We arrived in Marrakesh during a rare downpour and Karim met us at our taxi and helped us with our bags to this riad. We were initially given a room that was on the roof and technically outside of the riad. Again, it was pouring rain so we had to dodge raindrops to get to our room, which was nicely decorated for my birthday... which was very thoughtful. My partner noticed that the bathroom just reeked. He could barely sleep that night because of the smell.... we slept with the bathroom door closed and we opened the windows in the room. The following morning, we requested another room, told Karim we were headed out for the day. When we returned, our bags had been moved to a better room, as requested. I will say Karim did everything we asked. The issue of the smell in the bathroom was less pronounced in this new room, but bearable, so we stayed. We were prepared to move to another hotel or riad. Breakfast was included in our stay and comprised of fruit, bread and Moroccan pastries, no protein. This riad has the potential to be so much more... we gathered from Karim that the owners operate other riads as well... perhaps they are too busy to pay attention to the guest experience. There are definitely many improvements that could be made.

A brilliant Riad in a very good location near the College 5 taxi stand. Easy walk to the main square and souks. The manager on duty was very helpful and gave us solid advice for dealing with the taxi drivers, ‘tour guides’, souk vendors, etc. The room was comfortable and clean. Because we were there for less than 24hrs and had an early morning tour start, they provided us with a picnic breakfast consisting of a variety of breads, pastry, cheese and cake. Would recommend staying here if you are looking for an authentic Riad. I wish we could have tried the spa offering.

We stayed here for 6 nights and what a little jewel in the Medina. The staff were great especially Karim and Aziz. The facilities were very good and clean with a plunge pool. However this was in the wrong place and felt like it was in the dining area. Would have been better on the roof. Based in the Medina it’s not the cleanest of areas but nowhere is !! You get fantastic value for money at this Riad. Morocco isn’t a place to visit if you’re worried about animal rights. Some appalling sights were everywhere. Cats and kittens everywhere skinny, diseased and so pitiful. Monkeys being made to jump at the wave of a stick. Cobra’s being kicked to stand up and dance to the music. Donkeys made to haul heavy loads day in day out tongues hanging out as they pull the carts. Horses with their ribs showing pulling around tourists in the constant heat no shade in the 30 degree plus. It’s the way of life in Africa but not for us. We won’t be going back.

Cannot fault the place or the staff. The helpful friendliness is wonderful. Plus they arranged the return of my mobile phone from the taxi where I’d left it and kept it safe for me. I will always stay here and suggest it to my friends. Comfortable rooms and delicious food. Plus the BEST breakfasts..

I can only highly recommend this beautiful Riad as it's really in the heart of Medina.. In a very nice area, close to everything! And mainly because it has been the best Riad I've seen..with amazing people who truly care about you 🙏 The place is so pretty... Rooms are super lovely.. The atmosphere is dreamy changing colours and light.. Everything is so clean,in style and made with love... Photographs and paintings give the house an artistic delight..it is quiet and private and safe There is plants everywhere and it always smells so so good. We stayed here for a couple of nights at the end of last month. A taxi dropped us off outside the nearby school and someone from the riad was supposed to meet us but no one was there and they didn't answer the phone when the taxi driver phoned them. However, the driver told us where to go and it was a short walk up a lovely, quiet alley to the riad. Once we had arrived, our room wasn't quite ready so we were served with some tea and given a map and had a chat about what to do etc. Our room was on the ground floor which, we discovered later, could be quite noisy with other people coming and going and having breakfast a few feet away from our door, so I would advise choosing the first floor if you can. However, the room was nice and spacious and the bed very comfortable. Breakfast was nice. We didn't visit the souk or the square as our main reason for visiting Marrakesh was to visit the SPANA charity animal centre, which was superb and a real privilege to see first hand where my donations go. The riad was a short walk to the gare routiere bus station which is handy for getting a bus (for 4 MAD each) to the train station and coach stations for our coach to Agadir (about £9 each single and took about 4 hours) The roof terrace was lovely with nice views of the city and the mountains. Would stay here again if we were to return to Marrakech.

Can't compare, but clean, comfortable, affordable and good location away from busy roads but short walk from The Madina. English spoken, breakfast good with pleasent sun terrace when you've had enough of the Madina. Karim help and friendly host. Bring warm jumper as cold at breakfast time in January. Evenings also cool in Marrakesh. Spent 5 nights here and highly recommend. Excursions also very well worth the travel time.

Myself and my partner visited riad L'Orchidee in June 2019. The staff were amazing and super friendly. Kalim was full of knowledge and very very helpful. We decided to go for the half board option and The food was delicious. We had an assorent of different tagine each night and they were all delightful! Lemon chicken was our favorite. Breakfast was great and very big with a big variety of options. Each meal was served to us by the chef or member of staff and was a lovely atmosphere. The intimate setting was a great experience and one we won't forget. The room was lovely and had a comfortable bed. The riad itself is beautiful and has a lovely roof terrace with a seating area. We would like to thank the staff dearly as they were so informative, friendly and helpful. It is also a great location just set away from the souks but a close enough walk to the madness that is the medina and souks. Thankyou!

Riad L'Orchidee was a wonderful, comfortable and beautiful place to stay. All the staff were very helpful, kind and gave us help and advice whenever we needed it. We felt really welcome. It was a really calm haven in the busy Marrakesh Medina. Breakfast was excellent. We would highly recommend it and would certainly return if we are ever in Marrakesh again

My girlfriend and I booked this Riad on our first time to Morocco. Upon arrival we were greeted and we felt like family right away. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay as comfortable as possible. The Moroccan style rooms are clean and spacious. Breakfast was delicious and the morning coffee hit the spot every day. The Riad had tours available at reasonable prices which took away the headache of trying to plan our days. We arranged pick up and drop at the airport through the Riad in order to make our life easier. The rooms had a safe where we secured cash, credit cards, and passport. We felt safe and welcome. Our only regret was not staying longer. It was difficult leaving such amazing friends. Look no further, if you are coming to Marrakech this is the place for you.
