Hotel's Favourite
It's always great when you can feel like you're splurging, without actually splurging. For what you get, the price is more than reasonable.
And what you get is very well designed, clean rooms with a view. For starters. The little things make a huge difference - like the fact that the AC is *not* blowing directly over the bed, making for a much more comfortable stay. Or the fact that you can leave the AC on while you leave. Real hotel slippers, not reuseable flip flops.
The pool area is superbly designed -large and airy, open to the city, but shaded from the blazing sun.
Staff is very accommodating, and the exchange rate was the best I encountered anywhere.
And the breakfast -I'd gotten used to some disappointing breakfasts on this trip, but the Melia's just blew me away with the variety and quality. There's even a scale in the room to let you know how much weight you gained from their superb breakfast!
Mattress could be softer, but pillows were very good. And it's not really a free-bikes-and organized activities kind of place. They found a way to accommodate the bike I rented elsewhere, but generally that's not the kind of clientele that comes here. They *can* arrange tours, but they're pricey. Better to do that separately.
Still though. 5 Star experience overall!

A stunning and beautiful modern hotel, smooth check in with drinks and then a corner room on the 19th floor with a breathtaking view over the city.
What a way to start our trip to Hue. The GM personally welcomed me and always made a point of asking if everything was ok if he met us.
We loved our room and bathroom and although it is a fairly large hotel, breakfast was always managed well and there was a very generous buffet catering to all tastes.
The pool area is beautiful, even if it is indoors and we also had a spa treatment that was wonderful.
Top marks for the personnel on the rooftop bar. The drinks are wonderful, we had an amazing salty coffee up there too and they were welcoming and very friendly.
The hotel is located a short walk from downtown and the river.
We would definitely return.

Service friendly and efficient.
Rooms clean and comfortable, well appointed and huge bed.
Breakfast extensive - more choice than you’d ever need.
Good location for getting around Hue.
Easy walking to lots of bars and restaurants, as well as the old city.
The public airport minibus (50000 vmd/person) stops 1 minute walk from here (the taxis will generally try it on with tourists and charge 400000+, which we hate on principle).
If you need a very quite room, ask to be on the side without the terrace bar below as it’s noisy till midnight.

Good business oriented hotel. Kindly accommodated our early check in. As we were on holiday I would've preferred a later finish to the breakfast than the 9.30am that was offered, but no biggy.
Ate at Prime, steaks were well cooked but lacking a bit in flavour. Beautiful setting though.
Nice gym, yoga studio, indoor pool and spa facilities.
We were visiting during the time when coronavirus was spreading across the world. The hotel made it very clear they were taking extra precautions with cleaning the hotel, checking guests temperatures and get them to use hand sanitizer on entering the restaurants, bar and gym. All reasonable. However, my stay was soured when the hotel informed us we needed to move for the last night of our stay. The reason for this was that they wanted everyone on the UK on the same floor because people were anxious about the British after a recent flight from London brought new cases in. Not sure how that was going to control spreading of the virus when you could freely move in and out of the hotel?!? Even after we explained we have not lived in the UK for four months, irrationality prevailed and we moved to the 'British' floor. Strange times seem to bring about some strange customer service.
I am sympathetic to the uncharted times we find ourselves in but I would have expected a hotel chain of this size to have handled the situation much better.

