Hotel is 3 star and shows its, had a deluxe room facing the main road and river. Hard to sleep due to the traffic noise but once you get used to the noise its ok. Room was large with two single beds, bathroom needed a good clean with bleach and the shower curtain needed to be washed/soaked as it smelt like stale wee. Shower and bath combo and is very narrow, bath spout and shower head are placed in the worst spot. Staff were ok, could be a little more happier, three staff at front desk and not a smile between them. We were there with our tour group, so not booked by us, breakfast was included, not much of a selection when we stayed there. I would give it a miss or just have a baguette. Location was OK walking distance to some tourist spots. Aircon worked well enough. Housekeeping was OK. As I mentioned at the start, its 3 star and thats exactly what you get. Don't expect to much when you stay here, its just a place to sleep. The Hotel could really be amazing with just a good clean, better kitchen, happier staff and a coat of paint. You can see that it was a lovely hotel in it's day, but those days are well gone. Pity

Visited this hotel on a tour, starting in the south and heading to the north. Vietnam had only just reopened following covid, the hotel was extremely quiet with limited drinks at the bar and roof top closed due to lack of tourism. Having said that the staff were very friendly and did everything to make us feel welcome.

Bathroom was tired and required redecorating but understandable due to the lack of tourism and the price of the room.

Okay if you are on a budget!

This review is tricky. I want to hate this hotel so much as it’s old, awful carpets, ancient furniture, noisy, smelly and very poor facilities. There is no spa, the restaurant and bar on the 4th floor doesn’t exist. However the location of this hotel is fantastic and the view over the river (if you don’t get an internal view) is amazing. Breakfast is average

Do not trust the single 5* reviews or the pictures on the booking sites!
This is a tired old place. The "suite with riverview" I booked for $70/night was a larger room with a seating area and a partially obstructed riverview due to an ac unit. I could have done better for this amount.
But breakfast was ok and the restaurant staff friendly. Housekeeping did a great job at keeping the room tidy and the linen fresh.
The front desk person who checked me in obviously couldn't understand why a solo traveller would book a room that could sleep 3.
I would stay somewhere else despite the prime location.

A lovely old building overlooking the river but that’s where it ends. The Hotel is very tired and old, the room is very basic (although clean).
A request for a one hour extension to check out was met with a charge of 50% of the room rate. I told them not to bother, why would you even think about charging this amount for one hour. A very poor customer experience I thought.
Next time in Saigon, I’ll look elsewhere.

The location is good, a few blocks away from several attraction (opera, market, cathedral, post office, museum) and the hotel has a decent breakfast.
The room are awkward with separation and noisy AC. The bathroom were minuscule, outdated and unpractical. I am certain there are better options in the same area.
I would not stay there again.
On the positive side, the hotel is on the main street by the water (crossing the street is an experience), it has a nice architecture, nice and wide grand staircase, great facade.

Old, dirty and tired. This was booked as a part of a package holiday. Upon entering the room the curtains were closed. A word of advice, keep them closed. The view was of a rickety roof looking onto the impoverished doors of the rooms on the other side of the hotel. Staff were friendly and the hotel was in an excellent location. After accidentally getting off on the wrong floor I went to what I thought was my room. The key opened this room.

We arrived with a tour group. We stayed two nights now we we had a break in between and did a home
Stay so had to move
Rooms and check in twice. Both times we had to wait at least half an hour in lobby to get our room
Keys. The bathroom was disgustingly mouldy also. The staff were not very friendly. Over priced drinks. Great view from
Top however.

This is a dated hotel that is fairly cheap but comes with free extra mould in the bathroom. I could not bring myself to sit in the bath tub. The TV was fuzzy so couldn't watch anything, the aircon broke down at one point. The breakfast was OK. Location is only good thing going for this place! Was happy to check out. Would not stay here again.

I don't know how I missed some of these reviews, I think I got confused with Hanoi. This isNOT worth the money. It is old, small, extremely noisy and way overpriced. Location sucks because it is right on the ring road with traffic all night. Avoid at all costs.

Thanks! I actually heard back from the hotel with answers to my questions. Breakfast starts at 6 and double bed isn't a problem. Also, when I booked the room through Agoda, the site/voucher warns about Vietnamese law that forbids non married Vietnamese nationals and foreigners staying in hotel together. That is a legitimate law.
Answer from Shaharum A
Kajang, Malaysia
The were many restaurants that serve foods and beverages just around the block, or within 5 minutes walk from the hotel.
