New Siam Riverside is a luxurious guest house located right beside the Chaophraya River at the heart of Bangkok's tourist district. All of our rooms come with a safe, a mini fridge, satellite TV, bedside control, and a latex foam bed. Additionally, a breakfast buffet is included in the room price. New Siam Riverside features a large patio by the river where you can relax and enjoy a delicious meal from our restaurant, or go for a swim in our pool. We also offer an airport taxi service, Thai massage, and a tour service. New Siam has always been dedicated to providing our guests with the same care and attention we would give to a guest in our own home. The guest house is located within walking distance of a number of great tourist attractions including: the grand palace, Wat Phra Kaew (the temple of the emerald Buddha), Wat Pho (with the great reclining Buddha), Wat Arun (the temple of dawn), the national theater, the national museum, Thammasat University, and Khaosan Road.

We were pleasantly surprised when we saw this hotel. Our room was facing the street but the noise was not loud and the room was very clean and comfortable. We only stayed for two nights as sadly we were leaving Thailand and heading home ☹️. We found the location ideal as we had planned to go to Chinatown the next day and as the hotel was located by the river it was only a few minutes walk from the pier so it was perfect for us. I recommend going on the river, so much fun! There was a good amount to choose from for breakfast and we also ate dinner which was delicious and very reasonable. It’s a lovely setting to watch the boats go by! I don’t know if we will ever return to Bangkok but if we did, I would return to this hotel.

As the room is concerned, this property offers exactly what one would expect for its price. Room was neat and clean, with a coffee maker - important for me to immediately get caffeinated upon waking up! First of our two nights was a tad warm in the room and no way to adjust room temperature. We notified staff of this, and had a cooler, much more comfortable second night. The best part of this guest house (more like a hotel) was breakfast, with outdoor seating along the Chap Phraya River. Food selection was outstanding too, with fresh eggs cooked in a variety of ways, breads and pastries and a toaster, bacon (cooked crispy!), ham, sausage, cereals, juices, coffee, tea, and also Asian food. Location is also a plus, with Wat Phra Kaeow, Way Pho, an art gallery, History Museum, National Theater, and Khao San Road all within short walks. Also on a city bus line (including airport busses), and river ferry pier nearby. I will gladly stay here again, or at its older sister, New Siam II, directly across the street. Staff here was friendly and efficient.

Modeate guesthouse on a great location. We had the standard room. The room was not big, the bathroom was small, but everything was clean and sufficient. The room need a little update. The breakfast was buffet, enough choice.  The breakfast was served on the terracce with a good view on the river. There is also a swimmingpool. In walkingdistance you have many restaurants and bars, but you do not have the noice. The busstop for the S1 bus (60 thb pp) from the international airport is less than 50 meters. Recommanded.

We have just returned from 24 days Touring Cambodia and staying in Bangkok for 4 days. The New Siem Riverside was the worst accommodation we stayed in. The rooms are old and dark and need updating. The breakfast was a dismal experience, if you sit outside it is noisy and pigeons land on the tables ( worrying with all the germs they carry). The staff were miserable and seemed more motivated to feed themselves, rather than clean the tables.
The pool had old sun beds and little room to walk around the pool, our feet were black, the area was dirty and very old. The pool filter had broken and there was a pump by the pool. We stayed 3 nights and it had not been fixed. The water was cloudy!!!
Our flight was in the evening, there was a notice by reception informing guests they could keep the room for a late check out, for an additional cost. We checked on booking.com and they had over 10 rooms vacant, including two with balconies looking on to the city (same as our room).
They told us they were fully booked!! They offered to store the luggage (extra cost) and use the pool shower!! The New Siem Riverside, is a misleading name, it may have been New 50 years ago. The area was good and there are some very nice hotels nearby. Staying at the New siem reap was a disappointing end to our holiday.

