We are Disney pass holders and frequently stay at Anaheim area hotels. This was our first time staying Desert Palms. We stayed while we were attending D23. The proximity to both the convention center and Disneyland was great, we walked to both. The breakfast buffet was pretty standard but they had attendants that did a great job of cleaning and keeping everything stocked. The pool is small but there were plenty of towels and the pool furniture was comfortable. The biggest problem and why we likely wouldn’t return is the parking. The lot seemed pretty limited when we arrived and when I inquired the person at the front desk said there were a lot more rooms than parking spaces. This made us very nervous to move our car in case we couldn’t get a spot again so we walked everywhere. Also on the day of checkout there were signs in the lobby saying you had to move your car by 12pm due to limited parking. We wanted to stay in the area until about 3pm and even asked about leaving the car a few extra hours and the staff said no. We had to drive our car to another lot and pay for parking again just for a few hours. We’ve stayed at lots of hotels in the area and some do have restrictions on when you have to be out on the day of checkout but it’s usually later in the afternoon or evening.

We have stayed at many hotels in the area, this was are 1rst at Desert Palms and it was great. The beds were very comfortable, shower pressure was great and our towels were restocked and garbages emptied everyday. On the 3rd day they made our beds and did a more in depth cleaning so that was nice. The breakfast had something for everyone and we had no complaints about it. The pool was heated and the kids could swim even though it wasn’t that warm outside. It was very close to walk to Disney. We traveled with a party of 9 ranging from age 9-83, and everyone was able to easily walk to the park. My only complaint was the noise from outside the windows and in the hallway could be a little loud at times, seems like the doors and windows were a little old and didn’t block the sound. I would choose this hotel over many others in the area. I would best compare it to our stay at the residence inn across the street and would prefer it over the Grand legacy, Clarion and Del Sol which we have all stayed at.

We stayed five nights in four rooms. They do not clean the rooms while staying so toilets can get really gross (you know what it is like eating food that normally is not eaten at home). The hotel and rooms were spotless to start out though. The rooms are spacious and the beds comfortable. There are no extra blankets but the air conditioner responds quickly. I am glad I brought my sound machine as the street has sirens during the night. The buffet breakfast was good one day and meh the rest of the time with dry powdered eggs. The staff is very friendly and helpful. If you are paying for several rooms, you must be there for anyone else to get in their room unless they put one night on theiir credit card. This caused problems for us.

The location is about 18 minutes of walking to the entrance of Disneyland, but Uber doesn't get you close enough to justify it. I had walking problems and wish I had known that I could have spent $4.50 a day and ridden the bus back and forth all day. Make sure to stay for the fireworks one night. After the parade, get into the middle of the street ASAP to watch it. All in all, it was a great trip and the location of the hotel was very convenient. If they offered housekeeping services I would stay again and reccomend it to friends. At this point in the pandemic, it seems like they are just using it as an excuse to not have to clean.

One of the best places to stay for a family trip to Disneyland! It is within walking distance for most and there's a bus to Disneyland at the end of the block that picks up every 10 to 20 minutes. The bus is $6 a day for adults and $2.50 a day for kids and seniors. Definitely worth it, at the end of the day our kids were very tired and mom was able to get back to the room whenever she needed a break. With a 2 room suite we were able to split the kids into separate rooms with parents in one and grandparents in the other. There are 2 queen beds in each of the rooms nobody got stuck with a rollaway bed. the adults were able to easily trade kids back and forth without having to leave the shared room. Having 2 showers between the rooms is great for keeping everyone moving so everyone can get ready. The sinks are in a shared hallway and the 2 bathrooms each have a toilet and shower. The rooms both exit from the forward room and the other room is a little louder because it is the window room. It worked well for us, it could be difficult for a light sleeper and don't want to be disturbed by your group, but the pass through room was very quiet. I would definitely recommend it and will be staying again.

We stayed as a family of 6. I requested a crib twice over the phone and once in the email and there was no crib upon arrival and no crib until about 1 hour afterwards.

The hotel house keeping staff mistakenly threw out my laundry on the first day. No one tried offered me anything or even bothered to call me once they heard from the house keeping staff. I had to call the desk and ask if they had found my items. They had told us the room was cleaned on the 4th day, but this happened on the 1st night. On the 4th day, my room had not been cleaned. I had to call and request my room to be cleaned. They had cleaned my room the 3rd night.

The king bed was so uncomfortable. My husband said it was fine, but I slept so tense and stiff. The pillows were very thick. They gave us 3 face cloths for a family of 6, and I had to call and request more a few times.

The breakfast was ok, pretty standard. They had apples and large oranges, but no other fresh fruit for the day. They advertised breakfast until 10:30 but we had the lights turn off on us one morning when we were there at 10:15. The room or lobby does not have any lids for cups, napkins, cutlery etc, so when we did order food we were struggling for the kids.

The hotel was a good location.

