Detailed Reviews
My colleagues and I stayed here for almost 2 weeks. The staff is warm and friendly. They accommodated a special request for a party to thank our hosts and Belizean colleagues, and were very generous with helping our arrangements. The rooms were spacious, clean, and air conditioned (extra fee if used), though being right on the waterfront the breezes from the lanai were often all that was needed. I enjoyed unwinding in our hammock at the beginning and end of each day. Convenient location in central Corozol Town. I look forward to my next stay here!

My daughter and I stayed for several days at Hok'ol K'in in February 2023. It was a very pleasurable experience. The owners, Aaron and Lucy, as well as their staff made us feel very welcome. The rooms were basic but were very clean. This was perfect for us as most of the things that we wanted to do were outside of the hotel, so we did not need any fancy accommodations. The hotel also has a restaurant that provides breakfast which I highly recommend. The fry jacks with refried beans, eggs, and choice of protein are excellent. Aaron is a sugar cane farmer, and makes sugar cane juice out of the stalks. He crushes the sugar cane and extracts the juice to make some very tasty cocktails. The restaurant also sells the juice in various flavors. Whether you're sitting at the restaurant, drinking a beer or lying and a hammock on your balcony, you will enjoy the relaxed atmosphere as the wind from the Caribbean Sea washes over you. I highly recommend this hotel, and I will definitely be staying there when I return to Corozal.

Cosy place. I got a room for 45USD, with a balcony, seaview, aircondition, TV and a just a really nice room. Which was a relief, since I had spent 1 night at the horrible Mirador Hotel in a disgusting room for the same prize.
The place has a restaurant and is just really nice.

Hok’ol K’in Guest House
Hok’ol K’in (a Yucatec Maya phrase for “coming of the rising sun”) is a pleasant ten-room motel/guesthouse just across the street from the bay, and there’s usually a nice breeze from the water. I've stayed here twice and enjoyed it both times. It’s run by a former Peace Corp volunteer and her family. Recent upgrades have added A/C in some rooms and TVs. The small restaurant serves inexpensive breakfasts, burgers and snacks. Unusual for Belize, one room is wheelchair-accessible. Rates: US$49-$60 double including tax, year-round.

I found the hotel and room very comfortable during my brief overnight stay there - the hotel is in a quiet location, right on the coastal road leading out of town, and a short five-minute walk to the Thunderbolt Dock for the boat to/from Sarteneja and San Pedro. The hotel itself is well-designed, with each room seeming to have a view of the sea, and my room itself was extremely comfortable, with two huge beds and a private balcony. What didn't leave a great taste in my mouth was the quality of the service there. I requested a quiet room, and was shown to a room on the first floor, but with an adjoining door leading to the next room. After I expressed concern about whether I'd be hearing any noise from the guest(s) nextdoor, the gentleman joked about this with his colleague working at the bar leaving me feeling rather awkward. Admittedly I was shown another room also, but this was on the ground floor close to the bar/restaurant and its loud music, so I went with the former. Unfortunately you could hear everything from the room nextdoor through the adjoining door, including coughing, and the TV which was on for some reason at 4am in the morning. I also found the lady working in the restaurant the next morning at breakfast indifferent, nonchalant and quite rude. I think this could be a great hotel, with its brilliant location and super-comfortable rooms, I would just recommend a bit more maturity and professionalism from the people who work there.

We were on a Mission trip working at a school in a nearby town and stayed at this hotel. We stayed for 10 days and it became our "home". The rooms are clean and comfortable, breakfast was great and the owners and staff were very attentive to our needs.
The view of the bay was great as well as their location close to the down town made for an easy stroll to shop or just people watch. Would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone.

I went back to Corozal this past Christmas and why would anyone stay any where else other than Hok ' ol Kin. For me it is like being at home really. The service is fantastic as Lucy and Aaron certainly provide every guest with the best possible service. The staff are very friendly and helpful making every guests experience top notch. The weather was fantastic nice warm days and at Hok' ol Kin you get a lovely sea breeze coming in right off the bay as the hotel is located right across the street from the bay.
If you are going to be staying in Corozal this is the place to stay at because you will always remember a great time at a fantastic hotel.

Hok ol K'in Guesthouse is a great place to stay. The rooms and hotel are spotless. It has a fantastic location.right across the street from the bay and the staff will treat you like family. Lucy and Aaron and all the staff really go the extra mile to see that you receive five star service.
I spent two weeks at this hotel from August 18-31 and I have travelled all over the world and this hotel is certainly exceptional value. The food is good and Lucy will cook it just the way you like it. I would not hesitate to recommend Hok ol K'in to anyone for any type of stay.

A generally well run, centrally located guesthouse with clean rooms, hammocks, and small restaurant/bar-and a freaking dog that barks at all hours. Thin walls. Other downside is that while it is on the bay, it is also on one of two main drags and the traffic can be bothersome as early as 6am. Staff not helpful on pre-arrrival questions. I would give Ho Kol KIn an 8, but that dog caused me to move to a quieter location after five days.
