Nestled close to Downtown Disney, the Holiday Inn & Suites Anaheim garners praise for its convenient location, ideal for theme park enthusiasts. While the quiet and secure ambiance of the hotel is appreciated by guests, along with its cleanliness, opinions diverge on the decor, which some visitors find outdated.
Room experiences vary; cleanliness and comfort receive accolades, but others point out issues with size and datedness. Service shines with staff lauded for their helpfulness, although the additional fees for amenities like parking and breakfast have left some guests feeling the value of their stay diminished.

Detailed Reviews
Service was excellent all round - Front desk had a problem with my reservation because of my tour provider and did everything they could to fix it as quickly as they could. It had no impact on the rest of my trip, check in just took a little longer than usual. Restaurant was excellent. I was by myself with two kids, aged 8 & 12. Both ate for free if I purchased something. They even brought my 12 year old an extra pizza when he inhaled the first one and didn't charge me for it. This saved me a fair bit of money in meals. If I didn't eat, then they charged a reasonable price to eat off the kids menu, much cheaper than anything else available. Food was also good. They also had a small selection of local craft beer which was nice.
Pool was heated to the point that it was warm and quite enjoyable anytime of day. That meant that the hot tub didn't feel all that hot, but it was still warmer than the pool. Pool was usually pretty social and you could talk to other people quite easily.
Location was great. A 20 minute walk each way for me and the kids was easily doable. It's Disneyland - you are going to walk. This was a good warm up. We could see the Fireworks from a balcony spot they had.
The gas station next door was also handy for grabbing snacks and things.
I liked that it was off the hustle and bustle of Harbor Dr but still very accessible to the parks.

Our trip to Disneyland was to celebrate our granddaughter's birthday. In the past we have stayed at one of Disney's properties but decided to go with the Holiday Inn as it is next to Disneyland (it seems necessary to say that our usual Disney hotel was under significant construction and there were no guest services being offered). The location was perfect and we were able to use a door to door bus ride provided by the city for a small fee (a real bargain for multiple days). The room was tight but comfortable and clean enough. The reduced cleaning schedules brought on by covid is taking its toll on hotel rooms (we have seen this everywhere in the past 2 years). However, the housekeeping staff are great. They were so helpful with anything we needed including some quick sewing with a last minute costume problem for our little princess!
We took a couple of meals in the hotel restaurant. The food was ok and basic. However, the staff was very friendly and went beyond our expectations to put together meals for a picky little eater. Just a few additional notes- the beds were ok and the pillows were good. All of the staff were great. They were welcoming and helpful with anything we asked. However, the real bonus was that I paid less to stay here than I would have paid in fees and taxes alone at that Disney property.

The official name of this hotel is deceiving...it’s certainly not 1 block from Disneyland. It’s a 15-20 minute walk to get to downtown Disney, then thru downtown Disney to the parks. For us it wasn’t a problem but if the customer is expecting to be that close to Disney due to mobility limitations then they should rethink. There is a shuttle that stops at the hotel and for a one way fare of $4 you can get dropped right outside the main gate area of the parks. They also have a $6 day pass for that bus, but you must buy that from the front desk, it cannot be purchased on the bus.
The hotel itself was just fine, we found the staff to be kind, the room was fine, beds comfortable. Room has coffee maker, fridge and small microwave. Pool was open but splash park was not. The restaurant was great for breakfast, very reasonably priced. The bar in the evening was a great value, drinks were very inexpensive compared to places in downtown Disney. Parking is $18 per day, but not unreasonable considering cost to park at the parks. The price we paid for the room was a very good deal for the proximity to the parks! Overall would stay again.

Hello Kizchris, Thank you for choosing to stay with us among your many lodging options. We appreciate your willingness to share your feedback. We're resolute in combining a sense of comfort and happiness with touches of real wonder and delight to all our guests. That said, I am glad that you found our hotel nice, our staff members inviting, along with finding your room adequate with comfortable beds and good amenities. It is also great that you enjoyed our pool area, and had a great dining experience, for finding our rates fair. It is with regret though learning that the hotel name caught you off guard on its location. We strive to provide our guests with excellent facilities and an unforgettable stay. We take feedback seriously, and I'll inform our hotel management team to make the necessary modifications so we can provide a better experience in the future. Again, thank you for your comments, and for choosing to stay with us. I hope that we can win back your heart back and try us again. Best, Kenneth F. Case Manager IHGService

