I took my vacation here in May 2020 when hotels open back up. This location is still offering housekeeping and I greatly appreciated it. They also still honored my points and offered me breakfast for my status. I know that many Marriott properties cancelled that and I find that ridiculous.

The lobby of the hotel is pretty dated and feels very 1990s. Though it is very clean. The check in process was very nice and the lady working was quite friendly. I, however, was not offered any upgrade despite the hotel not even being close to Filled.

The room was modern looking but it was a little rough around the edges. Someone had ripped off the smoke detector and there were wires sticking out. They evidently put it in the wardrobe and for my five night stay it stayed that way. I was thrilled with the bathroom with nicely updated but the shower needed a good scrub. Truthfully the whole place made it a good scrub. I’m not a fan of the new toiletries that Marriotts is giving out. My room had a joining door to the next room and I could hear the person in there watching TV as if they were a deaf person.

The restaurant attached to the hotel was absolutely delicious and it was great for breakfast and dinner. All in all I would say I would come back to this hotel.

We stayed in this hotel for a family reunion. The hotel accompanied our family well. I loved the location on the water and the walkway. The staff was very accommodating. The location was great for getting around downtown August to museums and other points of interest.

I'm a Marriott Platinum and normally receive a request for a Verified Review after I check out from a Marriott, but did not this time. I'll post my review here instead.

Overall stay was good. Rooms are very nice. I don't care for the vinyl bedroom floors, but that's just me. I prefer to get out of bed and step on to carpeting. Part of their otherwise room remodel put vinyl flooring in the rooms which looks nice and stylish but just isn't comfortable.

The restaurant is great. They did a nice job with breakfast. All of the employees we encountered were wonderful, except two separate encounters we had with a guy named Bernard Harris. He is a security guard (but employed by Marriott I think) that walks around with a gold badge on his coat and is rude, defensive, and completely unhelpful. He begins his reply to you on the defensive, no matter what your request. I hope he'll receive more training from the rest of the staff here if he is to continue working in customer service.

Have stayed here before (3 years ago). Apparently Covid has allowed this hotel to decline even more. They no longer service your room unless you request it. I think that means the person before you must request it when they leave so it is clean for the next person because this was subpar for sure. Had dogs with us and thankfully I found the pills under the bedside table before one of them did. Paint peeling off ceiling in bathroom, headboard hasn't been cleaned possibly ever. Room smells old. Dusty walls in bathroom, mold in caulking, floor hasn't been swept very well in bathroom or bedroom. They do provide you with a pack of disinfectant wipes. This is not a $200/night room. We left a day early not to stay another night. Had I known, I would have accepted a night refund but my spouse let them slide. I hope the next person doesn't spend $500 for a two night stay here. Maybe they cleaned for the debutantes that arrived the day we bailed but for us, not so much.

I stayed here for a work trip. This hotel can be slightly confusing because there are two hotels attached, the regular Marriott and the Marriott Suites. It can be confusing trying to get to the Suites from the main entrance.
As for the room, I could hear everything coming from the room next to me. The wall (or maybe it was the adjoining room locked door) was so thin. Nothing was muffled. I could hear my neighbor’s television crystal clear, as well as their alarm every morning.
The restaurant hours were not long. After getting back to the hotel around 10 pm, everything was closed, even though there were signs throughout the hotel that it was “Open Late”.
Overall, it is a solid hotel, but disappointing from what I have come to expect from Marriott properties.

Dirty and run down. Room was nothing like a Marriott Bonvoy. Bathroom cabinetry was cheap plywood painted to look like a cabinet but chipped and cracked and missing paint. Bathtub had black mold and mildew all under handrails (i discovered while trying to take a hot bath. Eww). Shampoo and soap dispensers in shower were 3/4 empty. Tissue box was empty (and I assume being used for toilet paper) as toilet paper is cheap ruff texture and breaks up easily. Indoor pool was nothing like the pictures. I stayed here so my grandkids could swim indoors. Pool pictures show an elongated pool. It was a small square that could only accommodate 28 people in a stretch. Hot tub was cold and unusable. Sad because I called ahead to verify both were in good standing. Attached parking garage charging $7 for self park?? Staff was very friendly and truly went out of their way to be pleasant and helpful.

