I stayed at the true Siam hotel with my partner for 2 nights after initially arriving in Thailand

Pro’s
1. Very good location, near the airport train link and tucked away from the noise of the busy roads but still a short walk from loads of restaurants and transport links
2. Very spacious rooms, we had a double room and the bed was massive , nice decor and nice bathroom , view wasn’t great but that could be expected from a city hotel
3. Nice breakfast, very quiet when we had food , not a lot of options but I was good enough for what we needed
4. We arrived earlier due to an early flight , after an 18 hour journey we arrived around 11:00 and we was allowed straight into a room despite check in being at 14:00 which we was really appreciative of.
5. Staff are very friendly and welcoming

Cons
1. Beds weren’t very comfortable, quite firm and a very thin sheet on the bed, there was also only one pillow each so not the best of sleeps

For the price it’s very good value and we would stay at again

This hotel is a 5-minute walk to Payatai Station, the Sukhumvit Line. The interior and sculptures that seem to represent the Siam era in Thailand are impressive. The staff are all kind and friendly. Breakfast is below expectations. If you are very hungry, you can eat. There is a coffee machine in the hotel restaurant, but there is no take-out cup and ice.

The room is in good condition and the rooms are spacious. There's an elevator, too.

However, I was tricked by scammers and blew $400 when I booked here (although it was my mistake). I wish the hotel or Booking Dotcom had informed me of how to deal with it in advance.

I hope you don't make a mistake in entering your credit card information by sending a link to your Gmail address, saying that your hotel reservation was wrong all of a sudden through a Booking Dotcom message.

Conclusion>
It is a very good hotel for the price.

This conveniently located budget hotel is clean and has large rooms. It’s not overly fancy, but it’s a great deal for the location. This was a great place to sleep before catching a domestic flight within Thailand, as it’s only a few minutes walk to the beginning of the airport rail line.

The hotel design and setup is definitely true to its name. The traditional Thai/Siam style from lobby all the way to the room. Rooms were clean and the staffs were superbly friendly. From the bell staff, the reception at check in and the reception at check out were all friendly and always had a smile. Only setback was probably its location in a small soi and I mean really small soi. Apart from that it’s definitely a nice little hotel that is recommended.

1. Location: between Phaya Thai and Victory Monument BTS. 5 mins to Phaya Thai and 7 mins to Victory Monument .
2. Very Budget price!
3. Large and spacious room!
4. Bed is big and comfy.

For a 3 star hotel, I found this very impressive. 8th stop on the 30 minute airport rail link train from Suvarnabhumi Airport, then just a 5 minute walk. Check in easy, room very clean, very spacious. Faultless room I would say. Breakfast is usual spilt offer between Thai and western diet. I only stayed 1 night, because next day was a 3 hour taxi ride Nakhon Ratchasima.

I would thoroughly recommend this.

Because it was my first trip to BKK (and out of the country!), I spent over two months researching on where to go and good hotels to stay in. True Siam Hotel lives up to the raving reviews and the TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for 2012 and 2013. The hotel is small compared to others, with 65 rooms available in several floors but worth your money since it isn't expensive at all.

There's a small lift, big enough for around 4-5 people with luggage/trolleys to the right of the reception, and a set of stairs as well. The hotel is very clean and well decorated, quiet because it's located in a small alley (Soi) off the two main roads: Rangnam Road and Si Ayuttaya (which is intersected by Phaya Thai). Sometimes you can hear thuds from the floors above if the guests are very rambunctious (but nothing to be worried about, I assure you.)

We booked two standard rooms with agoda.com for three nights without breakfast and the bill was only 12,700 PHP for both rooms (around 280-90 USD). Since I requested for one room with a king bed and one with twin beds, they gave us a free upgrade on the twin room (from standard to superior) so our rooms could be next to each other. Standard rooms only have king beds (yes king, not queen or double, a legit king bed). The mattress is very firm (I personally love firm mattresses), with soft pillows and a thick comforter. All the rooms are equipped with one of those big overhead airconditioners and a remote control is provided to adjust the temperature.

All rooms have a flat screen TV as well. There are a few English channels (Lotus Macau, Diva Universal, BBC, and MTV). There's KBS2 (with English subtitles) too. There's a telephone you can use to call other rooms or the reception and room service. Their standard rooms are pretty big, 30 square meters according to the hotel website, and the superior rooms are even bigger. The rooms are equipped with a wooden cabinet (with sliding doors), a small dresser with a chair (which is actually an ottoman), a mirror (with an overhead light), a chair/set of chairs and a coffee table, and a side table with a lamp. The floors are made of cream-colored tile (no carpet), but there is a bathroom mat in front of the bathroom door.

The bathroom is fine, with a shower (with sliding doors), a toilet with a bidet, sink with mirror, and an overhead rack for towels (two big towels and two face towels that are replaced everyday). The standard room is given free tissue, shower/conditioner and shower gel, shower caps, and a small hand soap everyday. The superior room is given all that plus 2 toothbrushes
and toothpaste everyday (according to my aunts).

If you want to have your room cleaned when you go out, just hang the sign on the door knob. The room is always clean with complete with complimentary items when we arrive late afternoon or evening. Speaking of service, the service at True Siam Hotel is great! They have a small staff but they are always very accommodating. The staff at the reception is great at English (not fluent but communication was never an issue). There are two Pinoy/Filipino staff members (special mention to Adam and John who helped us with getting around!). Also, prepare to deposit 1000 BHT or its equivalent in USD (or other major foreign currencies) for the key (yes, a key, not a key card). We paid the room already via agoda.com but the deposit is still needed (and returned when you check out).

