Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were searching for a place to stay not far from Long's Peak. We enjoyed our visit so much that we plan to return next year for a family retreat. Great view of Mt Meeker from room, horseback riding, archery, rock climbing, hiking, and canoeing are available. Dining facility serves buffet style meals for B, L and D. (meals are extra) Our "room" was actually two--one with two twin beds, and the other room with two sofas that pull out into double beds plus a queen sized murphy bed. Each side of the larger room led to an adjoining room. No T.V. but WIFI access in room. Cabins are also available to rent. (Cabins require you bring your own linens.) The retreat is approx 10 years old. Very clean. Staff was accomodating and friendly. We spent $70/night including tax.

This retreat center was emaculately maintained - very clean. It is comfortable. It is quiet. The service is outstanding - caring people who are extremely willing to help and explain things to you. The rooms are very spacious, but all the beds are singles - either 4 or 6 beds to a room - would work nicely for families. The on-site meals are good - definitely not gourmet, but very adequate in portions and taste and reasonably priced. This is definitely a place where you leave "screens" goodbye - no TV and very poor WiFi service. If you are looking for a nice, quiet place to get away from the rigors of normal life this is a beautiful setting to do that. The views are spectacular. A number of good trails to hike with varying difficulty degrees. Other activities available at additional cost.

This is one of the most beautiful and loving places anywhere. Don't miss staying or visiting this one of a kind Christian retreat where everyone is welcome regardless of belief. So much to do in a stunning and beautiful setting.

We go to this camp every year with a group. This year the food was definitely below our expectations. There was some mystery meat and the food was often cold. The cabins are in need of a good cleaning and some refurbishing. It was difficult to clean one of the bathrooms because the sink was stained. There were wood ants all over the cabin, although the staff did come vacuum them up and spray - but I didn't like them spraying just as we arrived! When we arrived on a Thursday, the camp was empty yet on Friday (as tons of people were arriving) they decided to pain hand rails and benches so they were unusable for a day or two! Ridiculous. There was also a big chart in the lobby about "reducing debt." This seems strange since they have increased their rates on everything reduced their food and service. The location and retreat center are lovely, they just need to be more customer service oriented and take better care of the rest of the property. A note, the zip line has been broken/out of service for five years!

I stayed at this camp & retreat center as part of a women's retreat for our church denomination. The accommodations were excellent. The food was quite tasty. The staff were fantastic. And the views were unmissable. We experienced quite a bit of snow during our April stay, so we were not able to get outside and explore quite as much as we might have if it were dry and warmer. But, the snow left an already pristine and beautiful landscape even more gorgeous. I would recommend this location to anyone!

My group of 10 women friends just finished a fabulous, 3-day retreat in the Rocky Mountains near Allenspark. The Highlands Lodge is perfect for large or small families and groups- with good food, bright clean rooms with homemade quilts on the beds, meeting rooms that look out towards Longs Peak and Mount Meeker, and warm and friendly staff. I recommend Highlands Camp and Conference Center highly!

Our large family has enjoyed Highlands for our past two reunions. The always-open coffee/ juice bar was fun for kids and adults. The staff was kind and helpful. My family had their first experience with a labyrinth. My favorite part of this camp is how isolated it is. We had no phone or Internet available, and it was wonderful without the distraction.