+1
Two days ago I had my first disappointing dinner at The Prime restaurant (floor 33), first time from the hotel became part of the Meliá hotels chain, coincidence or not, probably I never will know it, because after this time probably I will not consider this place for special occasions anymore.
This was my fourth time here (6 people family dinner) and as always we tried the Sky Dining Menu. To be fair, previous dinners were wonderful (almost perfect to me and my wife) but this time was VERY disappointing in almost every sense.
Though pictures speak for themselves (I made a comparison of my last dinner in 2021/11 and now, both were Sky Dining Menu), I would like to comment some things.
Disappointing started with salads. Both options were very normal, actually the chicken salad was meh (no seasoning and not special at all) while the salmon was delicious but with a terrible presentation (see how fancy looked the same salad in 2021). In the salad picture also you can see how the fresh juices have changed in the time, from a fancy look to… well… just a glass of juice.
Soups were delicious as always (pumpkin and potatoes), but presentation was veeeeery poor in both cases comparing how they used to serve the soups before. It’s hard to believe both pictures are from the same restaurant with less of a year of difference. Sometimes little details make huge difference.
Main dishes were Surf and Turf and a Fish with an unique texture with Risotto. The first one was just a (not so good quality) steak (bad cooked in two cases, two medium well that looked like medium rare, very red) with a shrimp and some bold vegetables with a delicious mushroom sauce. Honestly it was not impressive at all, and considering in 2021 in this same menu they served a premium quality steak (smaller) covered with a gold leaf, you can see how they have decreased the quality of this menu while they increase the prices, because yes, now prices are much higher. As I booked a table in advance I got a 20% off, I paid 649K p/p for the menu (price is 800K p/p without booking. No drink included). Just as reference, in 2021 the same menu was about 450-550K without need to book in advance (though the restaurant used to be empty due to lack of tourists).
Probably after this (expensive and disappointing) dinner, I doubt I will eat here again soon and personally I would not risk to order a la carte considering how poor a 800K menu looks like in 2022.
It is still the restaurant with the best view of Hue, but views are better from the Sky Bar and just a drink is enough to enjoy the landscape.

Being a regular world traveler , l can say proudly that l consider this hotel the best l have stayed in , based on price , perfect service , amazing food & restaurants. All staff have gone out of their way to be of great service , and the morning breakfast was so great. Anyone staying here , or even not staying here MUST eat at their Prime Restaurant on floor 33 - there simply could not be a better restaurant anywhere for view and service. Being a regular visitor to Hue , l shall become a regular guest now. Thank you to all the wonderful staff.

First time stay at the hotel and kind of disappointed for a 5 star hotel. When checking in, staffs did not warning us that there will be a concert and events at the venue next door and on the hotel balcony, 7th floor, for the next few days. We flew in extremely tired and need down time for relaxing and sleeping but loud speakers noise kept us up all afternoon and late into the night. We were extremely unhappy guests and demanded front desk to move our room to the river view which is the opposite end of the hotel to gey us quiet time. Furthermore, bathroom was not high quality workmanship, shower water pouring out onto the floor due to loose glass door and electrical plugs are loose from the walls. The only positive I can say is the buffet breakfast was good but not 5 star scale. The reception lobby is very standard, lack of decorations and food or drink counter service that make guests feel welcoming and relaxing for travelling from far aboard. With that said, this hotel should be 3.5 star at best at internationally standard. I would only recommend if you get a good deal for under $100 per night.

For some reason the Hue Vinpearl was much cheaper than many other in vietnam so we decided to give it a try for our two night stay in Hue. There are other hotels closer to the river but the vinpearl was not too far and if you also wanted some down time then this was a great choice.
The pool was nice, although full of kids when we were there and would be good if windows were all opened as feel a bit enclosed. There is a water cooler in the gym you can use to refill water and save all the plastic bottles.
The spa was running a promotion for a mini package that was great value and a fabulous experience.
The rooftop bar was a bit on the pricey side but worth at least one sunset drink.
The rooms felt luxurious, with comfortable bed and a large bathroom. Super annoying that there is no where in the shower to put your own products. Would stay again when visiting Hue.

Melia Vinpearl Hue has a luxurious design. It has a modern space and convenient facilities to make guests here have the most relaxing experience. In addition to comfortable modern furniture, rooms here have enough disposable personal items for hotel guests. You can experience special services here that not all hotels have. The service attitude of the reception or any of the hotel's staff is also extremely professional, making customers feel comfortable.