Note for Pinoys: Kung Pinoy kayo o nagtatagalog, hindi kayo magkakaproblema kasi may Pinoy na staff, si Adam and John. Super bait nila! Big thanks to them. :)

Special notes:
> The only bad thing I have to say is that the hotel located in a small alley off the two main roads. I personally had no problem with this because it's literally a 2 minute walk to reach the main roads.
> Room service is great! We personally loved the menu the hotel offered (and seeing as my family caters, I have a very particular palate); they have western and Thai dishes. You have to order their Thai food at least once. Buffets are available for 200 BHT.
> The area is pretty quiet, a 5-10 minute TukTuk/Taxi ride to Platinum Fashion Mall along Petchaburi Rd. (Petchaburi is the next road parallel to Si Ayuttaya), or a roughly 20 minute walk. However, if you go to Rangnam Road (turn right once you get out of the hotel), there is a King Power Duty Free (the main Duty Free mall in BKK) to your right and a movie complex/mall to the left (just cross Rangnam Road and walk to the left, it's on the corner that intersects Phaya Thai Rd.).

Regarding BTS/ARL:
> To get to this hotel from Suvarnabhumi Airport, just go down to the basement level and ride the ARL Express or City Line to Phaya Thai station (the last station). Express tickets (no stops, takes 17-20 minutes) are 90 BHT (I used the machine to get tickets) and the City Line tickets (makes a few stops, takes less than 30 minutes) are 45 BHT. Once you get to the basement level, the Express train is on the left and the City Line is on the right. Get off at Phaya Thai station and you can either use the escalator or elevator. If you used the escalator, take Exit 4 on the BTS (you have to cross the big bridge to the BTS) and walk along Phaya Thai road, cross Si Ayuttaya road and turn right. You'll see Soi number 12 on your left, The Sukosol Hotel is on that corner as well. True Siam Hotel is along that alley. If you took an elevator, take it to the ground floor, you'll see the main road (Phaya Thai) on your right. Walk up to Phaya Thai Rd. and turn right, keep going straight, cross Si Ayuttaya, and turn right until Soi 12 (which is on your left).
> To get back to the Suvarnabhumi airport, just use the same elevator and get up to C level (concourse) to buy tickets.
> If you're taking a taxi, the website offers a map or you can just tell your driver Sukosol Hotel (Previously known as Siam City Hotel). Before reaching the hotel, tell the driver to turn left on Soi 12 along Si Ayuttaya. You can also tell the driver King Power Duty Free but he'll turn on Rangnam Road. The other side of Soi 12 is one-way, so you'll have to walk to the hotel.
> The movie complex I mentioned is connected to the BTS (Victory Monument station) on the second floor. You can use the Phaya Thai station of the BTS as well (cross Si Ayuttaya and go up either staircases on Phaya Thai Road).

VERDICT: When I go back to BKK, I will definitely staff at this hotel again. Excellent service (especially since there are Pinoys), great rooms, and accessible location. I didn't have a hard time getting around at all! Besides, if there are any problems with transportation, you can just take the BTS or the ARL to get to places.

i with my friend stay the hotel for 1 night, and the hotel very hard to find it, and the taxi driver also can't find it, ok, that's not big problem. and at next day, we were going to airport at early morning, we ask the hotel to call in the taxi for us and i did mention them i need the taxi who could by meter. After we get in the driver ask 700BHT to airport, we dropped, back to hotel ask the reception call again, at that time, the first taxi back to hotel, at that i knew they r in 1 side, they cheater customer to take the taxi for a high fees and share it. so we going out, and the guard back to hotel bring another taxi, he said: by meter. we trust him and get in, after we sit down, the driver rejected "by meter", i asked him drop us, but he didn't stop the car, we can't drop it. so horribel hotel.

The hotel is between Phaya Thai BTS & Victory Monument BTS, about 5 minutes walk either way. Very convenient if you travel via BTS to avoid the famous bangkok jam. A few stops from the main shopping area, Siam BTS. A cab to Platinum Mall was about 100 baht (the drivers we had refused to use the meter). There is a convenience store about 1-2 minutes away (towards the direction of Victory Monument BTS) which is rather well stocked. Was there as a couple and we enjoyed the quiet surroundings. The room is clean and spacious with a small sitting area, and 2 glass bottles of free water are provided everyday. Limited English channels on TV but not an issue. Free wifi available. What we didn't like as much as that the toilet was toooooooo small! The shower area is really small, I am of average build and yet I find myself knocking against the shower screen quite frequently. The window in the toilet was open and we saw a mosquito in our room. I suggest that the hotel can provide mosquito repellent in the rooms. The air-conditioning was a little too loud for my liking but for the price, this hotel is very reasonable. There is no sound proofing as we can hear our neighbours very clearly before they enter their rooms. No smoking allowed in hotel rooms but every room has a small balcony area where smokers are allowed to puff away. Slippers are provided but toothbrush/toothpaste are not. Not an issue if you forget, the convenience store is just 2 minutes away. The breakfast provided was normal, my suggestion is to eat a little, don't stuff yourself, save your tummy for the other food outside.
