The Orchid is a hotel where they try very hard to do their best. The personnel are friendly and approachable and nothing is too much trouble, they really do want to do as much as they can for you. I have to elaborate a little on their breakfasts because so many Vietnamese hotels try but fail to please their western guests in this regard. Not the case at the Orchid where they really do provide an "international breakfast" buffet with impressive results.
The building is relatively recent in construction and the rooms are generously proportioned although some of the light and bathroom fittings can be less than perfect. Prices are reasonable and this is a place where good value is not in question. Location, like its rivals, across the river from the old city in "new Hue" ensures no shortage of bars and restaurants nearby. A good place to stay.

This is my second visit to Hue and Orchid Hotel in 6 months and my sister and I received a very warm welcome. The staff were as attentive and helpful as ever and I was impressed by the receptionists' command of various languages including English and French. Tours were arranged with a minimum of fuss, and the drive to Hoi An was was especially smooth with Luke as driver. Kudos to all staff and management of Orchid Hotel.

From the time that we arrived until we left, the staff looked after our every need. The service level was excellent. Our transfers and tours were organized without a hitch. The laundry service was efficient. The hotel shuttle driver that drove us to Hoi An spoke English well and stopped along the way to show us a few sites (the vehicle had WiFi - a big plus). The rooms and the hotel were clean, and the breakfast was good. The beds were a bit firm for me. It is situated right in the middle of the tourist district making it convenient for bars and restaurants. The 7th floor provides a view of the area and the large windows make the room bright. A 10% service charge was added to the bill and 2% is charged to use a credit card. I rated the hotel 4 but I would have rate it 4.5 if it were possible. I would definitely return and recommend this hotel.

The hotel is located close to the river front and on a street which becomes pedestrian only after 6 pm. There are quite a few restaurants and small pubs around and during the days we stayed (Christmas eve), the street became very noisy. However we did not get disturbed by the noise in our room.
The room was quite big with a wi-fi router inside the room (so a good strong wi-fi); the attached bathroom was comfortably big as well with all amenities.
Breakfast was average.
The staff are super friendly, and we only saw smiling faces and eager to help attitude right from the time we checked in. The staff were very helpful when we enquired about local specialty restaurants and their suggestions were really good. Lin from the reception desk warrants a special mention.
Excellent hotel, where we will stay again if we revisit Hue.

Good service at the reception and people who care of the luggage. Rooms and bathroom are good and clean . Breakfast was very good and you can ask eggs on different style. The area around this hotel is full of restaurant ans shops. The taxi to Hoi An that i order at the reception was a litte bit expensive compare with the prices that I saw i the streeg after my order. Reason is meaby that the car was a litte bit bigger than the cars that you order in the street. I can recommanded this hotel for your stay at Hue

I stayed at the hotel for one night and had a great time thanks to the very attentive staff, including Viet Anh, Linh and the other ladies whose names I unfortunately don't remember. I arrived in the early afternoon when the staff was having lunch and was immediately asked to join. When I returned from my tour the following day (after checking out), I was asked if I wanted to eat something and when I left for the airport, Linh insisted to help me carry my bag to the next intersection to catch a taxi (they tried to call a taxi but didn't succeed and I had declined the offer to book a car through the hotel). I was upgraded to a family room on the 6th floor. The room was spacious and clean. The bathroom was a bit old (some corrosion stains on the floor and some cracks in the bathtub) and the water pressure was a bit low but this didn't bother me given the price of the room and that I was only staying for one night. The hotel is centrally located, so it's easy to explore the city on foot (if you don't mind the slightly chaotic traffic ;-)). As mentioned in other reviews, there were different breakfast options to choose from and everything was freshly prepared. I can definitely recommend staying at Orchid Hotel!

The best thing about this place is the staff. They were so helpful and friendly and added a real touch of personal service that you wouldn’t get elsewhere. They gave us really helpful advice and took care of transport, laundry and even motorbike hire for us. The bike hire was extremely good value costing 100k dong or around £3.50 GBP! The room was a good size, clean and comfortable. Great location. Breakfast was fresh and tasty, eggs and pancakes cooked to your requirements. Thoroughly recommend, particularly if staying on a budget.

I am new to the whole world of trip reviews contribution and I have always preferred to be an observer. However, my fantastic experience at the Orchid Hotel pushed me further to contribute to the good fame of this hotel. I have spent part of my Vietnamese journey in this hotel in Hue and it felt like a true homestay. Starting from the welcome, we enjoyed a fantastic location (15-20 minutes from the imperial citadel) and a true Vietnamese breakfast service (Bun Bo Hue, fruits and rice cakes). The location also turned out to be a walking street area during the evening, closer to the best restaurants of the area. The service of the hotel was also amazing. Besides the help and the kindness, Emma and John (the two hotel employees who checked me in) realised that it was my birthday at the moment of the check in and they made a little surprise party in the evening (you can check the pictures). I can only recommend this place if you want to stay in Hue if you wish to visit this part of Vietnam.

Travelled with a large of group 27 people and Orchid Hotel accommodated my friends and i really well. Even though we arrived late at night and left early in the morning, they welcomed us with fruits and the check-in and check-out process were very smooth. Special thanks to Emma, Kaity and Harry for their bright smiles and responsive service to all our problems during our 15 day stay. Would definitely consider coming back here if i come to Hue again.

After 2 weeks in Vietnam, this is the most friendly service I encountered and the nicest decorated room also. I arrived in the morning as I had taken the night train from Ninh Binh, and was just expecting to leave my bags in the reception and go out sight seeing. However, the receptionist was able to check me in early as the room was ready. Fantastic!
The breakfast was great, with excellent assortment of fresh tropical fruits (including my favorite, passionfruit). The room had great amenities, and I was happy even without a view (I had a 'no window' room) because the room itself was nicely decorated.
Finally, the staff was lovely to negotiate a private driver for me to visit Vinh Moc tunnel and drop me in Da Nang (as I didn't want to do DMZ tour). Location is also great, steps away from many bars, restaurants, riverside and spas. I walked to Citadel in 20-25 minutes.
Will definitely stay here again if I ever return to Hue.

We thought the breakfast offerings were delicious - lots of choice for both eastern and western tastes - served by the delightful Chau who also spoke very good english. Loved it all. And wifi was fine although didn't use it much for the time we spent there. Also our room was fabulous. Am sure you will enjoy!
