Perfect stay for a week at Buffalo. Very social with free beers and pub crawl every night and a mix of Western & Vietnamese food available at the restaurant. Rooms and bathrooms were very clean with curtains and plugs/storage on each bed.

Buffalo organised all ours trips to Ha Giang Loop, Halong Bay and Ninh Bing at competitive prices which were all without problems and the buses provided were very comfortable/premium.

Thank you for organising our stay considering there were 8 of us - We will be back in the summer!

Had a good stay here. Centrally located to everything in the quarter, the manager is friendly, and there is a lobby where you can hang out and meet people. The rooms were quite decent and private rooms spacious. They have an elevator that goes to the rooms and there is always someone available at reception. The water pressure sucked in both the showers and the toilets. The swimming pool is small and pretty useless where it currently is too.

Stayed here as we were doing the Ha Giang Loop. I definitely recommend going through buffalo hostel for this trip.
In terms of the hostel itself, the lift was far too small. And you have to still walk up and down stairs to get to each floor even with using the lift, not disabled friendly, or ideal in general. Staff great and friendly. Beds were good, bathroom was good, lockers were big however make a musical tune when opening so isn’t ideal during the night when people are sleeping. Same to open the room door. Breakfast was okay.

Situated smack in the middle of beer street, it's a busy hostel that people kept coming & leaving but there are enough staff to cater to your needs. There 's free breakfast buffet which is not just the usual bread & jam (there are potatoes, salad and noodles/rice). At night, there's free beer when place gets social but you can also keep to yourself as there are comfortable nooks (cushioned sofas near sockets for charging). No issue with cleanliness & comfort. If anything, bathroom can just get chilly because they leave window open to maybe ensure good circulation.

The location of the hostel is good it is in the old quarter. The staff service is good. The only barrier is the English language everyone is not fluent in English except at the front desk. This hostel provides SIM cards as well. You do not have to buy them at the airport. They also offer tours to Ha Long Bay and other cities, as well as Sapa and Nin Bing. They provide airport transfers at a reasonable price. I stayed in the twin bedroom. The breakfast was included in the price of the stay and the options available were decent enough.

This place is a little difficult to find but with good directions from the hostel it was soon made easy, clean rooms and toilets, private beds, and it’s fairly quiet after 12am.

Staff are lovely always very polite and attentive!
Good tours on offer and food is cheap and very close by!

Only complaint is one member of staff at the reception was rather rude and after talking to other guests we didn’t seem to be the only ones who had experience her attitude. Oh well!

Thank you Buffalo you’ve been amazing!!!!

Great location, clean hostel and friendly staff. The rooms were spacious, beds comfy and the lockers were huge and very secure.

The staff are so helpful with anything you need, we booked the Loop with them and then straight to Sapa and they sorted it all out for us!

We got a bit unfortunate that we were put in a room that was clearly used for people coming back from the ha Giang loop and would come in at 2/3am and make a lot of noise. Just be mindful when booking that if your room isn’t full the same might happen!

There are literally no complaints about this place. Letting us store our bags when we came to the hostel early, huge lockers for your bags, free towels, nice shower, VERY SOCIAL, free beer from 7-8 pm every night, free pub crawl at 10 too, free walking tour daily at 10 am, breakfast included (that was actually average), perfect location, a lot of ad hoc trips to book, and a swimming pool to top it all off. What a place

This hostel was easily our favourite during a month travelling up the country. A free breakfast buffet with a range of foods to choose from, combined with the happy hour and daily pub crawl gave us a great routine for meeting new people and making plans. We were impressed by both the standard and deluxe rooms as they are both kept very clean and both have good washing facilities. I know that not all travellers have the same taste but in terms of value for money I would go as far as to say this is the best hostel you will find in Vietnam.

I can not recommend this hostel enough. Not only is the hostel clean, comfortable & social the staff at the hostel go above & beyond for you. We organized the Ha Giang loop & Ha Long Bay tour through the hostel and all transfers/ accommodation were all organized for us! My bus to Ninh Binh was cancelled & Trung went out of his way to find a bed for me at the hostel when it was fully booked. Hanoi Buffalo Hostel has been a highlight of my trip so far!
