The riad is close to all main attractions and easy to find the way to it. We really liked the welcoming atmosphere, we were treated like family members. The breakfast was delicious, the room was tidy and comfortable for 2. We always felt safe and also had the privacy. I can only recommend!

A local friend found this for us - which says a lot!
Very well located down a quiet'ish side side street not far from the Djemma.
The proprieters couldn't do enough for us and we found our time there ( before and after our Atlas trek) absolutely great.
Really recommend.

We arrived late at night (1:00am after a long flight!) and found the Riad easily, welcomed with a friendly smile by the English speaking reception attendant.

Our room, on the ground level, was spacious, clean and, while basic, had lots of character! The bathroom, while small had beautiful Moroccan tiling and gorgeous sink.

The breakfast, included in the price, was very basic and didn't give us much reason to get up early for it! We went the first morning but didn't bother for the rest of the time...pastry, boiled eggs and a small glass of orange juice, with unlimited tea and coffee. Breakfast was on the beautiful rooftop terrace though!

Location, down a side alley just off the main area, couldn't have been better, it was minutes walk from the Main Square and Souks, great to run back to the toilet during shopping!

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

We spent three nights at Riad Hotel Assia. The proximity to Djemaa El Fna made it a good choice. We stayed in a quadruple room, that although not large made good use of its space, offering a curtain as a way to divide the room into two. I, however, felt that the room, and particularly the bathroom, was a little dark and grungy. The common spaces were lovely, and breakfast served on the terrace was a highlight. The price and location make this a good place to stay. Just don't expect too much.

I had a single room (with two beds) in the Hotel Assia. A friend from Casa was coming to Marrakech on Sathurday and I asked the reception staff if he can stay in my room and I would pay double-room rate for that day. They said it is fine. However, when he arrived they said he cannot stay because it is not allowed for a Moroccan and a foreigner (both guys) to stay in the same room. They continued to explain that Morocco is islamic country and that even unmarried couple cant stay in the same room!!! They behaved very unprofessional, arrogant, agressive and above all, very unhospitable. Of course we left the hotel and found a better one.

The rooms were clean in this riad although the alley is a little scary when you first arrive. Don't worry, the alley will seem normal after the first day. Staff tried to be helpful but didn't have maps etc. In French, you might have better luck getting recommendations from the staff. We left our baggage there overnight and had no problems. Some of the rooms have windows which only open on to the courtyard, which seems like it's not very private but those rooms are quieter than the ones with windows looking over the street. Breakfast is good for a free breakfast and lovely terrace. Be sure you contact the hotel in advance to be picked up at the airport otherwise you will get ripped off by the airport taxis. Also they won't take you directly to the hotel and you will have to find it yourself which is difficult when you first arrive.

This hotel is located on a small side street, very close to Jamaa El Fna and a short walk to Koutoubia Mosque, the Bahia Palace and markets.

The room was simple and clean with private bathroom. Breakfast is served on the roof top and is good.

The staff at the front desk were friendly, cheerful and helpful.

The only difficulty was that it was a bit hard to fine. The turn off from the market is camouflaged by all the shops and stalls so we walked right past it a few times, although once we got there the location was very good.

I would recommend this hotel for budget travellers who want somewhere cheap and cheerful and close to attractions.

We stayed 2 nights in Hotel Assia, the hotel is very neat, well located, the breakfast in the terrace is very nice, the staff is very friendly too, but all the rooms face a patio (something very common in morocco) and if you get noise guests then it's a bit hard to have a quite sleep. Don't forget your earplugs, but that's a tip for pretty much any riad in Morocco, it's not hotel Assia´s fault, but the architecture in general there.

We stayed here for 4 nights in total either side of a trek to the Atlas mountains. Service great very polite and helpful. Rooms good bathrooms a little tired looking but clean and showers working well. Breakfast good boiled eggs fresh bread, jam, croissant etc coffee and tea. My family enjoyed their stay here and it was 5 mins walk from the main square. Positioned in a small alleyway but do not be put off by it's locatation it's an excellent value for money hide away.
