Detailed Reviews
The price of the hotel was really affordable, the item which is the bottom line for the most of travelers.
Also, I really liked the behavior of workers and guys at the reception, specially the woman who worked in the kitchen. All in all, they were very warm and needful. In the case that you need help (like taking a taxi, writing an address in Armenia, or finding a good restaurant) feel free to ask them, they will become very happy to help. In my view this item was important bc in the town you probably find people a bit un-friendly and very unfamiliar with English and usually taxi drivers will charge you a lot if you will take a taxi by just standing near the street and waving your hand. But, the receptionists can take you a good taxis with predefined rates per kilometers.
And for its location, it is not near the downtown; however, it was not also so far (around 20 mins). The rooms of hotel were not enough spacious and the speed of the Wi-Fi was somewhat low.

We spent five nights in this hotel and the total experience was very good. The bed was a little uncomfortable but OK and the bathroom did not have good toileters. Breakfast was very good and a totally different experience than other hotels. Staff were friendly and nice. The hotel is not located in downtown but it is near the metro station which can get you anywhere in a few minutes. I recommend it.

I have lately been to this hotel. I liked it very much. Everything was good for me, the service, the people and the hotel itself.... What I liked most of all was that wi-fi worked there, To be brief I liked everything there, I know where to stop next time I am in Armenia . And I have also recommended this hotel to all my friends.

The SD hotel is a recent addition to the Yerevan hotel scene. It offers clean rooms with modern décor but has a few failing that require attention. All rooms are up stairs and for some the climb without assistance or a lift may prove troublesome. My room in common with all others faced the morning sun and as such was bright and clean. It was bright even when the curtains were drawn closed since they were formed with thin material and more importantly were narrower than the window they were meant to cover. A first class shower room had one major drawback in that the floor inside the shower cubicle was highly polished marble as was the flooring outside. Extreme care was needed to prevent an accident, it would be so easy to lose ones footing either inside or stepping out. Like many former soviet locations there were no plugs to retain water in the sink. There is a bar but there was little sign that it was or indeed had ever been operative. The bar area also doubled as the breakfast room. It housed just four 4 person tables and I suspect you could on occasions find yourself sharing breakfast with others. The actual breakfast was excellent, certainly better than most on offer in the smaller type hotels, it was very very good. The new furnishing were all made from a very dark wood, to my eye they were less than inspiring, the word drab would come to mind. There was free wifi but in truth it was useless, at least during my visit. English was spoken at reception but not elsewhere but the staff were anxious to please and made every effort to offer assistance. The hotel is located some 10-15 mins from the centre and very close to the main station and the metro. The area is quiet and safe.

It is a newly renovated (2013?) hotel near the main train station. Its rooms, although somehow pretentiously decorated, are clean and spacious and have comfortable beds. Pluming, especially its smell and drainage ability, leaves to desire. It is a good inexpensive base if you are planning to do short trips around Armenia.

Conveniently located a 5-minute walk from Sasuntsi Davit station, which has a metro stop to the city center. You can also walk to the city center, though it's not a quick stroll, albeit interesting.
They strongly persuade you to pay for your room in cash, I presume to avoid credit card fees. They accepted US dollars, which saved me the hassle of changing it or withdrawing from an ATM.
The building and rooms feel very Eastern European, and there is a lot of echo due to the tile floors and high ceilings. Breakfast was nice, especially the service. There is cheese, yogurt, toast and rose hip juice available on the table, but the cook will also make you a hot dish ... sometimes fried eggs, sometimes sausage, sometimes porridge, depends on the day. And they'll serve you hot coffee or tea as well.
Front desk staff was superb, especially Artyom. Thanks for making my stay in Yerevan so enjoyable!

The location is very conveniently right next to the main railway station from where you can get to the centre in about 10 min by subway. The neighborhood is quite peaceful. The Erebuni ruins are just 15 min walk away from the hotel. Remember, in Yerevan most of the sights and to-do's are within walking distance or close to the centre so you really want to stay either at the centre or near the subway.
The staff was really friendly and helpful. They for ex. arranged a taxi from and to the airport and made sure that they charged me reasonably (taxi ride was 4000AMD/7,5€ one way). Breakfast was served by one of the owners(?) and was sufficient enough including a warm dish, bread, yoghurt, tea. The staff speaks relatively good english and is able to arrange a driver to give you tours around the city or the country even.
Room was clean and comfortable, with a clean bathroom (patience with the shower, it needs a few minutes;). The A/C could've worked a little better and a some noise from the street at night. Other than that I can't complain about anything.
The hotel has a free Wi-Fi which worked fine, much better than the few public Wi-Fi's that were available in the city. You might want to arrange cash for the payment though as the connections may not work properly. There's an ATM right by the railway station.
In overall a very nice hotel not far from the centre, great value for your money!

I stayed 2 nights in a double as a couple.
The location is not central, but it can be convenient for traveling because it is a short walk to the central train station. This means that the city center is 2 stops away by metro. However, the area itself lacks attractions and feels especially seedy at night.
However, wifi was not working when we stayed which was inconvenient. The bed was only covered by a single sheet and the room smelled strangely of cigarettes and a public bathroom.
The positives are that the bathroom itself is actually clean and easy to use with a modern shower. Breakfast is basic, but includes a hot dish served by an extremely friendly staff worker.
I was traveling with a boyfriend fluent in Armenian, but would otherwise have had issues with communication in English. Overall, I have stayed at other hotels in Yerevan that offer a better value and experience.

The location of the hotel, close to the railway and metro stations, is a major advantage. It is easy to get into the city centre, and while there is not much in the immediate vicinity, there's nothing unpleasant about it either. From the time of booking, hotel staff were helpful, and arranged a pick-up at the airport for 4000 drams. This went off just fine, and on arrival I was made to feel welcome.
The room was clean and functional, but a bit spartan. A bit of low-level lighting would not go amiss, if only to make the room feel a bit more welcoming and make it easier to read. The bathroom was also clean and relatively modern, but could do with better ventilation. The fridge in the bedroom was welcome, the air conditioning efficient, and the wifi worked no problem at all.
Breakfast was served on the first floor and was quite a considerable spread, with cold meats and cheese, plus a hot dish being served (whether you asked for it or not). It was only a small area, so one or two guests would often have to share a table with others, but this was generally quite a good way of getting to know other guests.
I would return here if I was to visit Yerevan again, the location of the hotel being the key factor here.

We got into SD Hotel because the hotel we originaly booked was full. I believe these hotels work together. The breakfast is great, but that's the only thing great about the hotel. The street is really loud, rooms on the first floor are even louder because that's where the kitchen is. The smoke detector was producing some very strange sounds.
We moved to another hotel after one night.