I usually have no issues with hotels next to Disney but this hotel was by far the worst one we have stayed at. Some of our family that was with us required a mobility scooter to which we were originally told to leave them in the lobby. We then received a phone call to move them upstairs to which we did like we were asked. The next day we got a note to put them in our room due to a fire hazard. To which we understand, so we talked to the staff and told them our room does not accommodate us for mobility scooters in our room so it would be even more of a fire hazard to keep them in our room. The staff responded “well I don’t know what to tell you”. Finally, I asked to speak with the manager and she once again asked us to leave them in the lobby. Thinking all our problems are solved and we can now enjoy our time. Nope. Our AC in our room kept malfunctioning reaching over 80 degrees in our room. When the staff gave us more towels (because there were 5 of us in one room with only 4 towels) they secretly charged us after checkout for those towels that were supposed to be “complimentary”. When our family went up to have breakfast the staff turned off the lights on those who were still eating, and even turned off the waffle maker on a young girl who was in the middle of making her breakfast. The staff then had the nerve to rush families out of the room who were still eating. This hotel has the most unprofessional staff I have ever seen.
I would recommend staying at the grand Legacy or springhill suites by mariott.
Desert Palms, do better.

This hotel not only had a great location with a nice, short walk to the Disneyland resorts but was close to a number of stores that had great and inexpensive food options. I liked staying on the same side of the six lane road as Disney as there was only one short stop light to cross to get to the parks. We were offered the option of early check in for a reasonable fee if available . It was and it was nice to be able to settle in before heading to the park. The hotel itself was clean and bright and the suite we had was perfect for eating in with the four person table and relaxing with the sofa and armchair. The beds were also some of the most comfortable I have experienced at a hotel so I slept better than I usually do when not at home. Overall, a great stay and I would return.

We stayed in the 2 room suite with a kitchen. The room was clean and beds were comfortable. There was a sofa but no chair, the room definitely needs a chair. We thought about taking one from the area in front of the elevator but we didn't. The room sleeps 6 but there's not enough space for 6 or enough places to sit for 6. There was only 3 of us so it worked but it was tight. The kitchen had everything needed to cook and eat meals including pots, pans, plates, bowls, cups, and utensils. The fridge is an apt size, which is nice however ours was missing the bottom drawer and the rack on the bottom shelf of the door. They include dishwasher pods and dish soap. It's a great location, about a 10 minute walk to Disney. There's a CVS and Walgreens across the street, and a 7-11 next door. Like most hotels in the area they charge for parking. The restaurant has a nice variety of food options and the food is good, just expect most meals to be around $20 each. They do have good chips and guacamole for $8 which I think we ordered everyday. The hotel has a great free breakfast and plenty of seating. A good variety of options each day. The staff were friendly, helpful, attentive and responded quickly. My only issue is with the covid housekeeping policy - after nearly 3 years covid is still being used as a reason to not clean rooms on a daily basis. They enter the rooms to empty the garbage and switch out towels but will not make the beds or vacuum. We had to ask a few times for toilet paper. I'm paying more for the stay then I did pre covid for less services. We aren't asking for much but after a long day at Disney it's nice to come back to a freshly made bed and a vacuumed room. That being said the housekeeping staff cleaned the common areas of the hotel all day long. Definitely more pros than cons here and we will stay there again.

Before we arrived, we called multiple times to verify checkin was at 3pm, as we had dinner reservations at 430pm and wanted time to settle in and get ready. We called 4 hours prior to request to pay for early check in, but they could not grant that, which we completely understood. During this conversation we again clarified that check in would be 3pm and were again told yes. We arrived at the hotel early, 1pm, parked our car, and planned to go to downtown Disney for a bit before check in. We again, went inside and verified check in was 3pm. Once 3pm came, we went to check in and the front desk employee said not until after 4pm would our room be ready. She was absolutely not apologetic, didn’t offer any accommodations such as storing our luggage (at least an offer), said there was nothing she could do at all, and told me to use the lobby restrooms to change and get ready for dinner. We eventually did request to speak with a manager, which rushed our room to be cleaned so we did eventually check in at 330pm but the front desk staff could absolutely improve their customer service skills.

The room itself was fine. The breakfast was not impressive, not many options. We have stayed at nearby hotels previously, and will not be staying at this hotel again, as we have experienced much better service, rooms, and inclusive breakfast.

All in all, we had an ok stay. The manager did make it right and in the end, we did enjoy our vacation.

We love the Desert Palms hotel and have stayed there several times over the past couple of years. Its proximity to Disneyland and DTD is fantastic- a quick, less than 10 minute walk. Our rooms are always very clean and the beds are very comfortable. We can be picky about our mattresses, but we always sleep well at the Desert Palms. This July was pretty hot and we were worried about the room staying cool, but our AC keep our room at a nice and comfortable temperature. The rooms have a mini-fridge and microwave so we could bring back leftovers. Our kids loved the pool and I appreciated that it's surrounded by the buildings so it's partially shaded and protected from the street noise. We drove and parked at the hotel, in the underground parking garage. While we had to pay $25 a night, it is worth it to have your vehicle protected and in a safe place, away from anybody walking down the street. The free, hot breakfast in the mornings is a huge plus for our family, and our boys loved making waffles every morning. There's no doubt that we'll be staying at the Desert Palms again when we come back to visit!