I booked two rooms at this hotel for myself and family members. As soon as I arrived, I sensed that this hotel was not quite what I expected from reading the hotel's website and reviews.
My room felt cold and musty, and the rug was still wet from something. My room was across from the elevator which had a noise like a semi truck jake brake, and next to that was the laundry supply room.
The bathrooms in both rooms looked like we were camping in a RV. the wood trim was rotting at the bottom of the bathroom door, and we couldn't use the sink/vanity area without shutting the door into the toilet and shower area.
When I booked these rooms I was encouraged by the person taking my call to pay in advance for breakfasts for the four of us.
When my daughter turned up for breakfast, after being up all night with a sick child, she was told she couldn't have breakfast without the entire party present. When she asked for a cup of coffee, they told her it would be $2.75. I had already paid somewhere in the neighborhood of $16.00 each person for breakfast. When I told the front desk that my daughter was refused breakfast, I was told that was not common or believable, and was not offered any apology or credit on the meals I had paid for.
The pool was clear and green. Which indicates me that algae and bacteria were present. It was gross, and I was surprised that people were allowing their children into that pool.
The cover photo of this hotel shows a water feature. I went to look at it, and it was like a desert scene from a bad movie. It was faded and dry as a bone. When I asked why it looked like that, I was told the features are activated by sensors, which means their water feature is nothing more than a sprinkling system.
The website and booking agent also mention that this hotel is one block from Disneyland. Well, the block is a half mile long. Once the block ends, one must walk further into the Disneyland Hotel, then through Downtown Disney, then finally into the park. This is at least a full mile from the entrance gates of the park.
Thankfully, because I booked directly, I was able to cut my four nights booking into two, and moved to another hotel. This action helped to save our vacation from staying at this seedy, dreary, loud hotel.
In closing, the on site manager knew that I had some issues I wanted to discuss, but she was very good at avoiding eye contact, and greeted another guest and started to check them in, even though I was next at the desk to be helped.
I am so happy we left this place, and learned a great lesson about being able to cancel if you book direct. If I had booked through a third party, I would of been stuck with paying for the four nights. But, I would of left anyway.

Hi CapitolaJewel, Thank you for your review and expressing your thoughts about how we have hosted your IHG experience. I am sorry about the less than helpful level of customer service delivered by the upper management of the hotel. I recognize your disappointment with the hotel amenities, dining experience and hotel information via the website. Kindly be informed that this is not our standard service and I am sorry about the experience. This information will be shared with the upper management and each individual staff involved for checking. In line with this, I have sent you a private message to ask more information about your stay. Again, thank you for making us aware as we value your visit. I look forward to your response. To start: I like kids, so I enjoyed my stay as a business traveller as this is not a typical business hotel. Breakfast was an environment with more animation than usual, including Disney movies on the TV. Regarding breakfast: I had buffet, but for once, it looks like the a la carte menu orders were for sure looking good as well, with more options like waffles that are not available at the buffet.
The room itself was one of the old style Holiday Inns, it can use an update. Things are all functional and clean, no comment on that part. The bed was like the room, an update would not hurt, but nothing dramatic. I had a room on the third floor, and had to wait that long for the elevator I decided to use the stairs.
The fan in the bathroom makes a lot of noise
Given the price, I will look for another hotel when I return to this area.

If you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel within walking distance of Disneyland this meets the brief very well. Like most Holiday Inns you get a good sized room with all the features you need. This property is clearly designed for Disney so is great for families (although disappointingly the “splash zone” which we have enjoyed before was closed for maintenance). The walk takes about 15 mins to the security check and maybe another 10 from there into either park. Parking was $22 a day which seemed reasonable for this location. Our family of four have two kids aged 10 and 8 and we found it massively helpful to come home from the park around 4pm for a couple of hours’ rest before returning, and the location of this hotel allowed us to do so easily on foot

It may be one block from Disneyland as the crow flies but is about a 15 – 20 minute walk down Walnut, cut through the Disneyland Hotel grounds, through Downtown Disney to the entrance area.
We stayed one night here. Upon check-in were given a room on the 3rd floor and when we opened the door the occupants, who were changing, were as surprised as us. Back to the front desk for a new room and were given a room on the 4th floor in a building further away from the front desk. No apologies from the front desk about the mix-up. The new room was OK but had to call maintenance, the TV did not work. Maintenance arrived quickly and fixed this problem. My profile requests a top floor away from elevator. We were on the 4th floor, across from the elevator.
Had coffee in the morning and the creamer was bad, every package just clumped in the coffee.
When reviewing the bill, found a charge for a long distance phone call that was from the original room we were given. After bringing this to the attention of Tony on the front desk, an adjustment was made to the bill to remove the long distance charge.
Parking is $18/day.
We most likely will not stay at this property again.

We are currently staying at room 3207, we arrive late Wednesday we're so tired but we saw the room wasn't cleaning properly, and even if you report they don't seem to care. We were contacted by a Manager Arely Alvarado but she was not too helpful even having the pictures of the details. They are good at doing their job by charging for everything, we pay extra large double beds, and the resort fee, they say are not able to refund for the fee because is a resort policy, I guest giving a customer a decent and clean room are not.

We always stay with IHG because the rooms and service always our expectations. Unfortunately this location missed the mark and what we expected. We were disappointed that complementary breakfast was not included in our $1800 room for 6 people. The same breakfast that we get included at other location, we had to pay $22 a person here.

I do not know. I did not bring a pet and did not see any while I was there. Sorry I am not a help.
Hello Getaway662841,
Majority of the time the gates are open to the parking structure and guests can walk right in to get on the tram system. Every once and a while the gates do get closed and you would have to complete the walk into Downtown Disney. If you are going into the Disneyland park and not California Adventure you can always get on the Monorail inside Downtown Disney as well.
Warm regards,
-Holiday Inn Team
