unexpected surprises, the gentleman from the reception offered us a mobile device (like a small router) to have with us during our daily trips around the city, basically to have free Wi-Fi even when we were not in the hotel. The signal was strong and the speed was very good, even when we travelled by boat to Princess Island. This was important to us, as out phones don’t support e-sim and we didn’t have to buy a separate Internet SIM (around 25 – 30 EUR otherwise). All hotel employees speak a very good English and the communication was excellent. The hotel is centrally located (we used Metro transportation from the airport, approx. 1 hour 40 minutes long), close to Sishane Metro station (exit next to Tunnel tram station). Also, in the welcome package the gentleman gave us a few recommendations for tasty local restaurants (both for breakfast and dinner, as the hotel doesn’t have this service on its own). The first recommendation was for a restaurant just across from the hotel, and it was so good, than we actually eat there every breakfast and dinner during our stay. The breakfast is served starting 8.15 AM and during dinner hours it was quite crowded on all 3 floors. The restaurant is called “Varuna Gezgin Cafe - İstanbul” and the food is absolutely delicious and the staff is very nice and polite. I am vegetarian and I had a lot of options there, including a delicious salad with haloumi and pear which was to die for. Beer and wine are also available. I would definitely come back again in the future and I cannot recommend it enough, both the hotel and this restaurant (see attached pictures also). Enjoy your stay!
P.S. The ONLY small thing that we didn't quite appreciated was the mattress which could have been softer, but this might be just a personal taste. Really, nothing else comes to my mind.

I very much enjoyed my stay at the Story Hotel. It is ideally located - around the corner from Istanbul's major shopping street, close to the tram and Metro, and within walking distance of a number of museums (including the Pera Museum and Istanbul Modern). The hotel is very quiet (despite being near the big shopping area), the rooms comfortable and attractive, and the staff extremely friendly and helpful - they provide a list of local restaurants, and the ones that I tried (including the one directly across the street for breakfast) were excellent. I would be happy to stay there again.

I had a very pleasant stay at The Story Hotel. I interacted with 3 different gentlemen at the front desk each time I was coming and going, and they were all very respectful, friendly and helpful. Istanbul can be a tough city to get used to, and they genuinely were there to help with making any arrangements or to give advice on what to do or how best to navigate the city. I am sorry I can't list all of your names, but you know who you are! My room was super nice, spacious and clean. They provide you with a few water bottles everyday. Small things like this were a nice touch. You don't want to drink the tap water in Turkey, and it's not expensive to buy it, but it was helpful to know when returning each heat-filled day, that there would be a couple of fresh bottles there waiting for you. They provide a lot of helpful information at check-in. I went to many of the restaurants from their list of recommendations and appreciated the heads-up they give of some scams to look out for in the city.

From the moment you step into the door you are greatest with such warmth. I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. It was small but had everything you needed. Great for kids and family. The room is stocked with water daily, fridge has wine, beer soda etc for purchase when checking out. There were also snacks. I stayed in room 501 with a beautiful terrace view looking over a beautiful scenery. I would definitely recommend and stay again. Ohhhh, I forgot the price was right.

We loved our 6 night stay at this hotel. All of the staff were amazing, very friendly and were the best from our 5 week holiday around Europe. Our room was large, with a couch and looked over the street but is very quiet given that it was only a few steps away from busy Istiklal street. We enjoyed the bottled water, coffee and small cakes provided each morning. The room was serviced daily. The hotel is in a great location for exploring all parts of Istanbul and getting to the airport. It was close to the metro, inclined railway (handy at the end of q busy day) and the tram. The hotel is very close to many restaurants, a supermarket, bars and shops - everything you need. Highly recommend this hotel to anyone going to Istanbul.

Without a doubt one of my favourite hotels in the world. The service was better than I have received anywhere I have ever stayed, including some of the most luxurious hotels. The staff went out of their way to care for us from the moment we stepped inside the door and offering a free mobile wifi for our entire stay to allow us to have mobile connectivity whilst we were exploring the city for our three days; to walking us personally to a local restaurant for dinner. All of the staff speak English very well and made amazing recommendations for everything we were looking for. The care shown was 6 stars. The location was amazing with so many local restaurants within a few minutes walk to being on the mani shopping mall. The room was large and spacious and spotlessly clean. Nothing was ever too much and we were greeted with a smile every time we passed through the doors. We will only ever stay here when we visit Istanbul again. Thank you so much for making us feel like we were at home.

It was a lovely experience staying at the Story. The staff was incredibly responsive and helpful. On my day of departure, it was Labor Day and the streets were blocked off. One of the staff members took my luggage and accompanied me through the streets to a taxi stand and translated my requirement to the taxi driver. The room was nice and clean and also quiet - I did not hear outside noise in a very busy area. They also helped coordinate a lovely Turkish bath appointment. I would definitely stay there again.
