We were tipped up by friends that this restaurant was worth a visit, so why not give it a try. The manager knew our friend that recommended the restaurant to us, so we had expectations of a heartily welcome. We set out to find this place in a taxi from the Shrangri La Hotel; driving through china town and the flower market towards the palace. Upon arrival the first impression was a narrow, smelling dead end drive way, and at the end a bright white sign showing there name of the restaurant. Once we got in it was like entering into another world, clean, well organized and very professional welcome from what felt like old friends.

The food we had was to die for, I had pork belly, and honestly the best I have ever had, cooked perfectly by superb South African Chef Fernando Roman, not to mention that perfect even crackling.

In addition to outstandingly good food, the entire experience was wonderful, the view across the river to the temple at night is just fantastic.

Go look for this place, enjoy the food, the experience and the view across the river.

I found this hotel because of COVID -19 that tourist mentioned that we can see splendid view of drawn temple opposite hotel along with the Chapraya river and they offer work from hotel.

I chose Wat Arun River View Deluxe room, I saw it with my eye that worth for 2 nights stay. You will love it seem you sleep next to river and million view value. Wake up and see river and nice architecture object in front of eye every morning. I can’t remember function of the room and forget to detail of it.
Location can be reach easy after subway completion you can take subway and get off at station Sanam Chai that you can continue from Samyarn please try to get off exit that connect to Museum Siam then turn right and walk directly to another street you will see Wat Pho. Hotel is quite famous you can ask people if you can’t see signage.

Don’t miss to visit and stay !

This is a high quality hotel located alongside the Chao Phraya River and near the Grand Palace and the National Museum Bangkok. There are other amazing tourist attractions nearby - including the launch location of the river cruises. This hotel has an excellent rooftop bar with views of the sunrise and sunset over the river. There’s an excellent restaurant inside this hotel. The breakfast meal was included in our room price - but, check your booking to see if your breakfast meal is included. The meals are good with a good variety of food prepared by a chef. There are Asian and western foods prepared here. Excellent service. Very friendly staff. The hotel is located down a narrow alley. There is no lift inside this hotel - but staff will carry your bags up the stairs for you. There is excellent air conditioning in the rooms. The room we booked had a view of the river that looks out towards the Arun Temple.

We booked the best room they had for 1 day from July 5-6 to celebrate our 1 year anniversary. You basically pay for the pretty view otherwise the room itself was “just ok.” The windows are visible to everyone across the river. The bathroom and shower door didn’t completely close. Oh and you have to use the stairs to get up and down to your room, no elevators. Front staff during checking out was absolutely VERY RUDE! Asking me questions that made no sense in English. Though the restaurant food was absolutely delicious I would rate them 5 stars because the restaurant staff were really nice and attentive to their service. Otherwise the hotel side of customers service need some training in good manners and hospitality that’s were my 1 star rating comes from. I wouldn’t stay at this hotel again but I would eat at the restaurant.

The hotel has a great location. There is a lot of construction going on so beware that the river walk doesn’t really exist. Be very careful of the room you book. The website is a little miss leading. We thought we had a river view but that was not the case. Just never go by the pictures ( is easy to leave an ugly obstruction out of the picture). That being said the bed was the most comfortable bed I slept on in two weeks. The young man that served us breakfast on the morning of March 14 th was excellent. Great job!!!! The girls at the front desk not friendly at all.
We did enjoy our time there and the views of the river from all the dining areas and the rooftop bar definitely amazing but the price is a bit high for what you get especially when the server at the rooftop bar changes your gratuity. Upon checking out I discovered this even though the bill was totaled at the bottom. This was definitely not an error . The woman at the front desk acted like it was no big deal and I will tell you as someone who works in the service industry THIS IS A VERY BIG DEAL.
This are no elevators at this hotel so if stairs are hard for you it might be best to stay at another property.

Dear Deana, Once again please allow me to apologist on behalf of our cashier mistake entering correct tip amount from miss reading the number correctly even though you already write the summary amount as well. As well as I'll re training all our staffs, no matter how big or small of the amount payment mistake shouldn't never happen, and if it's ever does like on your case must fixing it ASAP. Regarding the pending de-construction of the river walk, was pending from law case between other parties and local authorities which we hope to be clear out some time soon. Lastly, I am glad that you still have chance to enjoy the beauty of Wat Arun, and I'll definitely give compliment our 2 lively breakfast boy Mr. Name & Mr. Dev, whom serve you breakfast on 14 March morning. Once again, thank you for time to visit us and share your feedback and we hope to welcome you again in the future. Best Regard, Tea sala rattanakosin hotel manager

A month ago, I made a reservation with a flexible rate that allowed for cancellations. Unfortunately, I learned a week later that I will not be able to travel to Bangkok so I have tried a dozen times for three weeks to cancel it online but an error message from their server always appears, not allowing for a cancelation. I have emailed them and zero response and when I have called them, they tell me that they cannot cancel it because the client is the only one that can do it through the website. I've explained my problem many times and they don't care and they've hang up the phone more than once. I'm desperate because I don't know what else to do and I am certain that I will lose the money. I have never seen such terrible customer service. Do yourself a favor, and do not make a reservation in this hotel.

Looks from the outside of this hotel get you thinking OMG what have I got into here but after the initial shock and you get into your room, you discover it's not so bad. We spent three nights here and that's about the limit for a stay as rooms, although very modern and comfortable lack any kind of storage space so it kind of gets you living out of your suitcase, it really is a boutique style hotel. Breakfast was included in our package and this was well above average, fantastic breakfast by the riverside and more food than you could ever eat. On the downside, prices for drinks and dinner were well above average, the days of everything in Bangkok being cheap are truly well gone. Don't stay here if you can't do stairs, there is no elevator so you will be required to climb up. For the most part staff are helpful and friendly although struggle with English which was a little odd in a tourist hotel and area.

Received a polite call requesting for payment, simultaneously I also wanted to confirm the details of our staycation - late check out in particular.

However, I was quietly shocked when she informed me it was standard times. Upon relaying the generous terms promised online with regards to FNB discounts, late checkout, spa etc she quickly backtracked.

In my view hospitality should in fact be that - hospitable, from greeting to goodbye. Especially for an esteemed property like the Sala Rattanakosin.

We went with another couple to spend New Year’s Eve in the restaurant. We had a table outside with a perfect view looking over to Wat Arun temple. We had a seven course menu which was amazing . Some of which they changed for my husband as he doesn’t like some fish dishes. We discussed this with the restaurant the day before & they were very helpful & more than happy to change the menu to something he liked. The service the food & the ambiance was all perfect. They had live music with fantastic singers. To see the new year in we went onto the rooftop to watch the spectacular fireworks . Definitely a restaurant not to be missed.

What a wonderful stay! For the fourth time I spent some days at this great, little Boutiquehotel at the river in Bangkok. Again the experience was great. The hotel is a unique place located directly at the river with a beautiful view to the wat arun. The staff is very friendly. Khun Bee and the whole team at the front desk is not only very charming and funny, but also very efficient and professional. The rooms are modern, clean and quite big. And the rooftop offers great views. The team makes the difference. Everybody is just very friendly. I would also like to mention the head of the bar who treated me like family. A wonderful experience. The restaurant offers great food and a wonderful breakfast on the terrace at the river. I will come back, for sure!

At the moment Hua Lampong is the closest MRT station, underneath the Museum Siam ( 5 minutes walk) they completed a new MRT station which expects to open in 2019. Besides the options mentioned a nice way to travel is from BTS Sephan Taksin by boat to Wat Arun, followed by a short ferry ride to Tha Tien pier.
