A charming, hospitable, family-owned and operated guest house, which is well maintained, nicely landscaped, in the historic Old City.

The owners Dao and Nu are your hosts, and they treat guests as family.

Rooms come with fan or air conditioning and are spacious, clean, and comfortable as well as reasonably priced. Free WiFi and drinking water are included. A delicious breakfast and coffee are optional. There’s a swimming pool too.

Libra is centrally located on a quiet lane (Moon Muang Soi 9) in the northeast corner of the Old City just inside the moat.

Many of Chiang Mai’s main attractions are nearby and within walking distance. These include historically and culturally significant Buddhist temples, cafes and restaurants, remnants of an ancient wall, historic Thapae Gate, and interesting markets.

Dao can offer suggestions on things to see and do tailored to your particular interests to ensure a most enjoyable and memorable visit. Partial day or longer sightseeing, nature, and trekking tours can be arranged too.

This place is brilliant. Really nice room with good new air conditioning unit right beside the pool. Very chilled out vibe, extremely helpful owner and staff. We had motorbike troubles on doi suthep, and the staff bent over backwards to help us and offer help in any way possible. It's one of those places where people weep a little bit when leaving because it's just so nice. The food from the kitchen was very tasty. All the guests are really friendly and there's a nice friendly atmosphere around the hotel, full of smiles. The place is tucked away down a quiet street but in the middle of the old town, within walking distance of...well everything. Would love to return some day and if so will stay here.

We could only stay for two nights (as fulll booked for Songkrat). This family run guest house has excellent facilities and caters for all types is travellers at a great price.
Doi (the owner) was very helpful in helping us organising excursions to maximise our short stay….even with early starts to see Dawn at Doi Suthep.
Enjoy a relaxed stay and filling breakfasts to start your day.

I had a really great relaxed stay in this lovely green and leafy guest house. Libra is located in a nice part of the walled city with great access to the nearby cafes, massage, services and everything you need. It’s so relaxed walking around and easy to get around.
I had a choice of rooms and opted for a room with air conditioning and my Yan bathroom although many styles were available when I was shown around to pick.
Best of all is the service from the family from excellent food served usually most of the day which was great if I had a sleep in!
Dao and her family were truly amazing and looked after all my tour bookings which were unique and special compared to what was available at the places my friends stayed and the tour offices. With Dao and Libra’s help I had superb help planning my trip and a really great trek, elephant feeding in rural quiet village with no electric, amazing outdoor adventures, jungle and trek as well as bathed in hot springs. Many of the temples are nearby or were easily arranged by tour if preferred however I chose to visit local temples myself and the further away ones were included in my tours.
I can highly recommend for a beautiful relaxing stay with much to do and enjoy. I am returning later in my trip after a visit to Pai for a further stay as I enjoyed it so much.

Lovely family run guest house, they are so kind and helpful, it's not surprising people (including us) return again and again. We stayed on the first floor with large wooden terrace, great for sitting relaxing, yoga etc. Nice garden area with swimming pool at the side. They gave us fresh fruit and lovely homemade cakes cooked by Dao's sister. Simply furnished good size rooms and very clean. Set in the lovely quiet lanes in the old town, great for wandering and finding little bars and restaurants. Dao is very helpful with providing local information and booking any tours, including seeing elephants, trekking etc.
We would happily return if we're ever in Chiang Mai in the future.

Myself and 3 other friends really enjoyed our stay at Libra Guesthouse. Our host, Dao was extremely accommodating. She provided us with so much help in planning our trip around Chaing Mai. She also organised our trip to the jungle where we went rafting and to see a real elephant sanctuary where we fed and bathed two elephants.
The location of this guesthouse is fantastic, right in the centre of Chaing Mai square. It has excellent wifi, a swimming pool and the rooms are clean and spacious.
I would definitely recommend as we really enjoyed it

5 stars is not enough for this place. The rooms are more that what is needed but the service, staff and kindness was second to none( stayed with my two children 8 & 11 and their uncle. We did the Karen Village overnight trek with Nu.....WOW - what a guide. He looked after us to much, the village people were very hospitable and kind and the food was delicious. Nu was so informative enroute and also made us chopstocks out of bamboo, banana leaf hats to keep off the sun....it was incredible. Dao run Libra fantastically, she was so helpful, kind, caring and lovely. I wish all the places I had been to in Thailand had a caring owner like Dao. A big shout out to Nemo.......she worked with Dao, and lit up our stay.. her massage palour next door was the best we had on our 6 week trip!

Dao and her staff take care of everything for you, and make your time in Chiang Mai so relaxing and easy. They will help you with anything, and guide you towards what’s best to do in Chiang Mai without even asking. They are so friendly that you feel at home, which creates a very open and fun atmosphere for all guests. I would not stay anywhere else! Thank-you!!!

This place is absolutely amazing. The hosts are the nicest people I've ever met, they help you with tours, to arrange massage, recommendations about routes, about food, help with where to do laundry, everything. I had a miscommunication with them about arranging the time with massage and they were understanding and nice. They also gave us a lot of vitamins powder to mix with water for our travels. Absolutely lovely people.

The place is in a great location, quite, with a pool and a great environment. It's a relaxing place, and the rooms are clean, with big beds and enough space for everything. There is a small shampoo in the toilet, water and a kettle. They give also towels, and they helped us lending us towels for the elephants tour.

The next time I come to Chiang Mai, I'll come here for sure. Thank you for the experience!

If you’re looking for a safe, spotlessly clean, friendly guesthouse in a great location, you will love Libra. Perfect for families, it’s a peaceful gem if tranquillity with a wonderful swimming pool. Close to many local sights and restaurants. Our rooms had everything we needed and were very clean. We enjoyed our best sleep in ages!
But above all else, the welcome from the hosts is like nothing I’ve experienced. They really do make you feel like family. I was unlucky to have an accident whilst at a water park, and felt so relieved to return to Libra where they looked after me with such care and compassion. I’ll never forget that :)
If we return to Chiang Mai, we will certainly stay at Libra again. And if you’re looking for a calm and gentle place to stay, I’d urge you to stay here too.
