The Royal Sonesta Washington DC Dupont Circle is celebrated for its prime location near dining, transit, and city sights, making it a convenient choice for many travelers. Guests frequently commend the hotel's cleanliness and spacious rooms, while the amenities, including the restaurant and comfortable bedding, add to the enjoyment of the stay. Excellent service from start to finish. Dave allowed me to check in very early for a nominal charge, arranged for a down free hypoallergenic room, and the housekeeping staff made it happen in short order. The restaurant staff was kind and attentive and the doormen very friendly. The room was very spacious and immaculate. The best part was how comfortable the bed was. Slept soundly each night. I'll definitely book again.

Great place—pool was the perfect late afternoon retreat on DC’s hottest day. Incredible staff and very comfortable rooms. Linens were squeaky clean. Full gym included free weights, spin bike, weight and cardio machines with enough space for yoga/stretching . Great farmers market a block away on Sunday mornings Good vibes at Royal Sonesta DuPont Circle.

We stayed at the hotel for a week for a family reunion. The location of the hotel was excellent, being near to Embassy Row in a calm area of the city that is very close to the bustling centre. The rooms were spacious & clean at all times, and the housekeeping was always prompt.
Our favorite part of the stay was the front of house staff, as they were highly welcoming & accommodating to any & all requests, making our stay a breeze. We are especially thankful to Mr Sadek, who ensured our stay was the best it could be, always providing us with excellent service and advice. The amount of attention & professionalism he paid to us made this a memorable trip.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. Booking made for Deluxe Queen 2 x bed. 2 rooms. Family of 6 travelling together and booking stated interconnecting or adjoining rooms and we were put on Level 5 and Level 10 opposite sides of hotel. I was separated from young children and unable to care for them properly as travelling with my father and 4 children. Staff at desk didn’t even care. At check (late at night) in the guy was rude, at best and when I went back down next morning to discuss further the desk guy couldn’t have cared less. The “destination fee” is a rip off, for one thing no “high speed” internet to be found. Then to top it off my 3 year got sick and vomitted through the bed. I rang housekeeping but “guest services” answered and the woman was sooooo rude to me on the phone. Over half an hour later I rang again and said I get that you are rude and completely inconvenienced but just the deliver the new bedding and I will change myself as wouldn’t want to have anyone here help me in any way. Waited ages and some bedding showed up and I said I also need a new mattress protector and pillow cases she rolled her eyes and pulled a face and then came back ages later with them. I said what do I do with soiled bedding when I’ve changed the bed and she said to me “no English just speak Spanish” so I ended up with the soiled sheets sitting in our room with us all night and well into the next day. No one followed up to check if my daughter was ok even though I said she was vomitting. The rooms are old and tired, no ventilation or fans in bathroom and shaving mirror is rusted and there is water damaged door on the bathroom and water damaged skirting. We have no safety lock on our door, just the holes where it has been removed. Will never stay here again and will never recommend it to anyone at all. Terrible experience and so glad we only had 4 nights here in total. Look elsewhere for much better accomodation for your money and much more friendly and attentive staff.

My oldest son surprise us with tickets to my all time favorite salsa singer-Marc Anthony💃🏻! We chose this Sonesta for the reviews and comments on being dog friendly. The staff were very nice, however the room was a disaster. After a long ride, and taking a walk through the city, we so excited to get back to shower and get ready for the show. To learn after settling down the dogs……be mindful there is no direct place to take your dogs to do their business…..corny! We learn the shower wasn’t working and there was no HOT water. I requested maintenance come up to fix the shower, we didn’t want to move our dogs again and move all our stuff given we were pressed for time. Maintenance guy told here take a bath however no hot water, then he proceeded to take off the shower head leaving a hole in the wall and told us leave it running then take a shower. At the end I had to go the show without a shower……none of us did! I got a king size suite which slept 3 people the door to the room was busted so there was no privacy. They known in advance it was 3 people staying,no extra sheets for the pull out. My mom worked in the hotel for more than 20 years, this room was not READY for occupancy! We checked out early and I expressed my disappointment with the room and manager offer to cover the 1 drink we all had the bar! Seriously room charge on my card 389.87 for one night! My advice don’t do it!!!

On a positive note, we're pleased to hear that our team members were nice and that our pet policy was helpful to you. This review would have been a 4 star review because the hotel is well located (about a 20-30 minute walk or 5 minute Uber to most attractions), the beds are comfortable, the space in the rooms is fairly large; there were a few issues with housekeeping not bringing up sufficient glasses, towels, coffee and the water in the shower was not overly powerful or hot (maintenance came by and fixed this). However, I made it a 5 star because the assistant manager Bruce Daley was amazing. He fixed all the minor issues that arose quickly and with a very good communication style. Please note that there is a $35 facility fee that is charged and you get access to a number of amenities for this fee - you need to be aware so that you avail fully of what you are paying for.

It was fine but not overly impressive. My room key didn't work, we were supposed to be on a pet free floor but we had a dog next to us, and our room was not cleaned (apparently you have to go out of your way to request that.) The valet team was great though (they hold your car after checkout until 4pm and will store your bags), wine hour was a nice touch (red and white wine in the lobby between 5-6pm), and the rooms were spacious. The pool was not open yet so can't review. FYI-The newer gym has a water refill station to fill your water bottles for the day or night. We grabbed ice everyday and filled up our water before heading out for the day. The location is great for the metro, many restaurants nearby, bagel shop across the street, CVS is close for snacks, cereal/milk etc. Food in general in DC is more expensive so just be prepared. I do wish there was an outdoor space to use at the hotel to just sit and eat takeout.

From check in, to our cozy room. This stay definitely exceeded my expectations. DC is always a fun time and I typically stay in Georgetown, but this time I wanted to something budget friendly but still modern and clean and comfortable. Glad I stayed here. The staff was very pleasant, I needed toothpaste and an extra quilt and they didn’t hesitate to make it happen. The room was very clean and had a fresh smell to it. That gets an A plus from me! Lots of things to do in the area. DuPont circle is a great tourist area esp if you’re interested in eating and drinking good.

Prior to arrival Sonesta already provided excellent customer service when Ice was able to allow us early checkin. Upon arrival we met Ice and Adenea who were welcoming and even offered a complimentary bottle of wine upon learning it was almost my wife's birthday. The hotel and room were clean and had all the basic amenities, including excellent blackout curtains. The location was 2nd to none and allowed us to walk pretty much anywhere we wanted to go, or easily access public transportation for farther trips. Each time we arrived/left we were greeted by the desk staff and absolutely loved the daily wine time in the lobby. Rates were affordable and the central location also allowed for fast access to rides sharing and the airport.
10/10 for us and we will be returning when we come back to DC.

My 6 night stay at The Royal Sonesta at Dupont Circle was nice economical and convenient. I booked it on a third party site Agoda that mixed up my reservation but the hotel made seamless modifications. The destination fees and taxes of $34.79 per day was vague from start to finish. Guest pay the fee whether they use the amenities offered or not. There were thermostat facility issues with the water that would be scalding HOT after 1 a.m. at night. If you casually enter or leave the room be mindful that the door stays ajar and has to be pulled or pushed to close. Finally the king sized bed was like a spongy memory foam for me. Their was a miscommunication which caused a missed wake-up call. This was my first time at this hotel. I say "good" is the best I can do in rating and that was because of the kind staff.
