Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

As a canadian traveler and first time traveler to tajikistan, I have stayed in hotels in toronto, montreal, calgary, alberta, British Columbia(victoria, kelowna, pentiction, oliver, whistler), Kenya, Amesterdam, Duabi. Istiqlol Hotel worths every penny for what you pay and what you get. A pervious customer review writer, Radiowallah, no desrespect for you, but let me ask you something. Have you been in other hotels in tajikistan except hyatt or serena? i looked up few other hotels before i came to istiqlol hotel. Door frame were not recessed into the ground in other hotel that i went to too plus god gives us two eyes for a reason. How much you would be paying at hyatt or serena hotel? easily double the price so the expection has to be hight. staff are with no english or little english but they are super helpful. "2 speed hot & cold running internet" interent works fast and there is a router on every floor. the minute i got to the hotel, i need the interent to get connected with my family on skype to use video calling and i had no problem with connecting to the interent or with internet speed. did you know what is one reason why we canadian or US people are mostly fat (i am not fat myself, just an ironman)? i believe it is the the too soft sofa and beds. I loved Istiqlol Hotel beds and they are not that hard. i am planning to stay in this hotel for entire 30 days and maybe extend my visa to 45. other thing i love about this hotel is the super big garden that it has and feels fresh especially in the morning. park bench if you like spending time in the evening or morning. as a triathlete i normally wake up 5 am and smelling the flowers early morning is super refreshing. $130 - $140 is not a bad price for big rooms with twin beeds, free interent, free computers in every room, free computer use at the lobby and free printing, average gym. as a photographer, i will more likely i will add few photos later on. radiowallah give me a bad impression and i was going not going to come to this hotel and now i am glad i give them a try. i hightly recommand to other travelers.

Big rooms, hard beds, (although surprisingly fluffy duvet & pillows) most staff with no English, limited food offering, 2-speed hot & cold running Internet.

Not to mention the small & moody lifts with the snappy doors & no open/close buttons. On one journey I stopped virtually halfway between floors, and had to step down two feet.

It is an official government hotel according to the invoice, and it shows. I stayed there because a conference had filled up the Hyatt & the Serena.

Be careful when going into the front door of the hotel, because the door frames aren't recessed into the ground. My colleagues were constantly tripping on it, and I broke a heel (...and I'm a guy!)

Pricey for what it is at $140 a night.

On the plus side, Dushanbe is a surprisingly pleasant city.
