Spent a wonderful 4 nights on Waiheke Island staying at this fabulous studio apartment. It was very roomy and comfortable, Jilly was very welcoming and gave lots of hints on where to eat and what to see. Can't wait to go back again.

Central location in Oneroa village. Indoor and outdoor seating with sun umbrellas. Great variety of interesting, tasty, fresh food with warm friendly service. All day dining and happy hour. A short stroll from Tne beach.

Had a great couple of nights at the Courtyard. Jilly (and Felix) were very welcoming but left us to our own devices once we had settled in.

We stayed in the larger of the two chalets and everything you could need was included in there for a quiet getaway.

It was far away enough from the centre to be completely quiet at night but close enough to walk to the restaurants, beaches, cafes, and shops during the day.

Would definitely stay there again if I ever find myself back on Waiheke.

Hubbie and I stayed 3 nights with Jilly and Felix. Lovely room - clean and quiet. Would stay there again as very close to the centre of Oneroa and the beach. Room had all the comforts we needed plus a deck where we were able to relax. Price was excellent. Jilly was friendly and there if we needed anything.

Cute, clean and incredibly helpful and friend owner operator run accommodation. Just 10min walk from town and the beach. I can thoroughly recommend this as a good value for money stay for couples (or 2 close friends, I'm not sure if 2 single beds is an option)

My girlfriend and I stayed at The Courtyard in early January, and while the location was great, it was apparent that the room hadn't been cleaned recently.

Waiheke Island apparently has an issue with ants and mosquitos, although we we shocked to find them on our toothbrushes in the morning. The curtains we're mouldy, as was the shower, and I'm not sure that the place had ever seen a duster!

As we were on holiday, I declined to let my girlfriend tackle the shower with mould and mildew remover herself. When quizzed about the cleanliness of the accommodation, our host wasn't prepared to review it with us, so we packed up and left a day early.

Response from jillywaihekeisland, owner at The Courtyard

my two apartments are not serviced during the guest`s stay, but have cleaning materials in them for the guests to 'touch up' as needed during their stay. From my many hundreds of guests, I`ve had only one complaint, and this was tied in with the guest trying to get a price reduction for his 3rd night stay.I am very confident in the cleanliness of my apartments.

If you are planning a trip to Waiheke and your somewhat conscious of places to stay that are affordable then here's a beaut of a place that you probably havent seen on the web yet.

Its called The Courtyard, it is central to Oneroa shopping area/cafe's and restaurants and closest to little oneroa beach 2 min walk. But also walking distance to big oneroa beach say 5min walk. Bustop right outside the cottage and only a bus ride to the beautiful Onetangi beach and other attractions/beaches on the island.

I'd say its more suited to a couple or a person needing a place to go and unwind and lax out in the beautiful hot summer. This is the cutest little place and the host Jillian is absolutely lovely, so accomodating and friendly. We enjoyed our time with her.

My husband and I spent 5 days in Waiheke and absolutely enjoyed our stay. We preferred to go without a kitchenette, as we were keen to taste the local cuisine.

We absolutely recommend VinoVino for a treat for dinner, Lazy lounge for a filling snack during the day and well there is your local 4 square where you can fill up on cold drinks and snacks for in between meals.

Our apartment was better than we'd expected and I love that it was cute, private and clean, the ensuite is gorgeous and we were even provided with towels and bed linen. ( some places charge for this).

An added little touch was when Jillian ( the host) picked us up from the Ferry at Matiatia - this was not planned and it was just superb of her to do that!! Where can you get service like that these days.
Absolutely recommend this to the romantics or budget conscious traveller, this place is gorgeous, clean and your host is absolutely lovely - so please be nice to her!!

We had a superb stay at The Courtyard - the accommodation has lots of character and is beautifully appointed with everything you’d need.

It’s close to Onoroa and a great place to explore the island, and Jilly and Felix are wonderful hosts. We loved the place and wouldn’t stay anywhere else but here next time we visit!

Tucked in the back corner of the garden are 2 well kept units within easy walking to the main centre. A comfortable bed is always important, with the unit being tastefully decorated. Despite the weather we enjoyed our stay. The only negative was no Sky TV and remember this Waiheke so don't expect a conventional hotel.

"#2 is quite small (fine for 1-2 nights). Next time we'll probably "spurge" and get #1."
