Detailed Reviews
I loved this place. I stayed with my group booking all of the huts for 5 days and I could not believe what a paradise we arrived into. From the asphalt you need to do some offroad to reach the place but once there...whoa!!!
The private beach is amazing with nice and calm warm water. The area is all forest, such a difference from all the deforestation going on in Sierra Leone and specially Freetown peninsula right now. The food that is prepared here is simply amazing, always fresh fish taken from local fishermen wisely cooked and eaten on the beachfront. The Ecological concept of the resort is simply amazing, good job for that! But what made the stay even more incredible than what it was already is Martin, the owner. Such a helpful, welcoming, funny and cheerful person that will make you never want to go away. Now that we are back home in Italy, all our group wants to find a way to go back there. Great place, great stay. Thank you!

This is a great escape from the noise and sound pollution of Freetown and unlike most other beaches...really secluded. The little bay is protected so it's safe to swim in and not too deep.Martin will cook you up a storm and uses only locally available produce which is freshly prepared to order (so please call in advance to let him know you are coming). We had tiger prawns with a guacemole dip followed by lady fish and charcoal-grilled root veg, washed down with lemongrass tea. He is also very able and willing to accommodate vegetarians.
If you are looking for infinity pools, cocktails and 24 hour a/c this is not the place for you. However, if you are looking for something simple and quiet and the opportunity to disconnect - it's perfect.
There's solar lighting for those wishing to stay up beyond 10 pm and whilst some of the rooms have basic standard plumbing, for the more eco-oriented guests you will delighted to know there are some well-functioning composting toilets.
Kids might also like to know that there is quite a menagerie ...dogs, cats, ducks, guinea fowl, goats !
Visiting in the rainy season means you may need to dance in the rain a little and bring umbrellas. We hit a dry day with perfect conditions for a beach walk/sit. A little cloudy and not too hot !

The beach is beautifull. It's small en secluded. The host is Martin. He's very friendly and he cooks delicious meals. We stayed in a hut with a bucket shower right on the beach. Overal it's a little bit ramshackle, but that's exactly what this kind of place on the beach should be. Cold beers, good food, your feet in the sand, watching the sunset...what else do you need.

Beautiful stay to remember! Loved the long, empty beach… nice and cozy bungalows with the ocean right at your door step. Food is amazing, you’ve got to try the seafood Martin cooks. Everything you need for a very relaxing break. Highly recommended! Hope to come back one day ;)

Simple and nice huts/bungalows on a lovely, quiet private beach. Delicious food. Martin is an amazing cook and the best host you can wish! Feels like home!
Lay at the beach, snorkle with Parrotfish, have a walk on beautiful wild Black Johnson beach.
The perfect place to get away for a retreat out of busy Freetown.

The beach is amazing, and lovely to swim in. The place is really quiet and calm. Food is excellent. One of the most beautiful and peaceful places I've ever stayed!
(P.S. I'd recommend bringing a torch.)

We took a large group of friends from Freetown here for a birthday celebration weekend and booked the place out. The place was amazing! It was so lovely get away from busy freetown and to have our own beautiful private beach surrounded by jungle. The location is stunning, the food was delicious and the accommodation is rustic but lovely. Martin was an incredible host and really went out of his way to make the weekend wonderful. We can't thank Martin enough for working do hard to make it an excellent weekend and we would recommend Bahamut beach club to everyone.

This is a great secluded getaway. Especially outside the weekends, this is your private beach. Not only do you have some good huts, great view and a petting zoo as company, you also have Martin who is a gracious host. But even better - also a spirited chef! With a glass of wine in his hand, he makes great dishes with fresh fish that could shame Michelin star restaurants.
We had a great time here on our private beach. A good place to find your rest, whether you just come out of the lush jungles of the inland or the urban jungle of Freetown.

Martin's is one of my favourite places to stay in Salone. It's a beautiful spot on the edge of the jungle, on a little bay connected to one of the quietest and most beautiful beaches on the peninsula. The rooms are a little rustic but completely comfortable, Martin is a great host, and the food is out of this world. A great place to swim, relax and unwind. Highly recommend.

My friend and I had a great time here - Martin was a really nice host and cooked wonderful vegetarian food for us (best I've had in SL so far). Couldn't rate this highly enough for a wonderful break from the city.
