Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

You are in the capital of the Central African Republic after all, so remember that. The Hotel Ledger must have been grand at one time as it was built by Qaddafi and remains a Libyan-run chain. The rooms are large and clean and the staff tries to be helpful but are not terribly attentive and service is painfully slow in the restaurant. There is a beautiful pool area that is maintained and is popular on weekends with UN and other international staff. Breakfast is included in the room rate but fairly spartan compared to other major hotel chains but then again, you are in the Central African Republic. I had the grilled chicken for lunch on Sunday and while it took a while to get to me, it was a fairly large portion that included a huge pile of friend plantains. A rather filling meal and reasonable. The furnishings in the hotel look like they are 30 years old and are somewhat threadbare. Internet did not work well in the room. It is an okay place to stay in Bangui for a couple of days and probably your best choice for safety and security these days.

Entering a property seems like entering a fortress and it has to be keeping in view the security situation in Bangui. Well maintained lawns, courteous staff, grand lobby with beautiful marble floors. Though rooms and food is a bit overpriced. Then again they charge you for the ambiance and the security that your belongings will be safe while you enjoy the food or the company.

Although not an european 5 star hotel, it is amazing such an hotel in the middle of a country devastated by war.
Very nice pool, and great buffet.
If planning to go to the swimming pool, it is better to take a pool towel with you, because very often the hotel does not have enough pool towels.

This hotel is the most expensive hotel in Bangui, however, their service is not professional. I stayed the room without the door chain device. The first time I entered the room, I noticed the absence of door chain and asked them to change the room. The second room is also the room without the door chain device and I thought that this is their style, however, I noticed that another room was with it. I payed the price, however, they provided me the not well quipped room. ; why? Because am I female? Because am I Asian? Because is my French is not good? OK, I will never use your hotel! Thank you so much!!!!
Except for the room, their restaurant, bed, shower, WiFi were good.

They must be making tons of money but zero renovation or maintenance for a very old building. Given the scandalous rate at this hotel and the fact that it is the only decent hotel in town, acting as a quasi-monopoly, always full- they should at least do some maintainance or renovation.
They should also build a proper ball-room or improve room isolation. Whenever there is an evening reception in the courtyard, you wouldn’t sleep the whole night due to loud music. It’s like noone cares about whatever paying customers may be experiencing.

Considering the prices, it is simply scandalous not to provide to the residents an operationnal internet connection. It nevers works sufficiently to connect any vpn. In addition, the quality of the restaurant deteriorated and the service is at a 1 star level. Sum total, this hotel deserves his name "Ledger". Everything is done to increase the margin, on the detriment of its clients. It is so far an heritated monopolistic situation...

Extremely overpriced hotel for the low quality of service and room facilities. They moved me to three different rooms in the first night because there either wasn’t a functional safety deposit box or air conditioning unit (which leaked profusely, requiring a bucket). The final room I was placed in did not have a functioning phone, which they promised to fix but never did. Dirty sheets, frequent power cuts, inconsistent internet and intermittent water in the hotel room. It remains the only hotel in Africa I’ve stayed in where there is almost a complete absence of English speaking skills by the front desk staff. The outdoor pool area is lovely.

Let's start with the fact that if you're in Bangui, you're probably already not expecting much from a hotel and have already been introduced to the truly weird world of the Central African Republic, with it's mix of characters, comparable to the Tatooine cantina. The Ledger Plaza is like a microcosm of the city itself, with all the weirdness. You will see all those characters here, as it's a center for foreign visitors of all stripes.

There was probably a point in time when the hotel was really nice, especially for its context. It is still, unquestionably, the nicest hotel in Bangui. But time has not been kind to the hotel, and the facilities have degraded significantly. There's a good chance that if you need something like the ATM, it will not be working, the carpet has long rips that have not been repaired, food trays outside rooms are not picked up promptly, etc. The staff is reasonably helpful, but I would not expect English. There is security on site, probably sufficient for the neighborhood (one of the better areas in Bangui), but it's not exactly airtight.

I expect that if you're going to Bangui, you already know what you're getting yourself into. You won't find a better option in the city, but you probably won't leave here saying this is truly a nice hotel anymore.

Don't - Just don't. This was awful - and is very expensive.
First room I was offered had no functioning AC. The second room (now on the top floor so even hotter, had just about workable AC). No desk lamp, poor lighting in room. The whole corridor smelt damp and in need of fresh air. Visible mould on the corridir wallsOn two nights, there was no AC in public rooms downstairs.
Someones false eye lashes were left on the floor by the bed. Yes, you did read that.
No towels in the room. Called house keeping and was told to get them myself. We had a conversation and they were deliverd. Towels were removed the following day and not replaced. I had to call and get new ones.
Breakfast was good. Evening meals were OK.
My flight was delayed (Coup in Niger) and I had to stay an extra night. I left and moved to a new hotel.

It was ok, but definitely overpriced. Everything inside functioned but was dated... for the price, you'd expect newer and better furnishings.

The breakfast buffet was just alright... get an omelette or crepes. The other stuff always looked a bit old.

I've seen much worse and much better, so it's just in the middle. Solid, reliable, and safe.

Answer from Mehmet06TR

507 euro one room for two people, for one night.Breakfast was included. And you must pay this money cash. Mastercard and American express credit cards are invalid in CAR. You can use your visa only in one bank. If you finished your cash, this is the only way to find more CA Franc.