This is our second trip to Bangkok for dental work so we needed to stay closer to Yanhee hospital ,limited options so we decided this accommodation looked great. It is not ,while a couple of the staff are friendly most are not, the rooms are over priced and the couple of times we have had the room cleared I have had to buy a few cleaning products and do it myself. The outdoor decking is hazardous to say the least, we have travelled extensively New Siam Riverside should be rated a 2 and that's being generous the reception staff should have better English most of the time they are less than helpful. I will say the food is ok and the restaurant staff are lovely

I had looked forward to staying at New Siam but after our 2 night stay I’m sorry to say that I was very disappointed. The main reason is the complete lack of customer service we experienced. From the moment we checked in, every single staff person was disinterested, unhelpful, unfriendly and uncaring. Front desk staff had no answers to basic questions about how to get to temples, restaurants, etc and simply stated “maybe you can google it.” Not a single staff person greeted us, smiled at us, or asked if we needed anything. We were left to figure things out on our own. The hotel’s location on the river was nice but the premises were worn out and not very clean. I requested 2 rooms next to each other and with water views many months before our arrival but was told at check in that it had to be requested at booking! The only positives were the breakfast buffet and the pool. I’m sorry to say that when I think of New Siam I think of no smiles no greetings no interest no service.

This hotel is located in a great spot! One side is river where you can take hop on and off tours, another side is close to famous streets where you can buy food, drinks and massages. Hotel is very basic, rooms are even more so. Bed is hard, only fan to relay on, toilet and showers are communal. But they are cleaned every day. Our room was noisy as there was building site and they start very early. Staff was friendly enough, there is restaurant in the house. There is a swimming pool in the hotel but is is 120 bhat charge if I remember correctly.
Hotel was safe, we slept with door open as we need little air flow.
All in all, if you book a room, book it with air con, it is hardcore without it. After long journey or sightseeing you want to have little bit of comfort. It is ok if you are on budget and happy to put up with heat and humidity.

I usually stay near Siam Center when I'm in Bangkok but decided on the New Siam Riverside Hotel instead because of its location beside the Chao Phraya River. I booked a superior double room and wasn’t disappointed.

My room was on the second floor overlooking the street and although I’m a light sleeper it was quiet in the evening and I slept well. The room was spacious, clean and had a comfortable king size bed, TV and fridge. The A/C was good, the bathroom was smallish but functional. My room included a buffet breakfast with a tasty selection of Thai and Western food on an outside terrace overlooking the Chao Phraya River. I didn’t use the pool but it looked inviting. The friendly staff at the reception desk spoke fluent English and were knowledgeable.

If you’re looking for a ‘Gucci’ high rise hotel this isn’t the place for you. If you want comfortable and clean accommodations in an older hotel the New Siam Riverside is the perfect option. I’ll definitely stay here when I’m in Bangkok again.

Tip:

To go to Khao San Road exit the hotel and turn left. Walk a few minutes and when you see a small soi across the street walk down it and you’ll find inexpensive shopping and a variety of restaurants and bars.

To go to the Chao Phraya River Pier exit the hotel and turn left. Walk 5 minutes and you’ll reach the pier. If you want to save baht don’t but a ticket for the ‘tourist’ boat. Pay half price and travel with the locals.

To go to Chatuchak weekend market exit the hotel and turn left. The bus stop is a few minutes away on the same side of the street as the hotel. Bus #3 will take you to the market. Get off when everyone else does and you’re there.

To go to Suvarnabhumi Airport I pre-odered a GRAB and was picked up at 4am. It took 45 minutes to get there and I paid 503 Baht. You can also take bus S1 AC during ‘operating hours’ from the bus stop up the street for around 50 baht.

We stayed here for three nights at the very beginning of our four month travelling extravaganza across South East Asia.
Initially it took us two days to work out how to turn down the air con, tip - it's on the alarm clock!
Shower and room facilities good, bed reasonably comfortable.
We did ask for a view of the river but didnt get one, which was disappointing. But they did email to say they couldnt guarantee it.
Pool was quite cold, compared to other places weve stayed in Thailand where the pool is like warm bathwater this place was too cold for me. But my boyfriend liked it.
Breakfast was good, had options of fruit and yoghurt, cereal, pastries with butter and jam, bread/toast, sausages, eggs, the driest bacon ever, some thai options. Then the standard tea, coffee, juice etc
Location wise this place has it made. Tight on the river, bus journey or sweaty walk from the main palaces and temples, and a short walk to Khoa San Road which you cant hear from the rooms.

Great hotel. Bar is next to the pool and it shuts at 9. It’s not a glam Vip hotel but it’s lovely and in a good location. Make sure to get the water taxi to places :)
