We stayed at this hotel in January and we were shocked with their extremely poor management of Covid restrictions. When we checked-in, the people who were speaking to us were not wearing masks on their face and they put it back on only after they were done speaking; most of the staff we met in the hallway were similarly wearing masks on their chin and not on their face. None of them respected social distance when walking close by. We were hoping to stay for more than one night but found it extremely unsafe and decided to look for a different place.
Convenient and easily walkable to downtown and campus. Friendly and helpful longtime staff. Walls are paper thin as I heard the entirety of a lengthy zoom call the guest next door had on speakerphone like it was in my room. Halls can be noisy with late night party goers. Mixed feelings about this place as I like the location and staff, but not the construction and quietness of the hotel.
This property seems more like a converted apartment complex than a hotel. Ample parking. Some rooms open outside , but most are inside. Key access door was not operational and I walked on into the hallway. My room smelled like smoke. Lounge was closed due to Covid.
My first impression of this particular Courtyard was positive, as the reception and lounge area were up to the standards of most Marriott properties. It was modern, open and included a small Starbucks/cafe section. Unfortunately, the hallways leading me to my room took me back a couple of decades. Hallways were darker, leading to small rooms. Ours was a double bed which took up most of the room. Severe lack of storage, particularly in the bathroom. Mattress was firm and reasonably comfortable, but the both bedsprings had a squeak. A/C and heater unit was a physical unit that was not central. It would blow hard into the room, which made it too uncomfortable to use while sleeping. Even worse, the thermostat was frustrating to control. Toilet flush was weak and made a gurgling noise. Walls were pretty thin. I could hear people talking next door. Babies crying. Footsteps from the suite above us. Like most Courtyards, there is no room service or restaurant on site. It reminded me more of a motel than anything. Maybe this would have been acceptable when I was younger, but at my age I prefer staying in a place of comfort.…
This hotel was not our first choice , due to the fact we waited until 3 days prior to confirm our visit and make hotel reservations this was only one we could find with availability. This hotel is older, carpet looks a little dirty and the hallways smell like carpet deodorizer BUT the rooms are clean, very basic, but clean, the people who work there are SO NICE and pleasant. Every employee we interacted with from the front desk to the coffee/snack shop in hotel were so friendly. I would definitely stay here again.
