Detailed Reviews
This was the only hotel in the area that I could find that offerred a hot plate option for breakfast. They offer Juice, coffee, or milk, with etiher a hot plate of scrambled eggs and meat, or you can get a Grab n Go bag that has 2 pieces of bread, peanut butter, jelly, 2 oatmeal packets, sugar packets, and a yoplait yogurt cup, (flavors changed daily}, and a piece of fruit, you get to pick a banana, apple or orange and eating utensils/napkins.They also were able to put us on the 3rd floor per our request, and they have elevators too. Only 20 minutes to Morro Bay, 10 minutes to Paso Robles, and we paid under $300 for 3 nights on a holiday weekend. If the pool/spa and fitness center was open it would be even better, but due to Covid-19 it was not yet open. I was able to leave our garbage outside our door and they dropped off liners for us and provided us with some tea bags when my son wanted hot tea. The fridge and microwave is always handy in the room. Only thing, the freezer did not work, but we did not mind.

I'd like to preface this by saying that I work in a hotel:
We checked in super late on Friday night and we were greeted by a great Front Desk Agent. I cannot recall her name but she was very nice and helpful and attended to all of our needs.
We stayed in a room with two Queen beds and a pull out sofa. I could not find linens for the sofa anywhere so my nephew slept on the sofa without pulling it out. Our queen beds were made up nicely and there was no sign of bed bugs anywhere, I checked (nature of the job!) The BB covers were ripped and do not enclose the mattresses so they should be replaced as a precaution.
I did notice thick dust behind the beds, in the windowsills and along most places a guest may not touch, along with spider webs around our lamps.
The bathroom had a mildew like stench (rm. 203) The shower was lovely however it was very dirty. The three shower heads could use some attention, there was plenty of calcium build up (CLR is a great tool!). The shower walls were filthy. There were noticeable spots of dirt and grime built up, especially on the floor of the bathroom.
I was surprised to find that you could still be served a hot, albeit reduced due to COVID, breakfast and that was a wonderful start to the day. The juices seemed to need to be watered down a bit more though.
I appreciated the modern look of the room and with some proper cleanliness, this place could be a real gem!

We have stayed twice at this hotel in the past few months and both times had an enjoyable stay. The first time we had a standard king bed room, which was very nice, and the second time we had an executive king bed room which was large and had a sofa for two. Both rooms were on the courtyard side and were very quiet. Both rooms had microwave ovens and refrigerators and small, but well equipped bathrooms. The included breakfast buffet was good, but was over by 9 a.m. which is early for a hotel in a vacation area were we assume guests are more likely to get up later.

I'll start off by saying the people were friendly there but we were disappointed in the hotel. I was surprised when they said we needed to take our dirty towels to the front desk to get clean ones, then we needed to put trash cans outside of our room to be empty and no beds would be made while we stayed there. I understand this is due to the pandemic but we called around other hotels and they weren't doing it any longer. No blow dryer in the room, breakfast was included in the price and it was awful and very limit selection, so we went else where. The vanity light over sink didnt work, The creamer for room coffee was old, so when I stirred it into my coffee it curdled, gross! Our view out side our window show a very dirty pool, which I can understand due to the pandemic. The room was dusty since I had sinus problems the whole time I was in the room. Dont stay here!

My husband and I stay at Best Western hotels several times a year. We were very frustrated with our experience here, in fact it was the worst we have had out of all of the BWs we have been to.
Everything was fine when we checked in (although I wish the woman at the front desk were wearing a mask). However, we were woken up every 45 minutes to an hour by a loud screeching/whistling sound. It lasted ALL NIGHT, leaving us exhausted to continue our move up to northern California the next morning.
When I called the front desk asking for a refund, the woman acknowledged that the room above us had been placed "on hold" due to a pipe issue and that she thought it was wind going through the pipes. She said she would have to leave it to the general manager as to whether we got a refund. Despite that the single service we needed from the BW was not med (a nights sleep), the general manager refused to refund us our money. The woman at the front desk, however, did give us a discount.
There are a lot of hotels in Atascadero. I highly recommend not choosing this one.

We’ve stayed here in the past and due to the positive experience we had then, decided to book again. BIG MISTAKE. Beds, grounds, pool area, carpets and overall condition of the hotel had obviously taken a huge turn in the wrong direction. I would guess this location to be under new ownership/management and/or is grossly understaffed because its condition was no where close to deserving of its cost/night. If what this hotel has to offer, is what the industry standard has become, God help us all. That’s too bad, it used to be a good place to stay.

This motel is dog friendly ($20/night) with a small dog park. It is in good condition and our room was clean and friendly with a microwave and refrigerator. Had a table and 2 chairs. Chairs are hard if you spend any time in them. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was hot ommlet and bacon one day and hot scrambled eggs and sausage the next. Staff was pleasant at both check in and check out.

This was not a trip I wanted to make. I chose this hotel because it was the closest to the hospital that my husband was at, and we weren't sure when he would be released so that we could return to our hometown 1500 miles away. The staff were amazingly helpful and understanding during this time and I would recommend the hotel to anyone for leisure or otherwise. The breakfast option was a nice return and included items other than pre-packaged processed food.

This is a very comfortable Best Western, well maintained (even the stairways are carpeted). There is an outdoor pool. There is sufficient parking. The breakfast offerings are varied and well maintained. The front desk staff is knowledgeable and helpful.

Thank you for your review. I sincerely appreciate you and the feedback you gave us. It looks like you had a pleasant stay, and were satisfied across the board. However you gave us 4 out of 5. That means there is room for improvement that I must know about. Please do tell us what we need to do to always deserve a 5 out of 5.

We arrived around 5pm and the hotel looked deserted. We when to check in and the lobby was very sparse. We were informed that the property is no longer associated with best western, the pool was closed, and there was no breakfast included as advertised.
Additionally, after booking a pet friendly property, we were informed that the pet fee was $55! That was literally a 50% up charge. Pet fees are normal, but this was exorbitant!
The mattress felt like an elephant had been sleeping on it for a year, no support. It was like sleeping in a hammock!
The nightly rate of $105 is pretty on par for the quality, but adding $55 for one silent 12 pound dog for one night is an outrage. Advertising the rate as breakfast included and not having it is an unacceptable business practice.
We won’t be back.
