We were 2 couples and stayed here one night because the Hampton Inns in Athens were booked. We are loyal Hilton customers and expect the garden Inn to be a little better than the Hampton. Boy we were wrong. The Hotel is old & the bathrooms need to be remodeled to meet what we would expect of a Garden Inn. Both rooms had issues when we tried to take a shower. The water would go from hot to cold on its own. When you tried to adjust it it got real hot. Very disappointed.
We travel to Athens regularly.We always stay at The Hilton Gardens.The Front Desk Mgr., Katie is so welcoming and accommodating...we feel like family.She has even left us a "welcome" message when she is not on duty. Zack, the Front Desk Mgr.on duty, gave us her message and proved to be as helpful and welcoming as we have grown accustomed. The hotel is immaculate and super sanitized.We do miss the fresh baked cookies...one day again soon.We have never been disappointed in this hotel.Great location.Beautiful rooms.Clean, safe,secure.Excellent customer service.
The room was not very clean. Lobby wasn't clean. In the stair well to parking deck was a big pile of 💩. The bed were very hard. New caulking doesn't count for a remodel. Wouldn't stay again!the 30.00 parking fee is crazy when meters are free on the weekend.
We had a wonderful stay. All of the staff we came in contact with were super friendly and eager to assist if needed. The rooms were nicely appointed and extremely clean. I read a review from a previous guest stating that the bathrooms needed to be updated; they were obviously not renovated when the rooms were, however everything was sparkling clean and functional. We also found the bed to be nice and comfortable.
Have stayed here twice in 2 weeks. I have to say 10 out of 10 for this property. HGI here has done an excellent job with COVID-19 cleaning protocol. The Clean Stay program Hilton has put together is remarkable. Sealed room after sanitizing the room. All surfaces are obviously sanitized. Bed lines are changed out completely after every guest leaves. No room service (cleaning) unless requested, great to know nobody goes in the room other than you. Digital Key, don't need to go to the front desk = less contact. TV remote sealed in a bag after its cleaned. As a Diamond Hilton member I am partial to HGI's, but this one has gone far beyond what I would consider the "New Norm" well done HGI of Downtown Athens GA. & "Go Dawgs"
