The Hotel Meridian is lovely. A very large guest house that makes the large hotels seem more expensive than ever. Every guest room has TV with 500 channels. And a desktop computer with wired internet connection - for free! Telephones are there if you need them. The desk clerks speak moderate English, and go out of their way to help. Need something from the store? Just ask and they will have it delivered. Registration with police? No charge.

So what isn't so good? Breakfast is typical and without anything special. But the cooks take special requests a day ahead. And the location is well off the beaten path. In respect to city center. There are plenty of shops and local restaurants within walking distance but you will need a taxi to reach night life and large restaurants or friends at hotels.

Still, it is the most pleasant hotel I have stayed in over 4 years of visiting Dushanbe. And only 80 USD per night.

I stayed here one night at the end of the tour. The room was very large with twin beds and a huge bathroom. Very comfortable to stay and the breakfast offered a good choice of standard and local items. There was no bar but the room had a mini fridge. The hotel did some washing for no additional charge. Pleasant and helpful staff.

One of the things I worry about with these new ventures is how well the property is then maintained. Hotel Meridian is doing well, with most of the infrastructure still in excellent condition. During this visit I had a room with a jacuzzi. I had previously stayed in a room where the jacuzzi did not work. This time - it did!! And it felt great! The desktop computer was not connecting to the internet - I mentioned it to the front desk, and when I returned 3 hours later it was working!

I guess the point is that the staff listens.

Breakfast is eclectic. Over the months many guests have influenced the kitchen (All 2 of the ladies). If you find a way to ask for something the day before (like talking to the front desk) it is likely to be at breakfast the next morning!

The front desk will also help you to call and have food delivered from the Southern Fried Chicken restaurant or the Merve Turkish restaurant.

It really is my home away from home in Dushanbe. When I had to stay elsewhere a month ago, I felt a bit lost. It was good to get back "home".

I only stayed one night here and for 80 USD I received a really small room with very weak wifi connection. No lifts! They neither understand English nor Russian very well at the reception. Problems paying with cards as well. They managed to break my Samsonite suitcase when they carelessly dragged it down 3 floors. Of course they pretended as nothing and just through my suitcase in the taxi. I discovered first at the airport that one wheel had fell off. Unbelievable that staff in a hotel manage to ruin my suitcase.

I stayed in this hotel for seven nights whilst on business. The premises are situated a little out of town but cabs are cheap. The hotel itself is modern and very clean. Reception were very helpful, even ordering me pizza when needed and supplying tea. My room was clean and of a good size with a comfortable bed and a large jacuzzi bath, which was a surprise.
Breakfast is Tajikistan style so not to my taste but there was bread, jam and tea so I was happy.
Definitely one of the better hotels in Dushanbe.
Recommended.

After driving through the Pamir Highway and sleeping in basic Homestays and Guesthouses for nine days, this hotel was a kind of luxurious prize at the end of the journey! (I could finally do the laundry! - it's free of charge).
This place is located in a quiet cul-de-sac within walking distance of the Ashan City Mall (ten minutes on foot) and the Opera and Rudaki Ave. (a twenty-five minutes walk, more or less). The grid of lanes around this property is poorly lit at night, but I still found it to be a safe area, like the other parts of Dushanbe I visited.
The front-desk staff was kind, professional and spoke English, while the reception area is spacious and has a touch of international hotel.
The impeccably clean twin room I stayed in was huge, very pleasant and tastefully equipped with good-quality wooden furniture (the kind of room you would take your mother to). It's true that there was a computer as well, but I didn't switch it on (there is good wifi, so that was enough).
The ensuite bathroom was also very spacious, clean, modern, and there were toiletries, pleasant towels, bathrobes and slippers.
I liked the breakfast-buffet too, which included some hot choices (even pizza slices!) and was really satisfying. However, with reference to dining options close to the hotel, they are unknown to me given that I always had lunch or dinner somewhere else in town.
I really hope to return to Dushanbe, so if I can afford it again, I wouldn't mind at all staying here again :-)

This is a great value hotel in Dushanbe. Located in a quiet part of the town, Meridian is a small boutique hotel surrounded by a lovely small garden. Staff is very friendly and accommodating. The rooms are very clean, spacious, well equipped and tastefully decorated. Bathroom was surprisingly huge and had jacuzzi (!). Good quality breakfast with a decent selection of dishes. Internet connection - a bit patchy. Overall - highly recommended!

I have stayed here on a number of occasions and have always been very well looked after. The rooms are large and have tea / coffee making facilities, bottled water and are kept very clean. The internet connection is stable but slows down when the hotel is busy. The staff are always very ready to help and breakfast, whilst it doesn't change much, is more than adequate. The hotel is not on the main roads which - for me - is an advantage since it's relatively quiet. You will have to be prepared for the typically central Asian style firm mattress which in this instance could be more accurately described as solid. I ended up using the spare duvet in the wardrobe for additional padding. It provides excellent value for money and the free, reliable and well organised transportation to and from the airport is a great touch. So as long as you have a strong back and enjoy a 'firm' mattress I can recommend this hotel.

I stayed here for several nights on business recently. The location was recommended by my hosts, so I accepted their recommendation as many others before me had stayed here. Pros include free/included transport to and from the airport (they were waiting at the exit to customs with a sign listing my name), the included breakfast and free secure wifi. Staff generally was very friendly, although their understanding of English is somewhat limited. The rooms are large by international standards and include a separate sitting or "tea" room. Biggest con was the bed, which unfortunately was extremely uncomfortable. After a few hours of laying on it I got up to inspect and realized that really it was just a box spring with a small, 1/2 inch pillow top laying on top of the box springs. If you're only here for maybe one night I guess it wouldn't be bad, but after a few nights it really does a number on your back. Literally I had to turn over every 30 minutes because the springs beneath me had started to impact some part of my body. They have mini split HVAC systems in each room, although housekeeping kept turning it off during the day when they serviced the room which can make it chilly upon return now that it is getting into winter there. The bathrooms are large with walk in showers, but again when servicing the room they never once replaced any of the toiletries or left an extra roll of toilet paper. The included full breakfast is decent, although as mentioned in previous reviews they seem to serve the same thing every morning which can become tedious. I did have a little trouble at check-out where the clerk tried to pressure me into paying via U.S. dollars in cash. He kept pretending that my credit card was declined or didn't work, but after explaining that if he wanted to be paid he'd have to figure it out eventually the card worked (amazing!) and I was on my way. I do recommend making sure they know about your arrival/departure times because it is not unusual for flights from Dushanbe to occur at very early times (i.e., arriving at 3am or leaving at 4:30am). They do have security and exterior cameras around the hotel, as well as bicycles for free use by guests. Although the rooms come with computers, I never once was able to get mine to work properly so I just opted for their free wifi on my smart phone.

Stayed here for one night, it is in a residential area and not the easiest to find the first time. It was clean and decent size room.
Breakfast was decent with enough options and helpful staff.
The only down side was the noise from the yard coming into the room, security and other staff, also guests can be in the court yard and having a conversation and you can very clearly hear their conversation.

There is the Turkish restaurant Merve on the main road which is 10 mins walk.
