Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Great location in downtown Dushanbe, right in front of the Opera house. The hotel is a non-renovated soviet era building.Rooms start at 150 somoni and are old and worn out. Most have bathrooms, but our was not in a good condition (lack of water pressure in shower, loose tiles, water on floor). Some of the beds are small, hard and uncomfortable. Lack of heating during winter and cooling during summer (some rooms have fans). Loud disco in the right part of the building. Staff are friendly, but their english skills are quite limited. Bottom line: You get what you pay for.

It's cheap and we ended up staying there twice in July 2012- right next to a lovely shashlik and fountain square (which I believe was being refurbished in 2013) but it wasn't exactly luxurious.

We had major issues with getting the water supply to the room and ended up helping the facilities guy with a bicycle pump to get it to work. It is a wonderful old soviet building although it could do with a bit of TLC. Very odd to have a floor lady as well but its all part of the experience.

it was very well located for getting to the airport and the bus stop to go to Khorog though, and you can easily catch a bus to go up the main street too which are all plus points.

Hotel is cheap, 180 somoni (36$), and is in the city center just right the Opera House. Rooms are clean, and if they're not you can easily ask to one of the women always walking around. Bathroom and shower working properly, even if a bit messy after use. Few people speak english there, but they're all willing to help
