The hotel is a good hour away in a taxi from the airport, we got a meter taxi from the airport which we would never do again! the taxi driver didn't have a clue where he was going, he stopped four times to ask for directions even though we had the sat nav up showing him which direction to go and he had his on but kept on ignoring the route, probably to scam us into paying more money but it was infuriating with two tired kids and not the best start to our Bangkok adventure! anyway nothing to do with the hotel but be warned!
When arriving at the hotel check in was fine and the room was ready, they didn't offer to help with our bags which we thought a bit strange as it looked like they were helping others, we took the elevator up to our floor and went into our room and were pleasantly surprised, it was better than the pictures! fantastic family room, it was huge! two single beds tucked away for the kids, big comfy bed for us, massive vanity area with two sinks, separate toilet, shower and a bath. A big balcony too, it wasn't the best view, the rooms on the opposite side have river views but we think they are double rooms not family rooms on that side, we were very happy. The room has a big clothes rail with hangers, drawers, a safe, TV with cable channels, air con, water replenished daily, fridge, hairdryer and soap/shampoo etc and the room was kept really clean. There is an outdoor pool at the hotel, we only used it a few times but it was a good size and the temperature was ok, not too cold.
There is a café inside which over looks the river and outside there is a bar area, you can eat at the restaurant inside or outside in the evening too. We had breakfast included at the hotel which was good, we all found something to suit us, lots of choice other than English tea but we took our own.
Its a huge hotel and a lot of it looks like its not used much any more, there are a lot of conference areas.
The hotel is in quite a remote area but a taxi into the main areas like koh san road, china town and the malls are cheap, we used grab mostly with the odd tuk tuk, the underground train station was only about a 10 minute walk away too and we often used this, a few pounds for a family of 4 to get to most places we wanted to explore, they just got a bit busy at certain times of the day.
Overall the service at the hotel was ok, breakfast was ok, the room was fantastic, the area not the best but close to transport links and easy enough to get a grab, value for money that we paid definitely worth it so over all would recommend and if we return to Bangkok which we may be doing again soon then we would return here again.

This hotel checks most boxes for the cost point, I had a room on the river and it was huge as well as the balcony overlooking the river, huge glass doors which welcomes the river into your room. Breakfast comes with the room and had an omelette bar as well as noodle, rice soup and a few nice Thai dishes. Menu looked good at the restaurant but we didn’t have anything from there as we were busy out and about. There was live music down at the riverside restaurant the second night and was nice and a nice bar serving local craft beer. They have a tuk tuk that will bring you to the river boat dock to get up and down the river to attractions. I would say it’s mostly a Thai style hotel and everything may not be perfect but I will say everyone was friendly with us. Couple small things could be fixed was body soap and shampoo are one bottle and no soap at the hand sink.

When you describe your hotel as luxurious and have a 4 star rating, you need to have something to show for it and treat your guests a little better.
Checking in took a long time 3 people behind the desk, doing everything else but acknowledging me. A lady came in from outside with sunglasses on and finally checked me in. Gave me a key and a voucher for a drink and that was it. Didn't explain the hotel or even how to find the lifts/room. Got to my room and the door was wide open and housekeeping had not been at all. It was feral from previous guests. I called the reception and they said wait there, and after 10 awkward minutes sent a housekeeper with no English to switch my room and key. No real apology. Wasn't a huge inconvenience but after a long journey when you just want to rest is annoying.
My room was huge and had a nice big balcony overlooking the river. Absolut highlight sitting there watching the boats ect go by and a nice sunrise in the morning. Really comfy bed and nice linen.
Disappointed the towels all came in plastic, so bad for the environment if every single lot of towels for the whole hotel that get used gets put in unnecessary plastic. Same for the toiletries provided, all plastic and theres no hand soap, if you want to wash your hands you have to use the cleanser in the shower.
Breakfast was nice, decent variety but mostly Asian options. No table
Just for a 4 star... I thought the little things would be taken care of, like bags taken to the rooms, or provide room service, or charge dining to the room at the restaurant. None of it, so definitely think its more 2-3 star with nice rooms (if you book modern rooms).

First time in Thailand, a friend booked the hotel for us, so wasn’t sure what to expect. It was 40 minutes from the airport and our friend had already checked us in so we went directly to the room on arrival. The room was clean and had a balcony that looked out over the river. After a good nights sleep we went down for breakfast. Buffet style food of all sorts laid out, nothing special but you could fill up easily and get a good cup of tea. Hotel is located around 20 / 25 mins from most tourist destinations and the ‘grab’ cab app is essential and affordable. No complaints about staff or hotel, it was all as it should be.