Dear 640jacip, Thank you very much for your feedback. We are exteremly disappointed that this was the experience that you had and take all feedback to improve our hotel. We have communicated this information to our Hotel Leadership in efforts to do better, especially for Housekeeping and Engineering. Our Property does have two pools, one located inside and one located outside. The picture that is the enlongated pool is the outdoor pool which is closed for the season and yes, our indoor pool is quite smaller. I apologize about the hot tub not working and this has been looked into by our team. We do thank you for the positive comments about the staff and that will also be passed on. We do hope you choose to stay with us again and we can give you the experience that you were supposed to have at our hotel.

My hotel room was terrible! The walls were dirty including the entry door. There was mildew on the tiles. The shower & tub faucets ran at the same time. The bottom of the tub was dirty. The TV in the living room area was disconnected. This was ridiculous especially for a suite. I was placed in room 258 with a horrible view. My view was the parking garage. As a Bonvoy Platinum Elite member I thought I would have received a better room. In reality this room should not have been assigned to any guest regardless of their Bonvoy Status.

The best part about this place was the lobby, common areas, and the wonderful customer service I received from the employees. I did receive a nice email from the manager apologizing for the inconvenience after completing my survey. However, I am still out of my points that I used to stay here. An apology only acknowledges the issue doesn't really fix anything for the guest experience.

I wish I had taken pics of our suite b/c it was beautifully decorated, clean, cozy, and updated. We had a small living room area with couch, chair, tables, and large TV. The bathroom shower was hot and had the best pressure. The sink, vanity, toilet, and shower were sparky clean. There was also an area that had a fridge, essentials, coffee maker, mirror, and counter space. The bedroom was 2 queen beds. Crisp white sheets and spotless duvet covers. Cozy and fluffy pillows provided- we melted into our bed. Large TV, lamps, desk, and ample charging/outlets provided for use. Will book here again if in the area. The entire hotel and convention center are high class. Augustino’s in house restaurant and bar had yummy beers and burgers. Thanks guys!

We were visiting friends and they had suggested staying here as it is next to the Riverwalk along the Savannah River. Parking at the hotel is $7/day unless you valet. The rooms were decent size and clean. They have the low volume toilets so flushing is a pain. The rooms were quiet. Room service is offered. There is also a nice restaurant inside the hotel, but it is closed on Sunday nights so you have to be satisfied with bar food. The hotel sits two blocks from Broad Street where a number or small eateries can be found as well as few small shops. Across the river is North Augusta, a quaint small town with a number of larger stores.

I’m 0/3 at this property. We have attended a convention here for the last 3 years here and had generally poor experiences every year. The staff is usually friendly but this year there was a security guard who took his job very seriously and was very diligent about harassing the convention guests. He ran folks out of the hallway during the after hours events, never been an issue in the past. Ran families out of the outdoor pool at 10:00, no pool hours posted and has never been an issue in the past. That leaves the dirty, run down inside pool, yuck. Marriot has been pushing me to download their app so you can check in through the app and skip the front desk, nope still have to go stand in line to get keys. I also requested an extra pillow and blanket on the app at check in, nope. Good luck getting a luggage cart, they only have a couple and the bell hops guard them like the security guard watches that pool. Room was sort of clean, an improvement over the past. There was a used contact lens stuck to the sheets, hopefully that was from the laundry… 1 regular coffee and 3 decafs. I message the service for some more through the much ballyhooed app, quick response and then they never bring them. If Marriot is going to keep using COVID as an excuse to provide less service at the same price, maybe stock the rooms better? I don’t know if I will attend the convention next year, this hotel although reasonably priced and convenient to the convention center is always a mess and having 1 employee bug us while the rest can’t seem to do basic hotel functions really makes a mediocre experience frustrating.
