Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We needed an overnight in order to attend the Rec Tec fest. This motel garnered a high rated in Its class. The price of the room on their website was discounted $5.00 from the already low price on Trip adviser. we were not disappointed. The bed was comfortable. The room quiet, and the room was spotless. The manager uses a night window to begin the check-in process until he knows and trusts who he is talking to. Covid precautions warrant this.

I work in Augusta frequently and this is a good place to stay right off the Washington Rd exit on I-20. Rooms are always clean and the place is quiet in the evenings. I have stayed here several times over the last three years. Definitely recommend.

Very clean. The staff is friendly and concerned about my needs. Most important things is that I saw no roaches. I’m not talking any of them back to my house. But there are none. The rooms are cleaned daily and the cleaning staff are very honest. Nothing has went missing out of my room except for the trash and used linens. I have absolutely no complaints. Everything is good. I’m happy. 😃

I am very, very confused how this place has received the good reviews it has. It was a last minute reservation I made for my daughter and I for one night. Looking at the amount of good reviews, I had no hesitation. Perhaps it's changed ownership in the last couple months?? There lobby door was locked at 3pm and I had to be let in my the management which I thought was weird considering I've stayed at West Bank Inn, while traveling, a couple hotels down from this place and the lobby wasn't locked. Regardless after checking in, while walking to our room (upstairs) there were people jumping the fence in the back which had barbed wire above it (pic attached). A toilet sitting outside of a room (pic attached) and people hanging out in the parking lot. What appeared to be homeless people sitting in the bushes drinking. And lets on forget to mention the man sitting at the only stairwell to get upstairs to our room, smoking something out of a bowl/pipe which was not marijuana (no smell). The empty beer can next to him and wet paper towels with "brown" substance on it (pic attached). And the bags of garbage in the near the stairs with flies all over it. Needless to say we never left our room until the next morning to check out. No way I was going back down that stairwell after dark for anything. Shocking thing about the place was our room appeared clean and ok for the night (hence the 2 stars). Really can't complain about the room itself if you can get past the shady clientele lurking around and filth to get to your room. Very, very basic but I'm ok with basic if it's clean. Nobody was disrespectful. Just not a family friendly atmosphere IMO. Next morning checking out lobby was locked again and management met me at the door to retrieve my card keys. While I know this a long winded review I would NEVER stay there again and highly recommend if you are traveling with your family to AVOID at all cost. The room was only $63. I'll pay the extra next time or go back to West Bank Inn for about the same price and much better stay. They happened to be booked that night. I even checked to see if there was another Sunset Inn that could possible be getting the good reviews. NOPE this is the place. Things have definitely change. Do not be fooled by the other reviews.

The place is easy to find. This is a budget motel. The toilet would not flush (I'm handy, so I got it to work). They install only one light bulb in the two bulb lamps, the facial tissue box was empty. However, minor issues aside, they did have a dorm-sized fridge (working) and a microwave. They had plenty of hangers, but no coffee maker. There were several restaurants within easy distance, including a Waffle House almost next door, so I did not suffer without coffee. The wifi worked GREAT - which is sometimes an issue even in expensive hotels. Given the budget price, I would return if I was in Augusta again.

I hate doing this because the owners are very nice, tried but our stay was horrible.

We were paying the Masters Premium, really insane prices (think Four Seasons) but we knew that going in. We were staying 4 nights. Our first room had been smoked in and we couldn't stay in it. The owner said there were no more kings and she could spray the room. We said stink on stink doesn't work.

Then she miraculously found a king upstairs.

"Newly remodeled" is a lie. Our room had a bend in the floor, water damage along the ceiling, molding coming down, stains in the shower, drawers not dusted, blanket had stains, etc. Ok we didn't expect too much. But this was awful. Then there was a LOUD band playing across the street in a tent, and it was like they were in our room. They played until after 2am! We asked about it and the owners said there was nothing that could be done. For the next 3 nights, the band played and we didn't sleep at all.

I mentioned something to the owner and then sent a follow up email and I am not pleased with the outcome as they offered a discount for a future stay but we won't be going back, ever. Beware!

Hotel is clean and well maintained staff are pleasant to work with. Probably the best economy hotel in Augusta. Have stayed here two months for work and no regrets. Good lighting outside easy parking. Room is cleaned well everyday and towels have a hint of bleach excellent in my book.