Huge rooms with riverfront balconies, if you book the right room. Plenty of space and a comfortable sleep. The only big issue with the rooms is the Wi-Fi which is probably the worst I have ever encountered. You have to log in repeatedly and it keeps cutting out. The hotel generally is pretty gloomy and marooned in a local Thai area with nowhere to eat out and no shops to explore. You’ll stay here for the river view (without paying the £200 per nights further downstream) but certainly not for in-house dining which looked pretty average. On the positive side, reception staff were very friendly and helpful and you can easily hop onto an orange flag ferry to go into town. They’ll also give you a lift to Sirindhorn station on the blue line.

Don’t go by the old ratings.. the Hotel is fantastic!! It’s bang on the river, a little away from the main tourist attractions though. You can take a grab easily to most of the places.

The views from the hotel are amazing.

We were greeted very sweetly by the receptionist. Even though the check in was at 3pm by half past 12 they gave us a room. I kept pestering her as we came to hotel by 8am, however she always smiled and told us guests have to check out and we will clean and give you asap! It was very sweet of her to be patient and assist us.

Now the family room.. it’s like a studio!! It was one of the biggest rooms we stayed with 1 king size and 2 single beds. Me, my wife and kids had ample of space!!

Breakfast was good too. Few halal options or signs would definitely help and get more travellers!!

Take my advice and go for this hotel. We got it for less than 100$ a night which was definitely worth it!!

A family reunion for 11 guests which was a Bangkok river centred catch up. The hotel promised a great deal but the hotel fell short on so many levels.

If the hotel was advertised & sold as a 3 Star hotel then, yes, expectations would have been adequately met & nothing we experienced would have been unexpected.

But when sold as a 5 star & on some sites an old world 4 star (that should have been the first alarm bell), well expectations were a lot higher & not many were were met

Lovely old building well positioned on the wonderful riverfront with an old-world charm. Like the Buddy Oriental (much further north on the river & much grander undergoing major renovations in 2024).

I can see how this was once a glorious establishment, rich in Thai heritage & doubtless bustling with who’s who in prominent social circles of the Bangkok scene. Alas those days are long gone.

Sadly the entire property is in dire need of maintenance, upgrade, repair & general make good. It is at very best a decent 3 star hotel with willing but limited, inflexible service.

No room for reasonable check in neither one hour late checkout & a perfect example of strange service was the Chit-Hole terrace restaurant on our first night. The staff point blank refused to allow us to put 3 tables together to accommodate all 11 of us. Surreal, never experienced that ilk of lack of willing in Thai service before. I had to simply pick the tables up myself & move them & of course return them after our dinner much to the waiting staff’s amusement.

I could list a lot more like a flooded room with an AC fault & having to demonstrate the pooled water to get my nephew & his wife a different room for the first night. But you get the picture. Almost Fawlty Towers.

If advertised as a decent 3 star hotel, then I’d have no complaints, I’d say, all as expected & fair enough.

One day the proprietor will invest renovate this hotel back to its former glory. Then it will be worth visiting again. Until then it remains a decent crash pad of a 3 star hotel on the river front. Nothing more, nothing less.

Reaching this hotel through a taxi is a difficult and costly affair.
Hotel staff is bit confused understanding your point and you might miss your flight if you depend on them. We had asked them to give us a wake up call at 3 am ,they agreed and they didn't. We asked them to book a taxi for our departure flight. They confirmed that it will be booked and they didn't. They just showed us the way to the road where we could catch our taxi ourselves. And with all our luggage, we walked nearly half a kilometres at 4:00 am to get a metered taxi to the airport. This was all so unprofessional.
The coffee shop inside the hotel is good and food was also great but the the local hotel staff they have hired to service guests must be replaced with the people knowing English properly. Afterall, international trip asks for it.
There was no waiter around for nearly 20 minutes once we ordered food and they strictly didn't accept any order after 10 pm.
Chao Phraya river is very near and you can take a boat easily in daytime from a pier which is at walking distance but no ferry returns to this pier after 7:00 pm and again getting taxi to this place is a difficult and costly affair.

I chose this hotel mainly cause the price was good for a three night stay and the place had a pool and a balcony that looked out on the river.
However, it was a lot further from the airport than I thought, the ride took 70 minutes from the airport. Once here, check in was a little problematic, the reception person did not speak English and did not seem bothered to actually acknowledge that I was checking in.
Room is huge, basic, no safe, beds hard, bathroom basic, balcony is big and looks out on the Chao Pra River. I had to call housekeeping as there was no hot water, they came and ran the water in the sink and then I had hot water. Bring your own soap, none provided.
I had dinner downstairs sitting outside, pleasant surroundings, service was average. My Thai dish of larb moo was great, the white wine I had was excellent but not cheap.

I don't really know what the question is but we stayed there this summer. The breakfast is poor unless you're Asian then it would probably be ok. The river rooms have a great view but are a little dated. Not all the staff speak English but they're very pleasant. It's a bit out of the way from the centre but you can get the river boat to get about.
