Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We stayed here for 3 nights on a girls holiday. The location was great - walking distance to everything. Rooms were very comfortable & service was amazing. Every member of staff was friendly & helpful & we were made to feel welcome from the very start of our stay. And the food in the restaurant was fantastic! We had booked to eat in the riad on our first night, as we were arriving early evening. However, we cancelled our last night booking at a restaurant so that we could eat in the riad's restaurant again. Everything was just great. I would love to return.

We stayed here with our two teenage children and we loved every moment we were here. From the moment we were met at the airport we felt welcome, and the beautiful staff all made us feel at home. The breakfast was amazing with lots of variety, and the dinner we had was exceptional, so delicious! We were given lots of advice about getting around the Medina and the souks on our first day, and we were able to book a really amazing tour to the Atlas Mountains directly with the staff at reception. Our apartment was spacious and comfortable and had a lovely seated area outside, as well as our own secret stairway to the rooftop terrace. I enjoyed a very refreshing swim in the small rooftop spa pool which was very welcome in the heat of the day, and we were treated to a wonderful musician singing and playing the guitar on the rooftop while we had drinks on our last evening. I would highly recommend Riad Karmela to anyone wishing to visit Marrakech, thank you to all the beautiful staff who made our stay such a pleasure ❤️

We had the most wonderful week at Riad Karmela. It is perfectly placed in the medina and is close to all the major places you would wish to visit. It is a haven of peace in the bustling medina and souks. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, clean and each has it's individual Moroccan decor. The communal areas are simply stunning with quiet areas to sit and relax. There was plenty of choice for breakfast which was delicious and the evening meals we ate there were the very best meals we had during our stay . But it is the staff that makes this riad so special. From the moment we arrived we were greeted with a smile and a lovely mint tea and pastries. All the staff are welcoming, kind, cheerful and can't do enough for you and are willing to go the extra mile. Marian and Fatima on reception were always on hand for help, advice, organising taxis and TutTuks. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and look forward to visiting again.

Fantastic experience! Karmela is a group of Riads and we stayed at the Zineb which had a large room with a separate bedroom which worked perfectly. Staff were all so attentive and couldn’t do enough to make our stay perfect. Breakfast was good and we arrived late on the first day but chef still made us some food. Despite the chaos in the streets just outside, it is calm and tranquil once inside the Riad. Great location. Cannot fault in anyway.

Lovely hotel and the staff are a pleasure. Ate at the hotel most nights and the food was great. Our room wasn't ready for the first night but it was so lovely and worth waiting for. We stayed in the Almansour room on the courtyard. March was a good time to travel if you don't like it too hot (24c on average). Don't be put off by negative reports of Marakesch - be sensible and there is no problem. You have to adjust to Marakesch but once you do, you'll love it.

We stayed at Riad Karmela from March 2-7. I can’t say enough great things about this place. The Riad is beautiful, with a lovely center courtyard and beautiful rooftop terraces. The rooms are generously sized, comfortable and authentically decorated. The buffet breakfast was delicious with plenty of variety and delicious home baked pastries. The staff is exceptional! Everyone from the front desk to the wait staff went out of their way to help us with anything we needed. Mahdi went above and beyond to answer all of my questions before we arrived and to line up excellent excursions. He advised me on his favorite area cooking classes, hot air balloon rides and tour guides for the Atlas Mountains. He even found me a private tour guide, Belkeziz Youssef, who took me on a 4 hour custom tour of the Medina. All of the wait staff was excellent but Mohammad was exceptional. He greeted us with a huge smile every day and made sure that our stay was wonderful. Look no further, this is the place to stay in the Medina. I will recommend it over and over again. Thank you to everyone at the Riad Karmela for making our visit to Marrakech so memorable

Lovely room, exceptionally good sleep, we had a roof top terrace, just beautiful. Breakfasts was continental but very pleasant, great dinner menu, with different local specialities changing every day. The staff were friendly and helpful and the location just outside the centre of the Medina made it convenient for all the attractions. Would highly recommend. ps. great barbers on the corner of the street of the Riad.

Lovely Riad in great location. Very calm atmosphere and the reception staff were excellent. Good breakfast in lovely traditional restaurant. Very pleasant and clean room but overlooked the entrance passageway which was shared by neighbours who were a bit of a pain.
