Don't let the entrance and tiny and a bit sloppy lobby deter you as inside, the Tabard Inn is one of the most cosy and charming small hotels you can find in Washington DC.
Being one of the oldest continuously running hotels in town it radiates charm and tradition and gives you a

We love this place. It is off the beaten track, and has a funky, intimate feel like you've stumbled into a dated but oh-so-special secret hideout. The bar is friendly and drinks are high quality. Dinner is that same intimate/funky-but stylish atmosphere and the food is upscale, h

Great location, friendly staff, character. Food in restaurant really good. Bar atmosphere awesome. Beds could be a little more comfortable. For an older place, they really try to accommodate current traveler needs like WiFi and gym. Highly recommend.

Warm, inviting, historical, and cozy. If these are some of your favorite words then this is your hotel. Tucked down a side street of Dupont Circle this is a gem with a great sitting room, bar and restaurant. Not great for young kids but bookish older kids would love it. Only comp

I am looking at booking this for a solo trip to DC in the fall. How exactly do the shared bathrooms work?
Hi Amber- Some of our guestrooms have shared bathrooms. The rooms have their own beds desks etc. The restroom is on one end of the hallway and the shower is on the other end outside of the guestrooms. No more than three guest rooms share a shower and restroom. We have many regular long time guests that prefer these economical accommodations for various reasons. Hope this helps, All the best- DR

I'd like to know if the Hotel Tabard Inn staff can disregard, respectfully, all the folks here who complain so much. Obviously, many of these folks have never been to Europe, where most hotel rooms would make the Tabard Inn rooms look humongous and luxurious. The Hotel Tabard Inn is as close to European charm as any hotel I know of in the U.S. Relish in it!
Can we give you a big hug? You're wonderful. These words mean so much to us. Please contact me the next time you stay at The Tabard, I'd love to do something extra special for you. Email us, link in our website. And again, thank you so much for your kind sentiments.

Is there parking?
There is valet parking available, and we have used it several times. There is also a parking deck located around the corner to the west one block, then north one block (5 minute walk) that runs a little cheaper than valet.

"When taking a room with a shared bath, make sure to get the larger room, and avoid the smaller one."
"Love Room 11!"
"talk to reservation staff about your needs or your limitations"
"The upper the better, except for the penthouse which can get hot in summer."
"Some of the rooms have wooden doors separating them that are relatively thin. It's possible to overhear other guests, in some instances where you'd rather not hear what their doing. Other rooms are sequestered off the main hallways and are totally quiet. All of the rooms are beautiful and comfortable."
